“I love you Josh Allen!” *Cole Beasley voice*

I don't think that means what you think it means. [h/t @Inigo Montoya] -
Marty Shottenheimer placed in Hospice care
Dukestreetking replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for update @Royale with Cheese. Brutal, brutal news. I recall a piece from ~2y ago (30 for 30??). His condition, even at the time, did not look promising. A sad reality of life, and the suffering inherent therein, as the Buddhists would say. -
Definitely corps... usually thought of as a group of people working together (and bonus play: it has both singular and plural applications). Unless you're Barack Obama, then for sure it's "corpse-man". [Mods: I swear to God, not being political!! It's just an obscure joke that nobody will remember...but some folks of my professional tribe took note of, across many persuasions]

Great info! Wow, blown away. I can't (or can I??) believe '20 Bills were 6th ranked in NFL history for WR catches. As you say, this reflects the profound offensive changes in just 2+ yrs (i.e, Big Blue gettin' 'er done). And, btw, thanks for suggestion to pull up article. I actually use firefox on my android phone for variety of security reasons, but still could not read via Incognito. Alas, BNews in outsmarting my dumb ass.

A brutally honest look at the Bills' playoff games
Dukestreetking replied to Arm of Harm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I nearly always agree w your comments and/or p**s my pants at your impeccable comedic content & timing. But, in this case...you gotta give @Arm of Harm credit for precisely laying out a problem followed directly by her/his proposed solution. Unusual here. Even if you don't agree....well done, imv. Hell, reads exactly like a go/no-go mission brief. Makes me feel like blasting "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" (h/t @chknwing334) fr a thread far, far away. (Maybe you were speaking of thread more generally??) -
A brutally honest look at the Bills' playoff games
Dukestreetking replied to Arm of Harm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm obviously cherry-picking from many well-argued, even rich-dense comments. Some I agree, some I'm not so sure about. But this: definitely. -
Huh? I'm surprised there are no replies to this potentially huge and fascinating topic. @Big Turk: thanks out to you, and I hate to impose... But perhaps you could give us a bit more on this (I can't get past subscriber wall, and I'm sure others are in same boat). To narrow it down: how is "productivity" defined in the article? Also, maybe a bit more re how Bills receivers met/exceeded 95 Falcons. I'm with you brother! But could use some more justification re the assertion.

Roger all @transplantbillsfan. I admit I'm very interested in this topic, due to my trainer days in, like, 1923. Why? B/c "everyone" is talking about off-season work re tuning mechanics, decision-making, and the like (e.g., today's BufNews) I'm honestly astounded re lack of discussion S&C&N issues. Esp b/c it's relatively easy to fix, and doesn't have substantial impact on time devoted to other issues (for pro athlete, just to be clear). The pay off can be enormous vs time invested. So, please keep us posted if you confirm. Thanks again. (Note re "voices in your head". One word: lithium...or maybe seroquel)//sarc

Super Bowl Thread: KC at Tampa Bay

Hmmm...did not hear that, but would be very interested to find out. Actually, I heard the opposite. I "think" it was Ray Lewis who said--in praising what a truck Allen is--"if he's only 240, then I'm 6'5" (paraphrase) Losing circa 9% bodyweight during the season would be clearly noticeable, and I suspect a concern to the S&C team. Example, Goff lists at 223, and he looks like a stick compared to Big Blue.

Yes, agreed. One other thing: I would hope J commita fully to a fitness/nutrition pgm worthy of an elite-level athlete. Do it now: it will be $ in the bank as he gets older and the athleticism diminishes a bit. Do I have evidence there is a lack thereof? Not a ton, but his body looks like it could benefit from plus 5-10 lbs of lean muscle mass. Nutritional evidence: mostly anecdotal, such as discussion w HP when they were driving to West Herr; what I've seen him eating, etc. And no, I don't want a TB12 plan which, in any event, was "stolen" fr Steve Gundy and his unproven (imo) lectin theory of inflammation. Otherwise, not a bad player. I suggest a low-ball new deal, just to keep him around the facility to help Barkley develop.

This is a fair argument, and I'm on record as saying we underestimated Star's loss. Would love to see comparative tape. Do you know of any out there? I "think" the difference I saw this year: yes, the 1T eating the DTeams, but getting turned, at least enough times for me notice ...and (whichever) gap that created wasn't getting filled quickly enough. W Star, no push (obviously) but he'd rarely get tuned. That's my perception, at least. Entire comment is a good think through. This is pretty much where I am currently. But, again, I'd have to see 19 v 20 comps tape.

Copy, roger all. Funny, "DSK" was my call sign for so many years; sometimes I forget it's origin in this beautiful, evocative piece of music. Well, "train roll on"...it's Tuesday after all. So out to you, and thanks for the laugh. -

No f'ing way!! Hilarious. Board winner. Is that based on my "Badlands" ref the other day...or do you just dig "Backstreets"...or is this another clever flame over flame? I'm so confused; think I need some new juju crystals. Please ask your friend for best price. On second thought, tell Terry it don't matter to me now. -
I got so motivated, I read all 3 parts of article, plus some related pieces. So thanks for passing along. At same time, I just realized (derp) this is a pass catcher thread... apologies for jamming signals. So, very quickly: (1) much more impressive in run game than I thought, and it's not a Watt second order effect. (2) believe, as you do, his skill set would fit well w Bills (3) even w acl tear, and probable PuP status early, he'll be out of our $ range. But Beane is a wizard. Maybe he can make some magic happen w BD.

Thank god when someone explicitly states the trade-off, whether you agree or not. I like the OP's thread, but I wish there was room to add "...and specifically who/what would you be willing to give up for that FA, etc?" Anyway, back to issue: @4BillsintheBurghsounds like you would be willing to "trade/give up" MA's $8m (someone correct me) for BD at, say, $30/3. Is that fair? I'm just trying to lay out parameters. I don't think it's totally out of the question, but admit I'm a bit skeptical. Sincere questions: this is primarily to resolve pass rush issues, thus potential fewer snaps on the ACL yr 1? I see his TFLs, but how is he v the run more generally? Finally, how sensitive would you be to the price? Still do it at, say, 36-3? Not trying to bombard you w questions...it's an idea (again, I'm hesitant) that's at least worth further exploration. You can be damn sure OBD is considering all kinds of these options. [Btw, not necessarily looking for immediate response. Unfortunately, we have time to ponder.]

I've avoided the political discussions like the plague, but I must say this really tugged the heart strings. Was in IZ during Jan05 election. Believe me, our HUMINT and other sources were predicting a terrible s**t storm, but it went amazingly well, aside from lack of Sunni voting (a whole other story). Lots of crap happened during my many, ahem, "visits" but that day was truly inspirational. Iraqis were so damn motivated, stoic and brave in the face of an awful threat profile. And Coalition forces were, quite literally, putting their lives on the line to ensure a credible process and result. Made many (all?) of us think how fortunate we are.

Very well-played my friend. Damn you for thinking of that first. PS: this is clearly the best of the 847 new threads over the last 24h.
