If the Bills Don’t Make it to the AFCCG, Should McDermott Be Fired?
FireChans replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
Um, how do you figure? Like what examples of teams with franchise QB's fired their HC and failed to find someone better or at least the same? Packers fired McCarthy after 2 down years with Rodgers and hired LaFleur. They went 13-3 3 years straight. Rodgers won 2 MVPs. They didn't win a Superbowl either, but it certainly wasn't worse than McCarthy. The Denver example with John Fox and Kubiak is apt, as previously discussed. Tony Dungy retired from the Colts in 2008. They hired Caldwell and went back to the SB that next year (losing it) and went 14-2. Marty was Phil Rivers' coach in San Diego, they went 14-2 but couldn't get past the divisional round. They fired him and hired Norv and were in the conference championship the next year. Norv eventually puttered out to being a .500 coach, they hired McCoy who also puttered out as a .500 coach. Eli had Coughlin, who was eventually fired for 3 straight losing seasons, and Bob McAdoo took them to 11-5 (he was a bum eventually though) So I mean, really, how do you think its more common? On bad teams, sure. On teams with franchise QB's who all but guarantee you close to winning record on their own? Nah. -

I think its more the bolded. Folks will say Kaiir Elam was a disconnect, but I think he's just a bust. I think the defensive engine and FA/draft have been mostly aligned. But I swear, they make moves that make me wonder if Dorsey is even involved in decisions on offense. Hines is one of them. Kincaid is another. Its like Dorsey just kinda finds out these guys are on the roster last. -
Are people really that unhappy with our 4-2 Bills?

Yet another dose of verbal diarrhea from @eball. You know, this topic about perspective would be a little bit more profound if you didn't make it every. single. year. You like to be a Bills fan by being a cheerleader. Cool. Happy for you. You have optimism and hope because you see the sun come up the next day. Some people like to be fans in different ways. Some of them watch the All-22 and really try to break it down. Some people know more about X's and O's than you. Some people pretend they do. To me, personally, I thought the success of this season was predicated on an offense that would be improved from all the silly "rookie OC" or poor talent-related mistakes and hiccups from last year. To my eye, it may honestly be worse. Things may change. It's a long season. But I was hoping the Bills offense would look better than last year, and so far they haven't and so far, there goes my hope we are gonna win a Superbowl. But again, cool you prefer cheerleading instead. -
They are 5-1.

Because despite being unable to get over the hump, imo McD isn’t completely out of good will. -

Dorsey fired this year, McD fired next year. -
I could be wrong, but we know Beane’s idea of “moving the needle” last year was signing retired Cole Beasley lol
-
ok

Eagles only have AJ Brown, Devonta Smith and Dallas Goedert and they are still searching for more WR talent. Bills are watching Sherfield run in quick sand and saying “nah, we’re good.”

What kind of football background do you have?

In your high school, coaches meetings were called “gym.” -
Because you don’t get to play that game. It’s a results oriented business. Beane and McD made choices. They chose to let Edmunds walk and start Bernard. It was clearly the right move, and they deserve a lot of credit for that call. It does not matter if they were trying to resign Edmunds and he got priced out. They chose to address the WR room with Deonte Harty and Sherfield. It was clearly the WRONG move and they deserve blame for that decision. It does not matter that they looked into other options that they didn’t execute on.

That was sarcasm my dude

Go look at 2020’s numbers. thanks. ”Living in fantasy land” except the Bills had 3 productive receivers like 3 years ago lmao
-
But if we’re getting shredded on the ground, why is Taron Johnson playing in coverage? checkmate!

This is borderline abuse at this point. I'm going to delete this thread from my memory because it is a potent virus capable of destroying brain cells.

McD and Daboll hate each other probably 🤣
FireChans replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Both were probably just pissed at that awful game. -
You simply cannot tell me that it was a good idea for Taron Johsnon to cover Waller, despite Johnson making a play to cover Waller. Unfathomable.
-
No, you tell me. Because you complained we got shredded. Then I told you the Giants scored 9 points and were 0/4 in the RZ, and you said "good job stopping Taylor and the USFL crew." Did we stop them or did we get shredded? Are games decided by how many plays you have in a drive? Someone should let ESPN know the Giants had a 9 play drive and update those standings lmao.

Like I said, there are a million valid criticism and he's flailing trying to land on one. Not everyone is built for TBD life.
