  1. Feel like this is 90% of McDs resume.
  2. Not really. i think @Buffalo716 is over the top with his McD praise, but I do believe him and Beane do deserve credit for identifying and developing Allen. As well as overhauling the Bills losing culture. Now maybe if Payton is here in 2017, we feel comfortable drafting Mahomes and the Chiefs miss out on him, but the fact of the matter is if Payton was fired, he wouldn’t have ever considered Buffalo as a destination in 2017. And that’s kinda the problem I see with McD, largely. He deserves credit for Allen and the Bills turnaround. But what we need in 2025 and what we needed in 2017 are very different and that’s why I don’t think he’s too good to fire. If Payton was coach in 2020 to now, do I think we would’ve done better? Absolutely. But I wasn’t ready to fire McD then and can’t really hold that against anyone.
  3. To echo that, a 5 year agreement would be basically a 5 alarm fire they are pending a sale for me lol.
  4. Bingo. Everyone universally agrees he’s pretty good. Everyone universally agrees he’s not close to the best. The majority of folks with worse would gladly take him tomorrow and the few folks with better are glad they don’t have him. Perfect analogy.
  5. You are a Payton guy, but if McD went 7-9 three straight years with prime Josh Allen, there would be blood in the streets. Payton had the better highs, but I don’t think he’s THAT much better tbh.
  6. The greatest HC of all time was like .500 without the greatest QB of all time. I think it’s safe to say McDermott isn’t in Bill Belichick territory, no? Speculating he would be far better than the greatest coach ever is kind of a bridge too far imo.
  7. There is a way to know. Before Josh was routinely in MVP conversations, McDermott’s winning% was .520. He is a good coach. Josh is the reason he has an elite winning percentage.
  8. Absolutely, especially considering who those SBs were against. Part of Eli’s argument to get in is Jim Kelly. A guy who was never really the best or stacked a ton of awards but did an incredible achievement multiple times. Jim with the 4 straight and Eli with TWO improbable Superbowls against the dynasty of his time, including against an 18-0 team. and I think that’s right. They should both get in for that. You are thinking correct because that’s already happened in February.
  9. It was done with callousness. It was the start of COVID. PSE was losing money. Folks were afraid they were gonna lose their jobs. Kim held an organizational meeting. Talked about how they weren’t going to be getting raises. Said one of their organizational goals was to maintain the Pegulas’ lifestyle. At its MOST CHARITABLE, it was incredibly tone deaf and ridiculous. “Over the course of a few days, Pegula addressed various departments via video conference from the family’s home office in Boca Raton, Fla. She explained raises and bonuses should not be expected aside for those, such as coaches and players, contracted to receive them. Budgets would be scrutinized. Times ahead were going to be difficult, Pegula stressed, and sacrifices must be made. The tone underscored worries that had been circulating among workers at various Pegula Sports and Entertainment properties.” “Kim Pegula’s video presentation included a rundown of organizational objectives. One particular slide, titled “Pegula Family Goals,” shook executives and lower-level employees alike. A handout version of the slide, obtained and verified by The Athletic, listed the Pegulas’ three chief objectives: win championships, sustainability, return on investment. Pegula, current and former employees say, explained that return on investment included maintaining the family’s lifestyle” Times are tough and some of you won’t get raises but we still need to keep our PJ is just horrific leadership at face value.
  10. Mike McCarthy doesn’t coach defense lol
  11. They had a PowerPoint slide to PSE employees talking about how they needed to maintain the Pegulas lifestyle, just after they told folks they weren’t going to get raises. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/1758235/2020/04/20/as-pegulas-face-business-challenges-employees-describe-a-toxic-culture-at-pse/
  12. Kelly is just one stat though. 4 straight Super Bowls. That's the stat. Otherwise, he is 1990s Phil Rivers lite. Hall of Very Good.
  13. NHL properties? I thought we were talking about the Sabres.
  14. Kelly deserves the Hall because he was part of an all time team that went to 4 straight Super Bowls. The case for Eli Manning to make the hall is not dissimilar to Jim Kelly. Kelly was never a top 3 QB of his era though. Not really even close.
  15. Pegs may be the first major sports owner in the US to sell a professional team at a loss. I’m not sure he can give the Sabres away. This is the first I have ever heard of the “Knighthawks” existing. Not super concerned.
  16. You won’t get flamed for speaking the truth. He wasn’t a number 1 talent. He was a high volume target on a team with next to no receiving talent. David Nelson was WR2 with 97 !!!!! targets in 2011. He was just an above average player on a team filled with very bad ones. Much like Freddy, who I love.
  17. The vibes in Miami are so bad though. GM and HC are dead men walking and it feels like half the org knows it. Tyreek and Jalen Ramsey actively want out. I feel like if they start off 1-2 or 2–3, they will fall apart completely.
  18. Jim Kelly better send back his jacket.
  19. Yes, Stevie was underrated and tough to cover. His 37 yards didn't routinely make Revis look like trash lol. Stevie was averaging ~60 YPG back in those days. Don't let your AI bot do your thinking for you.
  20. He had some good moments. Just for fun, can you ask your AI what Sammy Watkins did to Revis?
  21. 5 games for 15 catches and 185 yards is 3 catches for 37 yards average per game. Thats making a CB look like trash?
  22. McDaniel gets impatient and can’t stick with it. he couldn’t wait to get back to dialing up Tua intermediate balls when they were getting 8 YPC in that game.
  23. I really like Haliburton a lot so I don’t say this to be rude. But he’s kind of like a glue guy superstar. The Pacers offense doesn’t need him to get 25-30 points for them to win like a traditional scoring superstar. So really, unlike OKC if SGA was out, I think they have a good chance of weathering the storm.
  24. Classic Achilles just like Rodgers and Durant. Sucks to see
