Travis Kelce uncertain of future. Mulling retirement
FireChans replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
He was 100% gonna retire if they won and now he’s wondering if he should go out like that. I bet he’s back -
They honestly did a really ugly job replenishing the talent in those groups. Reminded me of Beane’s strategy to build the OL years ago. Bring in 3-4 bargain bin guys and play the best ones. I think WR the position has the value where burning a high pick even if it doesn’t work is good value. A second on a safety when DB development is our HC’s specialty and that second round pick having a disastrous rookie year is like worst case scenario across the board. Bad value, bad process, AND bad outcome.

Totally. Harbaugh has had 3 coordinator changes in the last 4 years. Only one was poached. It happens.
-
ST coordinators aren’t the same as OC’s and DC’s lol. ST coordinators mean very little.

This is now on Beane, no question he needs to step up.

Josh Allen just won MVP because he dragged this crew to the AFCCG. The league has spoken. They aren’t underrating this roster, you are overrating it. -
When you suck worse in coverage than Damar Hamlin who also sucks, you kinda don’t want that guy on the field. Even Keon started week 1 and he was arguably not even ready to start but showed enough good things. Anyway, back on topic, I like Holland a lot, I think he would improve our back-end a lot, but I don’t like the Bills spending a second round pick on a safety then signing the best FA safety on the market. Just seems like bad business.

He sucked in almost all of them. Are you still a “play Elam more” guy or can we admit that sometimes guys really don’t deserve to play more?
-
Do you think Beane wants to draft good defensive linemen but McD tells him to draft crappy ones instead? What is the argument here

I think it’s more that folks trust Josh + good receivers to deliver in crunch time over defense with additional stars coached by McD. Thats really it. -

I disagree entirely. josh had the ball in his hands with 3 min to go down 3. We also could’ve gone up two scores without resorting to a QB sneak that was called short. We legitimately were one receiver other than Mack Hollins delivering on offense from winning that game. -

Yes philosophically the chiefs are playing chess to our checkers when it comes to WR. I guess my point was that good vs bad process doesn’t matter as much if you get the right guy. it’s the ultimate make-up. If Beane had nailed BTJ instead of Coleman or Worthy or whoever, it erases what, 2 years of WR mistakes? It honestly does. -

KC’s WR room was so bad post Hill they had to trade for Toney and Hopkins. Huh? Are we still talking about the same team lol -

You can say that, and you have a fair point but the other point is that WR would still be glaring need in 2025 even if we had pulled the trigger on a BTJ trade, but we would all feel much better about the WR group in general. You can give a guy grace on individual failures but individual successes make all the difference. -

Keon isn’t good enough to have 3x more touches. Obviously. As evidenced by him having 8 targets in the playoffs and ending up with 3 catches for 22 yards lol. But hey, don’t take it from me, take it from the guy who drafted him. “I wish he had finished the season stronger,” Beane said in his Thursday morning press conference “I would say probably was a little disappointed in the return from the injury,” he said about Coleman’s final six games. “I did not see the same player down the stretch from a physicality, some of the things that he needs to use his size.” Make sure you write a letter to One Bills Drive and let the GM who drafted him with this first pick that he was wrong for being disappointed in Coleman’s performance and that he was actually awesome. -

Coleman’s 2024 season - 16 games, 33 touches, 587 yards 4 TDs Worthy’s 2024 season - 20 games, 101 touches, 1037 yards, 12 TDs Ahhhh it’s so hard to know who was better in 2024! -
Is Nick Siriani, the second best coach in the NFL currently.
FireChans replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
That “if” is doing heavy lifting. also, the way the top-end HCs stay in business is keeping their jobs even if the team doesn’t perform. Harbaugh survived 3 straight years not making the playoffs. Would Sirianni? Tomlin survives being a first round exit every year. Would Sirianni? Shanny survived missing the postseason this year after being an SB team last year. Would Sirianni? The answers to all these questions are so obvious, it’s obvious why @Chaos refuses to answer them. Spoilers: it’s because he knows the answer and is likely trolling with the “Sirianni is the second best HC in football” take. -

Um, Worthy had way more yards and also didn’t have much competition on the boundary. Thats the point. Coleman also had 12 starts. He started week 1. He played 1 game that he didn’t start all year. Was the intention of your post to support my point? -

Imagine the opportunity Coleman could’ve had if his only competition on the boundary was a lifelong gunner/run blocking WR. -

What’s very funny to me is that Coleman had probably the least competitive WR group he will ever have in Buffalo (hopefully). His competition for targets was a disappointing TE, a slot guy, and a gaggle of MVS, Curtis Samuel and Mack Hollins. He may be WR4 in target share next year. He should have been WR1 or WR2 by default this year. -

I think their mystique is broken a bit for sure. Remember that stupid story of Kelce telling the punt returner to be great lol. God I’m so glad they got their ass kicked.
