  1. It was absolutely a desperate move, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Buffalo’s window has officially opened, and the team was desperate for a #1 WR now as opposed to someone who might someday become one. Beane traded a TON of assets in order to acquire Diggs precisely because he was desperate. He determined that there was little to no chance of winning a championship with the popgun offense they had in 2019. After watching the Chiefs put 51 points up against the Texans, I don’t know what other conclusion a competent GM could have reached. You can quibble over the word if that’s what floats your boat, but trading that much draft capital and cap space is a move from a team desperate for a play making WR.
  2. There are 3 teams that I would consider to be elite, and those are KC, SF, and Baltimore. I don’t have any major issue with putting the following teams in any order after that first group: Rams Seahawks Packers Vikings Eagles Cowboys Saints Buccaneers Steelers Browns Broncos Patriots Bills Texans Titans Colts It isn’t unreasonable to think that any of those teams could finish at the top of that list or at the bottom of that list. The league changes so much from one season to the next that it’s also fair to throw in a couple of surprises like he did with the Raiders this year (and the 49ers which he nailed last year). Getting worked up over something like this is like getting mad over someone’s NCAA bracket. Don’t expect the Bills to get treated like Duke unless and until Allen can establish himself as a top QB (without having to add 100 qualifiers about how raw he was, how many drops he had, or who his middle school coach was).
  3. So if you take away the best season of his 4 year career, he’s only 6 games above .500... Posters here will twist themselves into pretzels to explain why Allen is way better than his stats suggest while insisting that every other QB is far worse than their numbers suggest. Dak led his team to 119 more points than Allen. If a team can’t make the postseason when scoring 113 points more than their opponents, that’s horrendous coaching. TBD would throw a parade if Allen had a season anywhere near as productive as what Dak just had, and Dak is still only 26.
  4. What did the Pegulas do or not do? I saw the statement they made, and it seemed appropriate. I’m assuming there’s more to the story.
  5. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/player-stat/total-touchdowns 9 rushing and 1 receiving for Allen
  6. Bills had 26. Cowboys had 24. http://hosted.stats.com/fb/tmleaders.asp?type=Receiving&range=NFL&rank=232 Or they were tied with 36 depending on what site you prefer. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2019/advanced.htm#all_advanced_receiving
  7. He’s tied for 9th/10th with Jimmy G. Remove the 1 yard TD sneaks, and he’s tied for 16th with Daniel Jones.
  8. So a huge component of being a good QB is having an OC who calls sneaks from the 1 yard line. That makes perfect sense. So you’re saying that a QB who had 4,900 yards passing had receivers who combined for 4,900 receiving yards? /furiously scribbling notes
  9. Mahomes fails that test with flying colors. 1. No 2. No 3. No 4. No 5. No 6. Yes 7. Yes So does Josh. 1. No 2. No 3. No 4. No 5. No 6. Yes, by a very slim margin 7. No Bill wasn’t exactly a QB guru.
  10. Hope those days aren’t during the playoffs. Kelce: 19 catches, 207 yards, 4 TDs, and 9.4 yards per target Kittle: 8 catches, 71 yards, 0 TDs, 5.5 yards per target
  11. When Wilson is 36, you draft another QB in the first round to groom as his replacement. Only this time, make sure he had a good coach in middle school so you don’t have to wait until he’s been in the league 5 years to make a determination as to what you’ve got.
  12. Great TEs are possibly the rarest commodities in the NFL. There were literally 2 in the league last year. Both were in the Super Bowl.
  13. That’s a damn shame if you ask me.
  14. Nope. I posted the exact wording earlier. Here’s a link to the rule book. https://documents.pub/document/rule-8-forward-pass-backward-pass-rule-8-forward-pass-backward-pass-fumble.html
  15. Why should it be based on positions at all? If you’re a “franchise player” ie. a player the franchise can’t do without, then you should be the highest paid player on the team. How can an organization call someone their franchise player and then say he’s not worth as much due to the position he plays? It makes no sense. If an organization doesn’t value Tight Ends, then don’t name a Tight End as the franchise player. Otherwise, it’s really just a license to screw one player on your team each year.
  16. You think Gilmore can cover someone with 4 inches 60 pounds on him?
  17. Some of us don’t retire after only working for 20 years.
  18. 808 loves to offer enormous bets knowing that nobody is stupid enough to make bets that large with some random on the internet they don’t even know so that he can spike the football and declare victory. It’s his schtick.
  19. Were you crying about the optics when Jerry Jones was cruising around on his $250,000,000 yacht (with 2 helipads because obviously 3 would have been overkill) during the draft while everyone was cooped up in their houses? https://www.star-telegram.com/sports/nfl/dallas-cowboys/article239769263.html
  20. For a stretch of a few years, fans of other teams playing the Bills were worried about Johnson and nobody else. If you could stop him, you were probably going to win easily.
  21. I’d take it further and say it shouldn’t be broken out by position. If a team doesn’t value a certain position, then someone who plays that position can’t be a franchise player. If he’s the one guy your franchise can’t do without, he should be the highest paid player on the team.
  22. He’s worth it. I’d take him over Amari Cooper even if the money was equal. Comparing him to Hooper and Henry is a joke. There are two great TEs in the league (3 if Gronkowski returns to his old self which I doubt). Everyone else is a huge step down. You could make a case that he is a top 10 player if you combine WRs and TEs. He’s easily the best offensive player on the 49ers.
  23. Watch the Pittsburgh game and tell me Josh was even mediocre. Duck turned it over 5 times, and the Steelers had 51 rushing yards. This was one of those vaunted 4th quarter comebacks. Buffalo got over 100 yards rushing from their RBs, 5 turnovers from their defense and managed 17 points on 13 possessions. Did someone hack your account?
