My only gripe with the Defense
PaoloBillsFanFromItaly replied to BBills88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We need an above average DE and a good CB. -
So now what team are you rooting for?
PaoloBillsFanFromItaly replied to BuffaloButt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
49ers and Titans. The NFL is pushing to transform the game into the "battle of the quarterbacks", promoting the air game with stupid rules. I want the two teams with the top running game to fight each other for the trophy. The best would be a 13-10 defensive battle with a couple of offensive big plays. -
I will also like to add a run thumper LB to activate against teams like Eagles, Titans, Ravens. All this "modern LB", "big nickel" stuff payed big dividents against most teams but we get exposed to the run here and there. I hope Edumnds can acquire "run thumping" abilities in his 3rd year but I am skeptical.

Allen slammed on ESPN
PaoloBillsFanFromItaly replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The reason why the Bills are 10-5 is clearly the defense. Whoever says the contrary is blind. And in my opinion we are a true MLB and a solid CB away to be a superbowl team. I hope that Tremaine will develop into the LB in its third year. Most of you will disagree and would like to add talent to the WR group, but I think we are a step away from dominating the game like the Legion of Boom Seahawks. -
The Defence thread.

I still don't buy Tremaine as an all around middle linebacker. He is very good at covering its space in zone as he's very good flying to the sideline to tackle the RB in the flat. He's still not dominant beating the guard and tackling the ball carrier at the line of scrimmage. If he attacks the hole he finishes clogged in a pile of linemen, if he's passive the RB carries him 3 yards down the field, so a 3 yards gain become a 6 yards gain easlily. In my opinion he excels at certain things, while he's below average in others. -
Cris Collinsworth man

I like his technical comments, but yesterday he and Al were broadcasting as Steelers fans. On the final interception Al HAD TO announce with some emotion, it's his damn job, instead he seemed he was very depressed for the Pitsburgh comeback that fell short. In the same moment I was about to scream with joy, but it was 5 AM in Italy, and I live in an apartment... -
Buh-bye Arena League
PaoloBillsFanFromItaly replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Arena Football is so stupid, offenses are unstoppable so the winning team is the one that succeds to run more drives. -
In order of importance: 1) Tremain Edmunds missing tackles, choosing poor angles, not being able to shed blocks, running into a pile of engaged offensive/defensive linemen. 2) Josh Allen lacking touch when throwing the fade on the 1v1 matchup on the outside, he MUST give a change to the receiver to make the play. On the long ball to McKenzie, I thought that the receiver screwed the play too. 3) Daboll not feeding Singletary with most touches against a poor run defense.

Ed Oliver first half grade
PaoloBillsFanFromItaly replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Edmunds seems terrible when run is going inside the tackle-box, while he's very good covering from sideline to sideline. Even if he is in the right position runner is down three yards after the point of impact. -

Unsung heroes from redskins game...
PaoloBillsFanFromItaly replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tarhon Johnson was very good in coverage, even if he was a liability in the running game. -
Ed Oliver first half grade
PaoloBillsFanFromItaly replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It seems to me that coaching staff relied on Jordan Philips and Vincent Taylor to stop the run. I will look at the snap count analysis, but if this is the case, not a very good sign for Star and Ed, which are supposed to be our starters... -
Defense needs to get some turnovers
PaoloBillsFanFromItaly replied to Niagara Dude's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We need to stop the run, once we accomplish this QB will be lead to force something and turnovers will happen -
I don't know if this has been discussed. I like the wheel system very much, this system was proposed for the NBA (in which tanking is a REAL issue, unlike the NFL). Draft pick is totally indipendent from the stangings, but is predetermined in a cycle of 30 years (32 in the NFL). This system does not give a prize for losing.
