Does the NFL have a bubble plan? Covid rising
Greg S replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/06/29/jets-to-let-season-ticket-holders-skip-2020/ The Jets are giving their season ticket holders a pass for 2020. -
I thought it was Cuomo who makes that call for NY sports teams.

When it comes to NE I am more concerned with Allen and the offense against Belichick and their defense. If the Bills can hold their own in this matchup then they should be 1-1 and maybe even 2-0. The Bills defense will be fine against the Pats offense no matter who the QB is. Also ST and who wins the turnover battle play a part as well obviously but the Bills O vs the Pats D is the key matchup in these games
-
The Bills offense needs to step up. It won't be easy since NE's defense is tough. The Bills at worst need to go 1-1 against the Pats if they want to win the division. I think they have the team to finally do that this year.
-
The Pats don't have a lot of weapons of offense. The Bills D should handle them just fine. Cam BTW is 0-8 in his last 8 starts isn't the player he used to be. The big question is can Allen have success against that D. Even Peyton who was one the best and smartest QB's to play the game had his struggles against a Belichick led defense.
-
If 2015 comes back again then I will be worried with Cam going to the Pats. In 2020 Cam doesn't move the needle that much. On paper the Bills are the best team in the division. They need to prove it on the field and I think they will.
-
With the Newton signing at least we know they won't be tanking for Trevor Lawrence. Even without Cam I figured they would win enough games with their D to keep them away from getting the #1 pick. I still think the Bills win the division. Cam is upgrade for them but he isn't the player he used to be either.

If the Pats finally have a bad year then the fans/media will ignore them and focus on the Sox, B's, and Celtics. That area isn't a great football market like WNY is.

Michael Lombardi "Bills have a huge hole at QB".

This is why I think Josh will show great improvement this year. He has two years of experience now. Josh is probably (hopefully) at the point where the game is slowing down for him. That should make him more comfortable when he is in the pocket which should lead to better decision making in where to go with ball. If it does then the Bills will be right there with the Chiefs/Ravens in representing the AFC in the Super Bowl. -

Year 3 for Allen, Darnold, Mayfield. I would say its put up or shut up time for all three. I do think Josh showed solid improvement from year 1 to year 2. He definitely needs to take another step. I mentioned this before but he should have sat and held a clipboard his rookie year and watched Peterman/McCarron. But since the Bills ****ed up their QB situation so bad at the time Allen got thrown out there in a sink or swim situation. To make matters worse the Bills were a bad team with a horrible offense. Considering where he started from I think Josh has done a good job. Hopefully he takes the next step to being a solid QB this year and quiets his critics.- 205 replies

I think the CS has done a great job. When McDermott came here it was 17 straight seasons without the playoffs. They have made it in 2 of the last 3 seasons as well as coming off a 10 win season. Sure their are things McDermott can improve on and he would probably tell you that but their is no reason they can't win it all at some point assuming Allen continues to improve.

You can distance yourself (somewhat) from people while tailgating. With many drinking beers and eating food it's obvious that people won't wear masks. Just make it mandatory to have people wear one if they want to get inside the stadium. Sitting with 72,000 inside New Era I would hope people would have the common sense to wear them. I realize that every fan base has their share of idiots. Security will have to enforce the mask wearing policy. Cuomo is a Bills fan so maybe he allows 72,000 inside New Era

I hope I am wrong but I don't think they will have a choice. Hard to see fans at games this year. New Era holds 72,000 so even at 25% capacity that is still 18,000 people. Restaurants won't be allowed full capacity right away when people are allowed to eat inside so I can't see gatherings as large as a football crowd being allowed in the stadium even at a reduced capacity.

Yup. People forget that when Allen was drafted he was supposed to sit for a year as all of the "experts" thought he had the most upside but wasn't ready to start. The Bills screwed up the QB situation with Peterman/McCarron so badly that Allen was thrown out there with an offense that had very little talent. Last year Allen improved with experience and some better weapons Brown, Beasley, Singletary. This is the year (assuming we have one) where I think the Bills offense can now go out there and get "THAT SCORE". The one that puts a game away or rallies for a comeback win in a big spot on a more consistent basis. Plus with Allen in year 3 he should be much more comfortable running the offense. Diggs is a legit #1 which means Brown and Beasley slot in at the 2nd and 3rd spots so they should produce more not having to go up against the other teams top DB's. Combine that with Singletary and the Bills offense should do some damage now.
