As I can only leave one button response, further explanation: Awesome re your wife's clean scan, but very Sad to hear of your dad's condition. There's something about a son losing his father...isn't there? Ever it shall be, and it's just particularly tough: like losing your life's Lodestar. All the best to you and family @Draconator.

Turning Point in the Game
Dukestreetking replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, I got nothing at the moment. So just to be a smart ass: I'll say turning point came when both organizations learned of the weed shortage in Jamaica, per AP. They figured to close out the game as quickly as possible, thereby getting to work on this important problem toot sweet. Admittedly, it's just a working theory. https://apnews.com/article/world-news-jamaica-kingston-coronavirus-pandemic-marijuana-2d9e9c6dbc4d311e7b7085708eca0571 -
Is it too late to watch World Axe Throwing League?

I guess at least one more time...

Fair enough, I'm w you. But, two things (1) if you've ever had to make a pitch, or reward a client, there's plenty of space to do plenty of schmoozing, under any circumstances. (2) These business decisions -- whatever they really are, vice the press release -- were made many months ago. The "virtue announcement timing"™ just rubs me the wrong way, in a non-Bob Kraft sort of fashion. That said, now we can move on to judging actual quality of ads...

Super Bowl Thread: KC at Tampa Bay
Dukestreetking replied to Artem Lipatov's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wish there was a "yeah, sort of agree" button... reflects my agnosticism towards game/winner. But, once again, I'll go off the board for my rooting Schwerpunkt: I simply can't handle any more Mahomes ads. Way over-exposed. And, brothers and sisters, it could get worse...way worse. If, in May of this year, I'm watching another Mahomes-Polamalu commercial, I'm going to Glock-19 my tv. [and I actually like Polamalu] -
Hmmm...count me skeptical. I'm not arguing with you @Bubba Gump, but virtue explanations™ -- from corporations already dumping, let's say $100M total, into this game -- are not virtuous at all. Do you (the general you) think Bud/Pepsi board said, "let's not fly Bob and Ted and Carol and Alice" to the game this year, and let's not spend big, tax-deductible $ to schmooze our highest dollar clients? Meh, somehow I doubt it. NOT a political statement: it's just business!

This. In a frighteningly kinetic sport, he is playing highest level football (the game itself), at the most important position, with a very good (not excellent) season ...at his freaking age. Continual, consistent championship-level/winning play. What else defines hyper-excellence? (And I hate this m'fer)

There's something fishy about Jon Feliciano

Winner. But my favorite remains "cleaning fish" explanation via @The Wiz. -

Ok, pun alert...I'll bite on the possible rationale. It was only sweatshirt avail that had the r. shoulder flag flying in the right direction. He's a big fan of the military so he knows these things. Another possibility: I have no idea. -
Joe B article speculates John Brown will be cut
Dukestreetking replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rog, thanks for reply. I understand WAR vav baseball. I actually thought you were going deep Wharton MBA on me! Funny, I never thought of WAR application to football, but it could make sense. You've hit on something here. Baseball lends itself to complex statistical analysis, thus analytics more mature. But, w football players wearing 24/7 "G&C harnesses" (basically, 3 DoF accelerometers), AWS, etc.. the data can now be integrated for current/historical reliability...and thus use of WAR. -

Dukestreetking replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The whole comment was very interesting and well-argued. No kidding. So interesting, in fact, that I'm willing to be the dumb guy: what is WAR analysis/concept? Six-sigma related? No need to explain...If you provide a link, I would really appreciate it. Maybe football should be using it! -
I interpret @McMuffinquestion to mean, "has JA changed how teams draft/otherwise obtain their QB?" Answer: yes. JA had measurable/readily observable physical tools, though w flaws. But what I kept hearing fr McBeane/org was the value they placed on his intangible potentials (IPs). IPs: coachability, learning velocity, leadership growth, internal critique process, work ethic, team fit, city fit and so many others. Aside fr wonderlic and team visits, IPs are difficult to empirically measure. Now, have teams looked at such traits in the past? Of course, but clearly Buffalo's due diligence was spot on wrt Allen. Bottom line: I suspect teams will be hitting up Bills leadership for tips/insight into their process. How did they so thoroughly nail this intangible potential piece? Specifically, the kinds of things we don't hear about in TV interviews.

You know what I heard about Kordell Stewart...
Dukestreetking replied to BillsShredder83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow...hard to believe it came from a head coach, BUT not hard to believe if that coach was Switzer. Maybe Troy didn't deck him b/c he feared BS would shoot him with that .38 he "forgot" was in his luggage. As aside, did BS say this in public as a joke? Or some malicious whisper campaign? @H2o: Bayless involved?? But, wait a minute, I heard he was gay. I'm so confused. //s -

Dukestreetking replied to BillsShredder83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Years ago, I vaguely remember rumors that "Troy Aikman is gay" (or am I hallucinating re another player?). Didn't bother me at all, but I wonder if he and Slash had similar experience. ** Rumor not true of course. -
Tyreek Hill impressed by Justin Zimmer
Dukestreetking replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was saying this earlier in the run game thread, half-joking. But you may be onto something: namely, use Z not just as a short yardage bruiser, but get the "speed demon" off tackle and into space. A man can dream, can't he? -
Cole Beasley featured in new GrubHub commercial

Agree fully...well at least w first graph. I mean, what's next: cotton candy and whip cream pizza? Dogs and cats living together? Where does this shamelessness end? -

Imho, think we need to steer the discussion back to the meat of the issue. Namely, Beaz acting skills. Frankly, I thought he was flat as hell...not good at all. And I'm surprised b/c (1) music experience, which lends itself to better camera exprrssion (2) he's my favorite player, and my fav players must always be unassailable. Discuss and clarify...
