The Lesson in the Sabres Horrendous Season
Greg S replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The standings and the past decade say otherwise. To quote former Giants HC Bill Parcells. "You are what your record says you are". I get that they are the owners and will do whatever they want. If they don't change their ways then the Sabres are screwed. -
The Lesson in the Sabres Horrendous Season
Greg S replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mentioned this before but they need to bring someone in who has the experience and history of success in building a good hockey team. Let them look at everything. The GM, HC, assistant coaches, players, scouts. Have them look at everything and let them make changes to get it turned around. The Pegula's may not want to give up control but they really don't have a choice if they want to get better. The last 10 years have shown they don't have a clue. Its long past time to bring someone in who does. -

The Pegula's are fortunate the Bills are doing well otherwise the natives would run them out of town with pitchforks and knives. It's weird how the Pegula's can get it right with the Bills but fail miserably with the Sabres. -
Do the Bills have "their guy" picked out?
Greg S replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Matt Parrino on Twitter: "Alabama LB Dylan Moses says that he's talked to the #Bills quite a bit, three or four times." / Twitter -
Looks like a young Kevin Spacey.

What do you think of these Bills concept helmets?
Greg S replied to Seoulofstone's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like what we have now. Never cared for our red helmets but didn't hate them either. The charging Buffalo stands out more on the white helmet. -
There was an article in the NY Post last week that said "sources" around the Jets said that JD prefers Wilson but members of the Jets coaching staff are trying to state a case for Darnold but its JD's call. Obviously this is all speculation and we won't know until the draft. In my meaningless opinion I think the Jets take Wilson.

The way his personal life is going the odds are probably better he ends up in jail than the AFCE.

Adam Schefter on Twitter: "49ers have been attempting to move into top five picks for several weeks now, per sources. They discussed trading up with Dolphins at 3, Falcons at 4, Bengals at 5 and ultimately decided to go as high as they could, per sources. There were no trade-up talks with the Jets at 2." / Twitter Don't know if this was posted but SF never had talks with the Jets for the #2 pick. Seems the Jets are set on taking a QB most likely Wilson.

3rd easiest schedule next year according to Mike Clay
Greg S replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The division alone is harder. NE reloaded and you know Bill is already thinking of a way to beat the Bills. Miami is pretty good right now and they have a lot of draft capital to make their team better. The Jets fired Gase and that alone should make them more competitive plus like Miami they have a lot of draft picks also. -
3rd easiest schedule next year according to Mike Clay

There is no such thing as an easy schedule. Those "easy games" sometimes turn out to be the hardest to win. -
Beane wants Allen’s contract done sooner than later.
Greg S replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder what kind of contract they will work out. Will it be a 10 year deal like Mahomes or a shorter deal like 5 years? Josh hasn't won a Super Bowl yet. if he signs a 5 year deal and then wins a Super Bowl within that time then he can ask for the moon in his next contract. He will still be young enough to sign a 10 year contract at that time as he would still be in his prime. -
The Lesson in the Sabres Horrendous Season
Greg S replied to IronyAbounds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not bitter just stating facts. Last year's "playoffs" that you refer to was the qualifier round. That wasn't Rd 1. Teams had played anywhere between 67-70 games before everything got shut down. Since they couldn't finish the regular season the league created qualifier rounds to make it as fair as possible to see who makes it in. For example the Isles beat Florida in the qualifier round then faced the Caps in Rd 1, Flyers in Rd 2, before losing to the Lightning in the ECF. Like I said the Rangers haven't made the playoffs during Quinn's 3 years as HC. One Cup post expansion and 4 overall in 95 years definitely puts them in Jets/Mets territory. -

Rangers started play in 1926. In 95 years they have only 4 Stanley Cups(worst among all original 6 teams) and 3 of those were won before expansion. So 1 Cup in 95 years post expansion. Their coach David Quinn is in his 3rd year and they still haven't made the playoffs. They will probably miss again this year. Rangers fans think they have a Yankees history and tradition when in reality they are more like the Jets/Mets. Don't know where you are getting "highly successful" from. -

The Sabres haven't made the playoffs in 10 years or so. The Bills have made it in 3 of the last 4 seasons and appear to be getting better. The Bills have a solid management team with Beane and McDermott. The Sabres do not. You can't compare the two organizations. -
Agree. Besides Beane always said he puts a priority on resigning his own FA's and he has. We still have the draft as a way to improve the team. 13-3 and with a bright future. We should be optimistic. That's not to say the Bills don't have areas they can improve on because they do. Coming off a 13-3 season with a bright future means their should be exciting times ahead with this team.

It was a few years ago but they did a behind scenes documentary with the Brady Bunch. It was Christopher Knight and Eve Plumb who "hooked up" not Greg Williams and Maureen McCormick. Robert Reed hated the show but loved the cast. He was always arguing with the producer/director because he thought the story lines were terrible. He stayed with the show because of the cast.

Saleh was a good DC with SF. His players ran thru a wall for him. He had a very good year last year considering all the players they lost on that side of the ball. Can he make the transition to being "the guy" in charge of everything. We shall see but it's hard to see him not being a major improvement over Gase. I hope he fails but I think he will get a real chance (3 years) to turn around the Jets.

I Don’t Understand Washington Football Team Not Picking New Name
Greg S replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This would work or Redtails. Something along these lines. Keep the word "RED" in the name. WFT is weak.
