  1. This may increase his trade value with Kraft and the Pats. A fellow masseuse lover.
  2. It’s not about the raw numbers. It’s about having another weapon teams need to scheme for. Ertz would instantly upgrade our offense. Period.
  3. I’m talking about this instance currently. This is bad journalism.
  4. How am I hypocritical? I’m not even a Catholic. Why won’t you just let them believe what they want?
  5. Getting pretty emotional there huh. The Catholic Church didn't say stone them, it said they couldn't bless them. I doubt Pope Francis would bless premarital sex either. I do enjoy when people shake their fist at religious institutions about "contributing to society" when Christians at large are routinely the most charitable demographic, at least in the US. But please go on about the populations "contributing 10 times more to society." Why can't the Catholics just be Catholics? Why can't they live their view of a "good life" without you butting in?
  6. Because it is active sin. The Catholic Church to my knowledge does not "bless" bacon wrapped shrimp. Can someone explain to me why the Catholics and Christians are expected to change their doctrine? I mean, sure maybe it would be nice. But honestly, why should all those dudes in robes speaking Latin by candle light give a ***** what we think?
  7. Did the other 49 states need the CDC to tell them to not pack nursing homes with COVID positive patients?
  8. Yeah, I don't think this merits an "at least." Journos have one job and they routinely suck at it.
  9. Oh man at least they corrected the record months after the fact. Democracy dies in Darkness and all that
  10. Raiders are classic bad management. Trade a blue chip superstar at an important position for picks because you don’t want to pay him. Don’t get a more important position with those picks. Pay an inferior player big bucks to play the same position. Vikings traded him because the season was lost
  11. She doesn’t need to be on board.
  12. CB at the end of the first this draft may be the better value pick at a blue chip position. Not as important of a position as DE, but important. IMO
  13. Matt Milano got healthy. That was why. That’s why Beane gave him $44M. Jane Edmunds was a negative value player out there without Matty.
  14. Speak for yourself. I’ve been waiting for the call since 2014.
  15. Barkley is a game breaker though.
  16. Radical indeed, but would eliminate the role that certain teams serve in acquiring other teams FAs and maintaining if not accentuate their value. Trading for a Jerry Hughes, turning him from a bubble player to a very good vet and then losing him in FA would be well served as Comp pick worthy scenario. The reason why the Pats do so well in Comp picks is because of this btw. There was like 3 or 4 years in a row they acquired disappointing or middling Browns players for next to nothing, turned them into good players and then let them hit FA. The larger part of all this is why the Bills don’t do Comp picks well under Beane. Chiefly, this is due to their team building strategy. They basically traded away all of their players worthy of comp picks to start. Then, Beane and McD have signed MANY UFAs in their tenure here. I haven’t looked it up, but I would bet we are probably top 5 in the NFL when it comes to raw number of UFA’s signed. Their strategy seemed to be acquire a ton of mediocre to solid UFA’s to build the backbone of our roster. The great OL acquisition period of 2019 comes to mind, where they grabbed Mongo, Morse, Long, Neshke and a few others. That’s going to hurt your comp formula. Now Beane has offset this by ALSO taking advantage of regularly trading guys on the roster fringes for late picks rather than outright cuts. And now that we are no longer a team that can afford to pay decent UFAs a premium at low value positions, I would expect the formula to work again in our favor.
  17. Our roster has not yet been at the point where the Comp pick formula will benefit us.
  18. Free agency hasn’t even started. Honestly wtf are you talking about
  19. Remember when you guys thought the salary cap was real? Welcome to being a good team. Enjoy your stay.
  20. Direct quote from the first paragraph: ”The idea was well-meaning: to give something to a team that lost a player.” That’s exactly why it was designed. And that’s how it works. Imagine digging up an article that proved you wrong in the first 3 sentences.
  21. Star was going to be jettisoned this year for sure but him opting out kinda screwed us.
  22. So many bad bad bad assumptions in this post. First, FAs go all over. Who was the last big name FA the Steelers got? Or even the Pats? Second, it’s a salary cap era. Not only can these teams actually not afford all the good players, there is also no difference in small or big markets. Third, the Jags traded away players like Jalen Ramsey, Dante Fowler, AJ Bouye, Yannick Ngakoue for picks. So yeah, they didn’t get comp picks for those dudes. They shouldn’t.
