  1. Yes, we have still been spiraling for the last decade because we mortgaged our future trading up for Sammy Watkins.
  2. Is that why they traded for Jordan Matthews (cut), KB (cut)? Is that why they traded Dareus, (accelerating his hit) and then turning around and giving Star $40M to replace him? You can’t say these moves were to shed salary and get draft picks when they did never did both.
  3. Not to mention, it’s not as though EVERY decision Beane and McD did was in effort to tear everything down. They kept TT. They could have easily walked away in 2017 and gone full rebuild and gotten a top 5 pick. They traded for KB midway through the season. They could have rolled with Jordan Matthews and Zay that year. They absorbed Dareus’ Hit and immediately threw $10M at Star. Sure, they planned on growing pains and a down year in 2018. But not every decision was made by that aim. With hindsight, they would have been better paying Woods than trading for KB, trading for Matthews or drafting Zay. They made some decisions for now and some decisions for the future. We are in a good spot, but every single decision wasn’t made “to be crappy in 17/2018 and be good in 19.”
  4. 1% chance. The Dolphins just don’t have the talent to even win with a couple breaks. BB vs a former Pats assistant? Fitz with the TOs vs a good Pats D? Honestly if it were any other Dolphins team this DECADE, I’d give them a decent chance. This team just doesn’t have the horses to compete with the talent of NE for 4 Q’s. I see it being a game that looks close early on, but a couple breaks or big plays give NE a 14 point lead and the game is over at half.
  5. They didn’t make “everyone suck.” They adjusted ratings across the board to a new scale. 70s is decent players, 80s are stars, 90s superstars. The Bills are good.
  6. I mean, they went to the AFCCG with Bortles at QB. That’s a pretty solid achievement.
  7. Sure, it was reasonable to pass on Mahomes/Watson. It was also reasonable to pass on Wilson. It was reasonable to pass on Bridgewater. It was reasonable to not draft a QB in the first round each year we didn’t do that for almost a decade. The problem is you need to take risks in the NFL to win. It’s gambling. It’s reasonable to not play blackjack but that means you’ll never win.
  8. Well it’s a chicken and egg debate. We have the luxury of a good defense, which takes pressure off the offense and QB. I think Josh would be chucking it if we were allowing 25 ppg on the defensive end. It’s sometimes understated how much a good defense helps an offense. The Jets would carry Sanchez until the late stages. The Broncos in 2015 with a horrific corpse of Peyton punted like 5 times in a row in the AFCCG vs the Pats once they had a lead because they trusted their defense.
  9. We had Tyrod Taylor on the roster. Mahomes might not have started. Mahomes would have benefitted from having a great defense, which he certainly has not had in KC. He may not have thrown 50 TDS, but he certainly would have still been a great winning QB.
  10. Daboll is good. The difference is Allen isn’t asked to carry the team often. Your point is well taken, and he has delivered in big moments, but he and the offense aren’t tasked with putting up 25-30 points every game to win.
  11. Well of course, the biggest goal in the NFL is to gain draft picks and flexibility. The Dolphins are dominating this year!
  12. Ben and Stafford would be excellent additions to the IR list this season, but I doubt they’d be all that helpful on the sideline.
  13. That’s an interesting bet. Loved is an interesting adjective. I bet Chargers fans “love” Rivers for his career but I doubt they love his performance this year. I would say that number is closer to 14 in terms of active QBs in the NFL in which a large portion of the fan base loves them as their “guy.” Here would be my list: Brady LJ Brees Dak Wentz Goff Wilson Jimmy Ryan Minshew Darnold Baker Murray Mahomes Rodgers Watson Can’t think of anyone else and some of those are debatable honestly. More than 14 but less than 20.
  14. A is very generous. I’d give him a B. Bad ball to Beasley resulting in a TO in a grind out game was not great.
  15. Duck definitely looked superior tonight. He completed a lot of passes to guys in Bills’ jerseys.
  16. Yep. I’ve watched him win games on his own. I don’t expect him to win EVERY game on his own. I just expect my franchise QB’s to demonstrate that they can bail out a bad day for the rest of the team sometimes. That ability is important when you’re going up against the class of the NFL
  17. Duke Williams sucks. Brandon Reilly sucks. That one tall 7th rounder sucks. Marcus Easley sucks. Every single one of these clowns got propped up year after year after year for some bizarre reason. They suck.
  18. Fair enough. I actually don’t think there’s a single photo of the President doing any kind of fake ground breaking stuff. No pictures with the hard hat on at a work site. That’s pretty unique in the modern era of Presidencies I think.
