  1. https://x.com/adamschefter/status/1719580362995884472?s=46&t=GGNmxHtuMQWK-ZEccAMZsQ lmao
  2. Whatever you say lmao. The only players on the market were the ones traded today I guess lol. A nice fishbowl worldview. I noticed you dodged the question on if Elam is a Bill today if Beane was offered a day 2 pick. Probably because you know the answer.
  3. "We don't want folks trying to trade for him because he's so bad his value is basically zero" is pretty much implied from the bolded. Which is just not how NFL teams operate. Elam being inactive so many weeks ABSOLUTELY means he is on the market. You know who isn't on the market? Josh Allen. Dion Dawkins. Terell Bernard. Guys who play and have value to their team RIGHT NOW. Everyone else is on the market. If a GM calls Beane and says "hey we're interested in Elam, want to make a deal?," do you think Beane is saying "No thanks, he has tremendous value to us on the healthy scratch list every week, I don't even want to hear your offer." OF COURSE NOT. THAT'S INSANE. Every GM in the NFL knows the deal with Elam. He is not a roster untouchable. Some probably tried to buy so low that Beane decided it wasn't worth the cap hit to get a conditional 7th or whatever garbage was offered. However, that doesn't mean he wasn't on the market. If Brandon Beane was offered a day 2 pick for Elam today, do you think Elam is still a Bill? I don't. And if you think yes, then I would say Beane is wrong in that scenario.
  4. Yeah sure, teams definitely say, “man this draft bust sucks so bad, I hope no one tries to trade for him,” lmao. If teams were poking around on Elam and offering conditional 7ths, yeah Beane probably said no. But Elam being inactive pretty much every week means he was on the market, and every other GM knew it.
  5. No I know they can't. But it's why it's so funny that fans are like "they said this was their best player on their board left!"
  6. He actually sucked last year. Tell me you don’t watch the games without telling me you don’t watch the games.
  7. Just once, I’d love to see a GM be like “yeah, we missed out on one of our targets so we took this dude because we needed a CB.”
  8. This is correct. Elam was 100% available for anything of value. A conditional 7th if he makes it through camp next year is completely worthless at this point. And so here he remains.
  9. Desperation to show improvement this season. Their FO and coaching staff are not safe if they are picking in the top 2 again.
  10. Gilmore and Lorax would be the only two guys that would start on this roster currently, no? Maybe the younger versions of the safety duo? McCoy was rapidly aging out, the OL was mediocre. The receiving options were disasters. To me, if they can Jauron Ball their way to making the playoff as a tiebreaker on the last play of the season, they aren’t that talented by definition. 11. Counterpoint to none of our first round picks mattering is that the 2017 roster was a bare bones disaster that was lucky to limp in.
  12. One WR would be banking on a productive rookie WR starting immediately on a team trying to contend for a Super Bowl. Not really a great plan for me.
  13. Injured CB1 too, don’t forget. Part of me just thinks, in Beane’s mind, he would be a lot more confident to pull the trigger if we weren’t so decimated on the defense.
  14. Gabe is of low value to the Raiders because they would likely not be interested in paying him big money while dealing with Davantes’ dead hit. I would rather trade picks and stockpile offensive talent. Gabe has more value to us, even as an admittedly limited player than the Raiders. 11 personnel with Diggs, Adams, Davis Kincaid would be filthy.
  15. Let’s start with the basics, how much is Davante due this season? And how much has he already been paid?
  16. Beane is in a tough spot due to the amount of injuries on defense; it’s hard to peg this as our year to go “all in.” I’ve been telling folks for years that the Rams taught us a lesson, but I’m not sure they chase Von that SB run if Ramsey and Donald were hurt and out for the year. It’s crappy timing and I understand the hesitancy. I, personally, don’t care. If I was the GM, I say to hell with it, let’s try to score 40 every game and hope the defense rounds into form and take our shot. the AFC is a wounded beast this season. There’s also a psychological aspect. Trading for Adams invigorates the locker room IMO. Guys start getting excited again, rather than feeling like this season is another slow march to a playoff exit. I say they pull the trigger and don’t look back.
  17. I didn't even realize Marcus Peters was still in the league.
  18. In fairness, there were a lot of people who loved Edmunds in Bills land. they have disappeared and walk among us in shadow now. But we will never forget. They spent two day two picks on linebackers in the last 2 years? How is that “little?”
