Brady and the Bucs get 5 Primetime games
BeastMaster replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it seems completely ridiculous, and not some kind of mistake. Most of the world can see that the Patriots aren't going to be a very exciting team, and probably a middling team at best. Makes me think there's more going on here -

I guess that's solid logic, although I'm not sure how large that market will be without Brady, and I don't know how much people will care for them...especially if they lose alot. What you said at the end of the first paragraph is what has me slightly concerned..."if they are good, it'll be a super hyped storyline". Maybe the league plans on still pushing the Pats? One thing we can agree on is that we need to take care of business -

This raises my eyebrows and makes me wonder if the league still plans on making them a relevant team. No reason why they should be getting these marquee games given they have no players fans want to see and a not good offense. -
Convince me that the 2020 Pats are good...
BeastMaster replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He got schooled on special teams this past season, and Brady took the D apart in week 16 when he could've finished the Pats ourselves. I don't see McD anywhere close to BB in terms of coaching skills, but he's a good coach that should learn and improve with more time and experience, but I can't be convinced he outcoached BB whatsoever. We've had a superior roster and should've been able to win if that was the case. -

I think Belicheck will be able to beat the bad to average teams just due to his coaching. Don't think he can make up the difference though against above average good teams with his current roster. -

I won't say they will be good, but I think they could be 8-8 or possibly 9-7. The defense will carry the load while the offense will try to grind out points. New England has done a fantastic job utilizing their backs in the pass game and that is very helpful to a young QB. I can see them playing small ball and letting the defense hold up...alot like this Bills team of the past few seasons. Also, you cannot discount McDaniels and Belicheck being able to outcoach their opponents. McDermott has never been able to match wits with Billy. I think it's foolish to make a definitive statement for either side, but to say they won't be a good team is something I'm not ready to write off. -
Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy on Jake Fromm
BeastMaster replied to TwistofFate's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He would need to play with a great coach and system that tailors to his game perfectly and playing in fair weather conditions would also help. I don't think he's getting any of that in Buffalo -

I just see him as a similar version of Barkley where his arm just won't cut it in Buffalo. You can only play the screen game/dink and dunk for so long, and this Oline doesn't get outside the hashes well enough to do it successfully even with Allen so consider me highly skeptical. Getting drafted in Buffalo hurts him if he actually ends up having to play, I think. If he played for a dome team like NO or ATL, I think he'd have a better shot. -

Wasn't that in a dome? Try doing that in NewEra -
He's got a better shot to be the guy then anyone else has since Kelly, so I'm behind him...as is the rest of the organization which has done mostly everything right and has assembled a top notch roster and culture. But you're failure to believe is noted... I will also give him that. I think McDermott has shown some serious flaws, but he's obviously done well building a culture and a very good defense. He has to show more of a killer instinct instead of playing things on the side of caution, and he has to be better when matched up against Belicheck.

Any Bills Cut candidates with trade value?

Addison is without a doubt a better player Wow -

So you don't like a much better player in Addison, but wanna keep Trent Murphy? Ooooooook -
I honestly don't see much of a difference between Dalton or any other bum. Dalton constantly implodes during games. He may take more stupid risks than a Stidham would. Don't care who they have at QB TBH

Bills fans so traumatized by the Pats that they are scared of Andy Dalton??

Pats / Bengals videotaping... still no punishment
BeastMaster replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is completely ridiculous, I agree. Unfortunately, it's nothing new with the league and the Pats. I'll hold off totally ripping them until I see what the "investigation" turns up and what the penalty is, but I don't imagine it'll be anything of significance. -
Opinions on a hypothetical trade
BeastMaster replied to offsides#76FredSmerlas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
John Brown isn't known as an Ironman in his own right FWIW. AJ Green has dominated for years. He decided to sit out the remainder of last season after the Bengals were in the tank so he could be 100% if he was able to be a free agent. I doubt John Brown is in this teams plans after his contract expires the year after next season. AJ Green is healthy and will most likely return to pro bowl form. Keep looking to hit singles while champions take home run cuts -
Rd 5, Pick 167: QB Jake Fromm, Georgia
BeastMaster replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has some seriously tiny hands also which will make it harder to throw and explains why his combine throwing sessions was abysmal. This kid will throw ducks like no other if he plays in NewEra -

BeastMaster replied to offsides#76FredSmerlas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This would be a no brainer deal for the Bills if it was on the table. AJ Green is an elite WR with the ability to dominate a game...John Brown does not possess such a thing. -
PHI Eagles projected to be $40+M over the cap in 2021
BeastMaster replied to Mango's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Howie Roseman is an awful GM that handed out deals to nearly every player who was on the SB team as a reward...about as dumb as it gets besides maybe BoB. Howie will be on the hot seat and most likely fired at season's end -
How do you judge a team's offensive line?
BeastMaster replied to BritBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well I think you can judge alot in terms of the run game and their ability to win at the line of scrimmage. Last years Oline left alot to be desired in that area for me. Pass blocking is much harder to judge as others have said, but they did seem to have problems dealing with heavy blitz packages from my perspective. Overall...I saw the line as middling, and I wanted them to get better. There's some hope with continuity and possible improvement from Cody Ford, so that is the bright side. The not so bright side is that if they can't show good improvement and Allen and Diggs don't develop a productive relationship, then we may have an unhappy receiver who will voice it in the media. This is my biggest concern this upcoming season. I really want to know the line is a non issue in such a big season for Josh Allen. -
Exactly. It's clear the organization is all in and looking to win a title. Should Allen not show the necessary improvement, I would expect a team with high expectations to at least bring in someone that has a chance to supplant Allen. And I'm as big of an Allen supporter as they come, but he's gotta become a better quarterback.
-
He had multiple offer this season but chose NO...doubtful he isn't afforded the same opportunities again no matter how next season plays out. The main point was that I would bring in as much competition as possible if Allen doesn't show enough in this crucial third season. Substitute Winston with any vet QB that has shown ability and the potential to be a good starting QB.
