We have an average at best OL a weak one at worst. We are one dimensional on offense because of it. Overall both Beane and McDermott have done a good changing the culture of the Bills. If the Bills fail to get to or win the Super Bowl it will be OL that most likely holds us back. We need to be better here going forward. This has to be a priority this offseason.

December 6, 2021 Gameday Bills vs. Patriots* Pregame Thread

We all are. Its a good kind of nervous for me as I am excited for this game. -
Last year they won a close one over NE at home and had a blowout win at NE so anything can happen. Definitely would like the Bills to get this one. It would put a lot of pressure on them to win the rematch. If the Colts can beat them at home then that would really put them in a tough spot when the Bills play at NE.
-
Just guessing here but 11 wins probably guarantees the playoffs and maybe the division. The Bills have three tough games and three games they should win NE(2) at TB - tough CAR,ATL, NYJ - should win If the Bills don't "Jacksonville" one of the games they should win and they at least split with NE then they should be in good shape.

This is what we all wanted. Big regular season game with the division at stake. Would we rather be the Jets playing out the string. I was at MetLife yesterday. I estimate the crowd at 45,000 - 50,000 tops in an 80,000 seat stadium. Half the fans were Eagles fans. A situation like that is depressing. Only good thing yesterday was the weather. It was around 50 and sunny so the tailgating was good. -

This is the one area where Beane has failed. He needs to build an OL similar to that of the Colts. I am all for having Allen throw the ball all over the place to Diggs, Knox etc etc but a cold weather football team needs to be a able to run the ball when they have to especially in bad weather. No matter how the season plays out I hope Beane improves the OL this offseason.

Sunday late thread: Baltimore at Pittsburgh

I'm not so sure he would have made it even if he caught it. It looked like their were 2 Steelers closing in fast. Good chance he would have gotten stopped before reaching the goal line. -

They would be ahead of the Ravens with a win tonight? I thought Baltimore had a better conference record. -
Pressure is on both teams but more so the Bills because they are home. McDermott likes to use the phrase "DEFEND OUR DIRT". Well tonight is the perfect time to do that. If the Pats lose they can always say the rematch is in our house. If the Bills lose then they have to go to NE and get a win for the split which will be harder to do.

Question if the Bills win tonight. Right now NE is the #1 seed. If Buffalo wins tonight does that make them the #2 or #3 seed? The Titans would be ahead of the Bills obviously but are the Bills in front of the Ravens? I know they would be in front of the Chiefs. -
Pats schedule is pretty tough the rest of the way. at Buffalo at Indianapolis Buffalo Jacksonville at Miami The only creampuff left is Jacksonville. Even the game at Miami will be tough. The Fins are playing very well and they usually give the Pats a hard time in Miami. I think even with Brady the Pats have a below .500 record from the Bill and Tom era to now.
-
That is a question for the league. They could have given the Bills a primetime home game in Sept/Oct if they wanted. Hopefully they do that for next season.
-
Beat KC at Arrowhead which is one of the toughest places to play. Upset happen all the time. Pats lost to the Dolphins, Bengals and Titans lost to the Jets, Titans lost to the Texans. Bills have their issues but overall they are a good team. I expect a hard fought game on Monday that won't be decided until late in the game.
-
Or the Bills come out and take it to them and win the game. Josh Allen continues to show that he is one of the best QB's in the game. The Pats are good but their 6 game winning streak came mostly against teams who suck or good teams that were missing many good players like the Browns and Titans. Give the Pats credit they have played well but they are not the unbeatable force the media is making them out to be.

With an improved OL and a more balanced offense I really think Josh will lead the Bills to a Super Bowl win and probably more. That is on Beane not Allen. Brady is the GOAT but he had a lot of help. Strong OL, a lot of weapons to throw to, a decent run game, and a strong defense. Allen is asked to carry to much of the burden on offense.

Don't want to turn this thread into CFB but I am looking forward to Georgia-Alabama this Saturday. I think Bama is an underdog for the first time in a long time.

If the new stadium is going to be an outdoor stadium then Beane needs to start building an OL similar to what the Colts have for example. Easier said then done but he gets paid the big bucks to figure it out. As for this game and this year nothing really can be done about it except have our starters back and hope they stay healthy.
