That’s the real problem. beane has his wires crossed. He spends 2nd and 3rds on RB’s and 5th’s and 6th’s on WRs. He should’ve been doing it the other way around imo.

Correct on all accounts. the Araiza thing sucked. It’s easy to be brave and stand for due process when you don’t have to experience any of the consequences. Ultimately, it was a tough decision to can him and I won’t judge them for it.

It’s actually sad because this is the most pressure we have ever put on Josh to carry an offense since 2018. Which is sad because that’s a sentence that we should have never had to utter. 2019 should have been the bare minimum effort in a receiving group year after year.

The Niners have Kyle Shanahan, Deebo Samuel, Trent Williams, Brandon Aiyuk, Nick Bosa, George Kittle, Fred Warner, Hufunga, Dre Greenlaw. We don’t. I agree that if the Bills had 2 great WR’s, an elite offensive coach, a HoF LT, a top 4 EDGE, two of the best linebackers in the NFL, a top 3 TE, and a really good safety, maybe a backup QB could do some damage on this roster.

Man I just do not know what to expect with the WR’s. I guess I’d expect us to be near the lead in the league in bunch sets? It’s hard to imagine lining up both Samuel and Shakir on non-bunches and finding success. I like the idea of lining up in traditional 12 then motioning into a bunch set with Samuel and Kincaid and playing find the LB. Ultimately, this team feels like they need an elite mismatch guy and a creative OC and they can be pretty dangerous. Whether that’s optimistic or damning with faint praise is hard to tell

Imagine if the Bills and the Chiefs had the best and the second best records in football because they had the top 2 QB’s in football. That stat says more about Josh than Beane, imo.

The stat was for 20-30. It was the best I could find. i don’t know if 18-30 makes a difference, because it was a stat about drafted players and neither of the two players you mentioned were drafted there.

No. We didn’t even make it to the final four. A better backup QB would not have made the different last year. We could have saved some dollars and paid Hopkins and maybe we don’t lose a close game to the Chiefs? Who knows. All I know is that Josh Allen has been our QB for almost 7 years and we haven’t missed a Super Bowl because of his backup yet. Let me know when they join this millennium. Don’t forget to warn them about Y2K.

It’s actually exactly my point. Footbal is a zero sum game. Any investment in backup QB is less investment elsewhere. focus on the player that helps us win the 3 point game in the playoffs, not the guy who is sitting on the bench.

That list wouldn’t know. Tre White was prior to Beane’s time. Edmunds went to 2 ProBowls and Beane let him walk rather than pay him. Oliver never made a Pro Bowl Rousseau never made a Pro Bowl Elam never made a Pro Bowl Kincaid never made a Pro Bowl. Of the first and second round picks Beane has made since signing on as GM (which is 10 non-Josh picks since 2018), there are 3 ProBowls total, and 2 of them were by a guy who we let walk and doesn’t play here no mo. So yeah, that list is a who’s who of average, at best. They called that an “extremely good list” lol. I think that’s a bridge too far.

There are way more jobs for QBs than there are good QB’s. How hard do you try to invest in a backup QB? A QB that you won’t even know is worth a damn til they step on the field, and that you are hoping they never do? ”Pure negligence” lol. Good list. Rousseau had a funny night. I’ve been hard on him needing to step up as a pass rusher and he put on a show last night. My only quibble is that I think he just did the same pass rush power move over and over and over? I have to rewatch but that’s what it looked like.
