Bears @ Bills - Preseason Game 1 - SAT 08/10 - 1 PM
Billl replied to DaBillsFanSince1973's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s cool that you literally didn’t watch the game but you think you know more about it than someone who did. You read the thread. It was clear from the comments that he was terrible. You asked the question hoping to get a different answer, but you got the truth instead. He had two full-on shanks. That’s a bad day for a punter. -

He had at least two that were terrible. One was a shank that wound up bouncing and rolling for enough yards to make it look decent in the box score, but it was a complete mis-hit. The other was so short that the cameraman got lost trying to find it. When they finally did, Chicago had the ball on the Buffalo 37. -

Doesn’t help that he’s only 5’9, either. -

That’s like saying a defender didn’t get a rebound because he was boxed out. If you’re a contested catch guy, it’s your job to not let the DB get in front of you. -

Cheap shot, WTF? He should be ejected. -
His knees are beyond shot. He would get them drained on the sidelines during games in 2022. If you can’t make the Patriots as a WR, you’re toast.
-
That’s true, but it’s also because they’re stuck in QB purgatory with Carr. If they were to hit on a rookie (say Rattler turns out to be a stud), they’ll be fine.

Yardage Predictions for Bills Receivers in 2024

It’s not hard to realize at all. In fact, it was literally the point of my post. -
Yardage Predictions for Bills Receivers in 2024
Billl replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
What’s the variety in Brady’s offense? Josh had 48 rushing attempts (including kneel downs) in the 10 games under Dorsey. He had 58 in the last 6 games under Brady and 20 more in the 2 playoff games. It’s no revelation that running Josh more is a boost for the offense in the short term. It’s just a matter of whether or not you want to expose him to the extra wear and tear that it entails. I’m sure Dorsey’s offense would have looked better if he had run Josh twice as much, but he was constrained by the organizational philosophy that seemingly didn’t apply to Brady. -
I’ve had it for years and love it. Being able to watch the condensed versions of games (about 35-45 minutes long) is great. It’s well worth the money.

Yardage Predictions for Bills Receivers in 2024

How many years in a row have they said that, though? Ideal or not, it’s such a huge part of his game that limiting him is a serious impediment to the offense. -
I agree. So many here are like “yeah Diggs put up 1200 yards and 8 TDs, but that’s only because he got 160 targets. Meanwhile, Aiyuk put up 1350 yards and 7 TDs on 105 targets. He put up WR1 numbers with incredible efficiency. Compare that to Amon Ra who just got 4/$120 million after putting up 1500 yards and 10 TDs, but it took him 164 targets to get there.
-
Aiyuk’s career trajectory has been that of a rocket ship. 748 yards, 826 yards, 1015 yards, 1342 yards, and his targets haven’t really changed. He only got 105 last season. That’s nearly 13 yards per target which is absolutely incredible for someone who gets a high volume of passes his way.

Justin Simmons released (now visiting N'awlins)
Billl replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well his first season was in 2016, and his first win against the Chiefs in his career was their second meeting last year… -
This board has moved on from wanting him to preemptively trashing whatever team signs him.

I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better

ICYMI, Josh’s rookie year was 2018. -

It only becomes an issue when people can’t separate their unbridled optimism from reality. 60% of this board thinks McDermott should be fired. That’s ridiculous given the fact that he’s the second winningest coach in the NFL the past 5 seasons. It starts to make sense when you realize that the same people who want him fired think Curtis Samuel and a rookie Keon Coleman are better weapons than Diggs and Davis (who produced 2000 yards and 15 TDs last season). If the passing game struggles, people are going to wonder how McDermott could allow this to happen when he was given “better weapons” at WR to work with. -
Bills are NFL’s most popular franchise worldwide? Really?

I was in the Baltimore airport 2 weeks ago and saw a woman in a Bills hat drinking a beer. It was 6:30 in the morning. 🤣 -
Tyreek Hill gets contract restructured - $90 million next 3 seasons

That’s like blaming Josh for not having won a Super Bowl. Whatever failures the Dolphins have had over the past 2 seasons haven’t been because Hill isn’t earning his keep. -

They got a ton of draft capital to not pay him. He’s worth a top of the market contract. Kansas City decided he wasn’t worth that in addition to a first round pick, a second round pick, two fourth round picks, and a sixth round pick. That trade worked out well for everyone involved. -

He’s a freak who’ll be in the conversation of GOAT in a few years. There’s no such thing as overpaying someone that good. -

It’s not, but it is. His previous contract had a huge number for 2026 that wasn’t guaranteed and was never going to be paid. This deal pretty well locks him in for 2026. -
