NFL Network layoffs begin, ESPN layoffs expected
BeastMaster replied to dpberr's topic in The Stadium Wall
Peter Schrager is the epitome of a no talent chump who probably never played a sport in his life. Bonnetta is also awful, and they already employed a hotter and better woman in Cynthia Freuland I haven't watched ESPN in about two years, but there isn't one person I can think of that I would miss on that network -
Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
BeastMaster replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/03/27/report-deandre-hopkins-receives-permission-from-cardinals-to-seek-trade/ Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins continues to be the focal point of trade talk. He now has permission to talk to other teams. Via Albert Breer of SI.com, Hopkins has received permission to shop his contract elsewhere. Hopkins has a non-guaranteed compensation package of $19.45 million in 2023. He turns 31 on June 6. Hopkins, who not long ago was the highest-paid receiver in the NFL, has slipped as the market exploded. And while the market will still generate major dollars for the best of the best, the availability of young, healthy receivers makes it hard to justify giving significant dollars to aging players with injury issues and, in Hopkins’s case, a six-game PED suspension last year. Even though he insists he didn’t intentionally consume performance-enhancing drugs, the positive test happened. The suspension happened. Although Hopkins’ salary isn’t guaranteed, the Cardinals may have to pay some of it to facilitate a trade. If they can’t find a taker, they need to ask whether to carry a $30.75 million cap number to keep him on the team — or to cut him, at a cap charge of $22.6 million. After June 1 (or with a post-June 1 move now), the Cardinals could split the cap hit over two years, $11.3 million in 2023 and $11.3 million in 2024. For now, the Cardinals prefer to unload the contract while also getting value. To get value, they may have to pay some salary. For a new team, the challenge may be figuring out a contract that makes Hopkins happy. Part of this process may result in Hopkins realizing the numbers won’t quite be where he thought they’d be. -
Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
BeastMaster replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
What we should be doing is looking to deal Gabe Davis if we are bringing in Hopkins. That would clearly indicate that we will be moving on from him, and there won't be a lot of targets to go around after Dhop and Diggs...so package him if that's what it takes. -
Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract
BeastMaster replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
He already did. His stubbornness has already cost him tens of millions of dollars. There's no telling how much this will end up costing him by the time he gets his new deal -

Not a good indicator of his abilities if you actually payed attention to the Bucs last season. Their line was decimated for basically the entire year, and Fournette was very productive as a pass catcher. Fournette to me looked fine to me, and in a better situation I could see him having a very good year. He's a no brainer if the price is reasonable

Not a good player, and is a major health risk I'd wish him well and let him know that we will be releasing him

It’s obvious what ails the Bills, they’re softer than custard.

McDermott was passed over many times for HC positions, and I would bet that his soft coaching mentality came through in his interviews. I hate to beat the guy up as he seems like a man of character, and he has done well for us besides the playoff failures, but we have to stop pretending that he's the guy for this team if we ever want to truly have a shot to win it all -
Andy Reid didn't get a title until he left the Eagles. And both Reid and the Eagles ended up winning titles
-
I'm fine with it. These guys need to hear others around the league bury them. Maybe it will light a fuse for next season. Tell Allen he's regressed and not a top QB. Tell Diggs he's a diva. Tell Tre he won't be the same ever again. Tell them their window is closed. It should only help them to get better and tougher

Everybody's Feeling Stung right Now but please.....
BeastMaster replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall
That didn't take long The trauma of the past makes people scared to swing for the fences...meaning they would rather never win squat as long as they never ended up back in that scary space again it's how McDermott coaches, too. This type of fan and the current coaching staff are a perfect for one another -
If we had more players like Diggs, we would've showed some fight yesterday I'll take dawgs everyday over the Roger Saffolds that make excuses but make no waves

Saffold said guys were "exhausted" this week and "out of gas"
BeastMaster replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I get what your saying, and there is a degree of merit to it. On the other hand, what is the reason for the game plan to be awful? The players seemed unprepared, and there also seemed to be no creativity when it came to scheming up their opponent. I saw one team coached to attack and be aggressive, while the other looked to be timid and on the defensive from the start. You must also not dismiss this team's playoff failures under this regime. It must be factored in when having a discussion like this. It's unfortunate because it's almost as if this team and coaching staff will get a pass due to this extraordinarily tough year, when there is enough data to conclude that changes need to be made. My stance is that despite the tragedy and craziness that a team does not ordinarily deal with, the coaching staff has proven over numerous playoff runs that they are not good enough, and may be regressing. Don't let emotions override what we have concluded over multiple seasons and playoff appearances. -

Sounds like a team that was ok with putting out a half ass effort and going home because they had a rough season. This is not the mindset of a champion. It's what losers/quitters do Reflects on the coaching -

I won't watch this team next season if the coaching staff isn't gutted What's the point? Then we, the fans have a choice You accept that this team is what it is and support them, or you decide its not and you let them know it. I know where I stand -
Bills players were done with this year
BeastMaster replied to Billzgobowlin's topic in The Stadium Wall
If this was really the mindset of this team, then that is an indictment on the coaching staff. You should value and appreciate every opportunity that you are lucky enough to get, and make the most of each and every chance you get in the NFL. I personally think we are a soft team that has zero creativity on either side of the ball, and it has led to a team that can't dominate up front on either side of the ball. Any player or coach that wanted this season to be over with should no longer be on this team...simple as that -
OP is right I've been saying it for years, but this blowout in our own building is a major indictment...just like the inexcusable failure the year before. How many more of these will we accept before we acknowledge that this staff is not championship caliber? If you wanna accept good, but no chance at being champions, then McD and this staff are what you deserve. For those of us who want to see Josh and the city of Buffalo hoist the Lombardi, we need to aim higher and not settle for these failures anymore.
-
Josh looked really defeated in his press conference.
BeastMaster replied to bostonadguy's topic in The Stadium Wall
And most Bills fans will be content letting that happen because they are too traumatized from the bad Bills days to take the chance vs staying status quo with no chance to ever hoist the Lombardi. -
I generally agree with this sentiment I also think that when and where the turnovers take place, as well as what the result of the turnover is makes a huge difference. It's lazy analysis to say turnovers will lose you the game without dissecting if it costs you points, or if it's early in the game when you are ahead, etc

Should be like the NBA where a buzzer goes off and lights come on -
They have to get Cook some screens or short passes in space...he's got the ability to take those for big gains. This Is unforgivable with the way teams are playing us
