Why I believe Jordan Phillips wasn't retained
FireChans replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How was he not the most productive? I guess you think McBeane are also shopping for Bridges seeing as they offered $8M AAV for an future “underwhelming” player. -

I mean, hard to debate with “arguably best defensive lineman.” You could argue Oliver was better but not more productive. Phillips was #1 in sacks, 2nd in QB hits, tied for first in TFL, and #1 in solo tackles on our DL last year. I was encouraged by Oliver’s play last year, but JP stuffed the stat sheet last year. There’s a reason he went from a prove it deal to $10M AAV. -
Miami and New England Team Building Strategies...
FireChans replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, the best strategy is to gear up to pummel your division rivals. Going 6-1 or 4-2 in the division helps your playoff chances immensely. Or just get the GOAT HC/QB combo, whatever works. -
The same dude who talks about Josh’s total TD percentage is going to give Tyrod credit for 23 total TD’s when the RB’s had career years and rushed for 23 TD’s total. Tygod ranked 19th in total TD’s in that scheme in 2016 btw, whereas Lamar ranked first in 2019 with 44. Some how Baker did pretty well, whereas Tygod got yanked after completing less than 50% of his passes, going 4-14 with 19 yards and 3 sacks and 22 yards lost in one of the worst first halfs of football of all time against the eventual 4-12 Jets. Baker came in and won the game and the book on TT was mercifully closed.

You can watch the tape as much as you want and see how many times Star got beat being single teamed. There’s a reason the dude took a pay cut, when JP got offered $8M. -

Star didn’t beat his man enough to get enough tackle opportunities to miss. -

Deshaun Watson To Patriots Rumours Begin To Swirl

I would suspect the Texans would sure the league and investigate for collusion. In which they would probably win. -

Are you asking could BOB call the Pats, come to an agreement, and fax all the paperwork without the owner’s catching wind of what is happening? -
Trent Williams from the Redskins up for grabs?
FireChans replied to Frez's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you sure he might be available? This is the first I’ve heard of this. -
So sorry to hear this. A true Bills fan and a great personality on the board. He will be missed. Prayers to you and your family.

Rank the moves the Bills have made
FireChans replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear you and that’s reasonable. I for one take the perspective that we are gambling on Addison being more productive in the short term than Shaq instead of standing pat with the same flawed guys. And I love that. -

The corollary bold prediction is that Shaq nor JP finish out their current contracts with their new teams. -
I agree with all of this. Beane is closer to a Whaley type GM right now. Has made some nice moves, found some hidden gems in the draft and good FA pickups, but is missing the signature pick. Has had his busts like all GM’s do. It’s funny, you could make the argument that pound for pound, McD was the one who orchestrated the best offseason when he was driving the whole ship. Acquiring Poyer, Hyde, White, Dawkins and Milano is a better group of players than either Beane or Whaley ever acquired. That may change as Edmunds, Oliver and most importantly Allen grow.

Bills/Diggs trade - did it drive Brady to leave NE?
FireChans replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I actually have a different take. I think Brady was done after this year. I think he wanted the Pats to make a big move to try to win it all next year. I think BB, who isn’t stupid and probably isn’t retiring this year, thought about it and decided to not move around picks in a Win-Now mode with Brady on his way out and an aging Edelman after getting bounced in the WC round and being maybe the third or fourth best team in the AFC. This isn’t the year to go all in for the Pats. And that’s what Brady wants. -
Best WR Trio in the AFC, or in the League?
FireChans replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They don’t play the same position, but that’s nice I guess.
