  1. The bolded has nothing to do with what I said. Like zero. For a team that has been trying to find a safety, it’s telling that they haven’t drafted one high in years and years. You know why? Because it’s bad value. I’m not sure you are following the argument at all. Tyron Smith had been hurt on and off but played 11 games the year before they drafted Smith. Some teams may have said it was just bad luck. The Cowboys saw the writing on the wall. Good for them.
  2. Oh sure, I’ll believe you on your third try lmao
  3. The Chiefs averaged 29.6 PPG in 2020 Are you trying to be wrong on purpose?
  4. The “optimists” are invoking the memories of the 2017 roster backing into the playoffs. We really are doomed in 2024. This is exhibit A.
  5. Okay. let’s just ask another way. Why was the Chiefs offense so bad last year?
  6. Sure, but we could probably play that game on step further and throw out games that Mahomes didn't play because they locked up the one seed.
  7. That’s true. But still, the meme of “we outscored the Chiefs over the last 4 years” is really driven by last year, when the Chiefs offense kinda sucked all year, and is a defense for replicating that strategy to have the same sucky offense for some reason.
  8. Is it? in 2020, they went WR and CB with their first two picks. Despite having Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup at WR. 2 years later, Cooper is gone and they have their new #1 WR already in place. In 2021, they went BPA at pick kne and took Micah Parson, a superstar EDGE. In 2022, they took an OT/OG in the first, despite having Tyron Smith playing at an excellent level. Of course, he got hurt and then eventually left, and they have their replacement already there. In 2024, they drafted ANOTHER OT in first, despite all of that above. Why? Because they focus on premium players at premium positions. Because they realize that needs change fast in the NFL, and players at OT/WR/CB are ALWAYS gonna get paid. It’s easy to say, “oh we lost our left tackle/WR, let’s just draft one.” A child could do that. It’s smart to say, “let’s draft an OT we really like now and we are safe if something happens in the next year or two and we have to cut ties with Tyron Smith” The Bills go, “oh man, we don’t have anyone at WR, we better draft one high.” or in 2021, “oh man, we don’t have anyone at CB, we better draft one high.” That strategy can work despite itself, and all teams do a little bit of it, but it’s a bad drafting strategy overall. It’s how you end up always playing catch up at the big time positions. 49ers saw a potentially divorce with their stellar WR group. Took one they liked in the first to get ahead of it. Proactive. Bills had to take a WR because they painted themselves into a corner and had no other choice. Reactive.
  9. Hill was only there for 2 of the 4 seasons. The Chiefs scored 1449 from 2020-2022. 483 pt average per year. The Bills scored 1439 from 2020-2022. 479 pt average per year. In 2023, the two ships diverged. Chiefs scored 371. Because of their crappy talent. Bills scored 451.
  10. I think he’d have been the GOAT regardless. As evidenced by his ability to change those circumstances and win anyways.
  11. I think Mara wanted Jones more than Schoen and Daboll did.
  12. Yep. Brady would still be the GOAT. He has proven this. He won immediately without the GOAT coach in his 40s. Any argument against Brady being the GOAT is dead. So is Brady the GOAT?
  13. We could probably try the “who has more yards in 2024, Franklin or Shorter” but I bet no one would want to play lol
  14. FWIW Troy Franklin was given a prospect grade of 6.35 by NFL.com and an 84 by their Next Gen Stats. Justin Shorter was given a 6.12 and 54 by their Next Gen Stats.
  15. I think there’s an argument that Brady would have been less successful and Peyton more successful than the way their careers shook out. Something like 4 rings to 3 in favor of Brady. I think that there’s ZERO chance that Peyton ends with 7 rings and Brady ends with 2. Zero point zero zero. that’s controversial as HELL lol.
  16. If McDermott has 1 million fans, then I’m one of them. If McDermott has 1 fan, then I’m THAT ONE. If McDermott has no fans, that means I’m dead.
  17. Can you just admit you’re a “Peyton Manning would be better than Brady if he was in New England” guy like @HappyDays. Just let yourself be free. He has a space at the table for you.
  18. Brother, you were trying to argue that Chris Jones disrupting a pass into incomplete on 2nd and 7 was super impactful play. a forced fumble out of the end zone that kept 7 points off the board and gave Buffalo the ball back in a one score game was a fluke and doesn’t count. Because, reasons. Talk about setting up limited parameters. Name a play that Josh Allen did to win the game vs Kansas City last year, but don’t include his flukey TD’s. Because I said so. YES YES YES. Finally. My heart is full.
  19. This argument has been happening since football has existed. I’m old enough to remember that Montana/Brady was a debate because Montana was 4-0 in the big one when Brady was 4-2. When Josh finishes his career with 1+ SB wins, they will absolutely be used by fans to rank him ahead of guys like Marino, Kelly etc etc.
  20. If Josh Allen had 3 SB’s, I’m sure we would all hear about how QB wins aren’t real in this debate. I have found a new adage. “Folks discount QB wins only when their QB hasn’t won.” The forced fumble on the goal line was the biggest defensive stop in the entire game. Probably had the biggest impact on win probability of any defensive play that game. The Chiefs win probability was 79.1% before that play. “A bit flukey” that Poyer punched it out and legitimately saved the game. Of course, it doesn’t count really, because it’s inconvenient.
  21. Dallas. Philly. San Fran.
  22. I’m asking @DrDawkinstein because he asked the question, “We win consistently, sure. But how often in all those wins are we left thinking "wow, this team was ready in all phases and had great game plans and completely shut down the other team thanks to coaching" vs "damn, Josh really did his thing".” He set the terms of his argument, which I challenged. My personal definition of “ready in all phases and had great gameplans” included players not playing like ***** all year lol. If your argument is that the Chiefs WR’s played like ***** all year because they were *****, and not because Reid forgot how to coach, you are making my argument for me. Hey man, give me BB and Daboll post Giants firing in 2025 and I think we will cook with gas. I loved Dabs.
