  1. Yeah. I don’t see this extension and Garrett happening now. I would have rather traded a 1st and a 2nd and paid Garrett $34M than paid Rousseau $20M.
  2. If they don’t, I’m very sure Beane will say “we prioritized getting all our guys back” Which is why I hate this extension.
  3. That’s fair. i think you are way off though. I don’t think they are adding 1 $15m AAV player now, let alone 2. We shall see!
  4. You should watch the AFCCG again and focus on Rousseau. If I seem harsh, it’s because he deserves it. He was flat out awful. Not only did Jawan Taylor take his lunch money (and we all know that he isn’t an OT worth a damn) but on the rare plays where Rousseau did penetrate the backfield, he got flat out beat in pass pro and legitimately pancaked by Kareem Hunt lol. So yeah, that’s why I said it. Because it’s what happened.
  5. Do you think these extensions make it more or less likely?
  6. Do you think the Bills are going to acquire more top end talent after all of these extensions?
  7. He ain’t worth it because I don’t think he’s good enough and it’s a salary cap league. You are EXTREMELY welcome to disagree. Hopefully you are right. I don’t think you are lol
  8. Um 3 AFCW teams were in the playoffs last year.
  9. The Bears overpaying for guys with more potential than production is kinda what they do. Their roster has been awful and they have money to burn. If the bar is “better than the Bears,” sure it’s good business. They have certainly been a well-run and stable group for a long time.
  10. lol I called the Shakir extension excellent. You hear what you want to hear. Sorry I didn’t like the idea of paying an 6-8 sack per year guy $20M last year and I still didn’t like it this year. i will try to adjust my opinions accordingly to what the Bills do so I always like whatever happens!
  11. The one category that I know Rousseau led the league in is “amount of times pancaked into the earth by the Chiefs backup running back.”
  12. But that’s kind of the point right? Greenard and Highsmith both had individual seasons where they had DE1 production PRIOR to getting paid. Sure, they weren’t necessarily going to replicate that year in or out but there was the proven upside. If we are taking odds on which guys finish their careers with more double digit sack seasons, both Greenard and Highsmith are more likely than Greg, right? I said it last offseason. I was hoping Greg took off and had 12-14 sacks and put the conversation about extending to rest. I would’ve rather him had a 14 sack year and paid him $30M than have his usual 8 and pay him $20M. I stand by that. Beane has extended two drafted EDGEs, given a pass rushing DT a big extension and signed another EDGE to a large FA deal in the last 3 or 4 seasons and our biggest need is STILL pass rush. THATS bad business
  13. You were the one who was convinced we were trading for DK or Aiyuk last offseason, then we opened week 1 with MVS as our big acquisition, right?
  14. Um Greenard is coming off two years of 12 sack seasons. Highsmith had a 14.5 sack season not too long ago and had 6 in 11 games last year. Bryce Huff is an overpaid pass rush specialist who was a non-factor for his new team. So we are really paying Greg in that “two guys who are considerably more impactful than him and one of the worst overpays of the offseason last year” range. The bottom line is that most of us would rather pay Garrett $35M than Greg $20M. It’s more valuing 4 quarters over a dollar and it’s bad strategy if done too much imo.
  15. Damar Hamlin led all Bills safeties in tackles, TFLs and INT’s. Do we open negotiations with $20M or $25M AAV?
  16. Good thing we didn’t tie up a bunch of money in another good but not great player like Ed Oliver who isn’t even good enough to help Rousseau’s production. oh
  17. Um Josh was second team AP and top 2 in MVP voting when he got extended. there was virtually no backlash to his extension. Comparing that circumstance to Greggs 25 sacks in 4 seasons is apples to orangutans.
  18. Running back the 2024 roster is so on-brand it hurts. jump balls to Mack Hollins in 2025. Josh will probably win MVP again.
  19. A hilarious offer. Get an elite EDGE with no QB and 1 WR.
  20. Yup. Both him and Edwards do just feel older for whatever reason.
  21. My hot take is that Mitch Morse was a better center than Wood. Wood had the benefit of being one of the few OL players worth a damn on the Bills for a large part of his career, which makes him seem a lot better.
  22. Love this one. lets break it down. is Josh Allen a top 2 QB in football? Yes of course, right? Is Brandon Beane a top 2 GM? Is Sean McDermott a top 2 HC? Is there anyone on the Bills top 2 at their position? Is the entire Bills roster top 2 in talent? The answer to every question other than the one about Josh is clearly “no,” to everyone. So they are legitimately all second-rate, relatively. Except for Josh. Fun stuff!
  23. One of the best Chargers ever? Is he even the best Chargers pass rusher ever? I mean he was a good player once upon a time but that’s a bridge too far.
  24. I think there’s a far better case to going the opposite direction because that’s where the value is. Put another way, is the difference between the average 3rd 4th or 5th round pick and a street FA on a normal deal that great? I would argue it’s not. And the difference in cap savings isn’t all that great either. Yet no street FA would EVER be traded for a pick like that because they obviously place MASSIVE value on the potential of those players. A potential that in the majority of cases will never be realized. That’s the sweet spot to target. You have 32 teams that all have this artificial inflated value placed on nebulous, unrealized potential. Being the one team to deviate and go the opposite direction has you playing in a completely different sandbox by yourself. You’d need an owner who is willing to write checks for sure, but I think it could achieve success. Especially for teams that don’t have “elite” QB’s. You look at a team like the Buccaneers who have a good QB, a good team but probably not top 5 in anything. Are they better off drafting the same guys, letting FAs walk out the door, and just hoping they get lucky? Or are they better off trading 2 firsts for Garrett, a second for DK, a fifth for Deebo, a 4th for Thuney etc etc and simply trying to overwhelm the rest of the league with talent? Sure there may be some cap pain 5 years from now but who cares? Most of their core group will be gone or retired and they will be back on the 6 win carousel regardless.
