Questions are indefensible? Brother, you could have said, “yeah I do” and made yourself look far less silly lmao. -

It’s a message board opinion homie. It’s not that serious, I promise -

Seriously though, do you think more defensive-heavy investments are the answer? I don’t think we are ever gonna play a half like the Bengals did in the 2021 AFCCG. We could have Garrett and Crosby, and a good CB to pair with Benford. I don’t think we are ever shutting them down like that. For most of the game last week and when we’ve played KC in the past, we have lived and died with KC’s mistakes and plays that you can’t rely on. Especially because they make less in the postseason. Think of all the big defensive plays the Bills have ever made over the years vs that team. Random unforced Mahomes fumble Random unforced Mahomes overthrow pick Random tipped pass off the receivers’ hands for a pick six when they elevate in the postseason, their dudes are OPEN OPEN. And they routinely make the plays that are there to be made. It would take an entire defensive philosophy shift and a massive infusion of talent to alter that. Neither of which I believe are possible or even likely to happen. We have done the “multiple All-Pros in the back 7” thing. They still dominated on offense. If the argument is we need defensive talent better than those 2020-2021 teams, it’s just not gonna happen outside of pure dumb luck. We would need like a two year Seattle run of multiple defensive All Pros found all over the draft. -

Did you think I was a mind reader or maybe I’m a Bills player in disguise? -

Most of them tbh. They probably feel that way because they always lose. -

FINAL v3.0 now LIVE on p.15 - Gunner's 2025 Mock Draft

Where would the Bills be if they weren’t doubling down on overrated players like Eddy O and his 3 sack years. Draft a guy who will be better than Ed and replace him as a pass rusher over a 1T to maximize Ed so he can post another goose egg postseason. -

Ummm I'm acting like one of our best veteran players and leaders was acting like the game was over with 2 minutes left and 3 TOs on defense. -
There's an image from last weeks' game that I can't get out of my head. It was quick so maybe some folks didn't notice it. But after the failed 4th down attempt late in the game, there was a brief second where Dawkins and Chris Jones were doing their little embrace/stay healthy/see you next year dance. The issue? The Bills had 3 time outs and there was 2 minutes left on the clock. Now the Chiefs kinda had their way in the first half, but the defense did force a couple punts and held the Chiefs to FG just the drive before. So why was Dawkins (who I think is excellent) hugging Chris Jones like the clock struck zero? The game was still live. Maybe we get the ball back with a minute 30 if they hold them to a three and out on runs? A tipped pass and maybe we save a TO? This leads me to a larger point. 3 point game, 2 minutes left, 3 TO's and one of our best players is ready to start the offseason. He didn't think we had a chance (he was right but that's besides the point.) Do these guys think they can win when they step on the field?

Okay so the defense stinks every year vs the Chiefs in the playoffs since 2020 because we haven't invested enough in defense? -

Okay so even though the defense wasn’t good enough in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, we just need to keep investing in defense and maybe 2025 will be the year? Is that the argument? -

The point is that nobody has been able to beat KC with defense in 3 seasons. -

Trade the whole draft and Kincaid for DK + Garrett and go win it all. -

Bills related - like the picks. UnBills related, I think Sawyer is a classic late riser that ends up being picked late 20’s or 30s. Like a TJ Watt pick. -

Our QB having the ball in his hands with 3 minutes left down 3 is a situation I would take 10/10 playing any opponent anywhere. We should have the players to support that. Our defense on the field facing Lamar/Burrow/Mahomes with the ball in their hands up 3 with 3 minutes left is a situation I would not take 10/10 times. The reason we lost is because on the biggest play of the game, Josh Allen made a heroic throw that hit a receiving option in his hands, and was incomplete: That’s why we need to upgrade the offense. Because when Josh has the ball with 3 minutes left, we should score. -

Counterpoint: two years in a row Josh Allen had the ball in his hand with 3 min left down 3 vs the Chiefs and scored 0 points. Also very odd point to reference our #1 offense and then reference all the top 10 offenses that didn’t win Superbowls. Maybe our offense was too good to win this year? -
The Chiefs are always one step ahead of the Bills...
FireChans replied to Awwufelloff's topic in The Stadium Wall
Taron. But that’s it. How is way early to tell on Worthy? He sent us home in the AFCCG with over 100 yards from scrimmage, 1 TD and led their team in catches. Coleman had 1 catch for 12 yards on 4 targets. That happened. It’s not too early to tell what will happen. It’s already happened. -
Ken Dorsey was Josh Allen’s OC pick

He sure made a difference last night leading their team in catches and yards from scrimmage and having their only receiving TD. our guy had 1 catch and 12 yards. -

The worst of these with hindsight is Mahomes but it’s the most defensible. McDuffie v Elam sucks but we just got outfoxed at a position of need. Giving the Chiefs Worthy is easily the most indefensible. And thus Worthy dropping a hundo on our heads in the AFCCG while Keon Coleman run blocks on passing downs is a sick form of poetic justice for Beane and co. An egregious error. And unfortunately utterly predictable. -
Your expectations were that the Bills got better in 2024 and that the national media was dead wrong on Buffalo.

Some thoughts on why we can't get over the hump
FireChans replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep. Why does anyone think any Bills player or coach is going to listen to McD’s messaging next year prepping for the Chiefs in the AFCCG or divisional round and truly believe, in their heart of hearts, that they can win? The Pats won games against the Bills for years before they ever played a down. The Chiefs do the same. they all know how it’s gonna go. in the next 8 years, what is more likely? The Bills are 0-8 against the Chiefs in the playoffs or the Bills are 4-4 against the Chiefs in the playoffs. We all know the answer. -
I would trade an entire draft class for Garrett and Metcalf, fill the rest of the roster in with FA filler, and take my chances.
