I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better

Probably barely 12 ish means I win if they get to 10 by like 3 points total lol -

I mean, the Bills have been 6th, 2nd, 3rd and 2nd in the last four years. Dropping to 11 would be bad with the second best QB in football. -

Tyler Bass could become elite. Ray Davis could be elite. The backup DT we took could be elite. I don't know why we talk about anything at all. We have all these dudes that are just waiting to be elite. Then the concern about the talent decrease was overblown or even misplaced. -

We haven’t played with the dearth of talent yet. If our point total drops ~80 points this year, we’re all gonna know the reason why. -

Why stop there? Claypool and Hamler have potential to be elite. Mack Hollins has potential to be elite. -
The bolded has nothing to do with what I said. Like zero. For a team that has been trying to find a safety, it’s telling that they haven’t drafted one high in years and years. You know why? Because it’s bad value. I’m not sure you are following the argument at all. Tyron Smith had been hurt on and off but played 11 games the year before they drafted Smith. Some teams may have said it was just bad luck. The Cowboys saw the writing on the wall. Good for them.

The Chiefs averaged 29.6 PPG in 2020 Are you trying to be wrong on purpose? -

The “optimists” are invoking the memories of the 2017 roster backing into the playoffs. We really are doomed in 2024. This is exhibit A.- 62 replies

Okay. let’s just ask another way. Why was the Chiefs offense so bad last year? -

No they scored 21 with Henne in 2020. -

Sure, but we could probably play that game on step further and throw out games that Mahomes didn't play because they locked up the one seed. -

That’s true. But still, the meme of “we outscored the Chiefs over the last 4 years” is really driven by last year, when the Chiefs offense kinda sucked all year, and is a defense for replicating that strategy to have the same sucky offense for some reason. -
Is it? in 2020, they went WR and CB with their first two picks. Despite having Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup at WR. 2 years later, Cooper is gone and they have their new #1 WR already in place. In 2021, they went BPA at pick kne and took Micah Parson, a superstar EDGE. In 2022, they took an OT/OG in the first, despite having Tyron Smith playing at an excellent level. Of course, he got hurt and then eventually left, and they have their replacement already there. In 2024, they drafted ANOTHER OT in first, despite all of that above. Why? Because they focus on premium players at premium positions. Because they realize that needs change fast in the NFL, and players at OT/WR/CB are ALWAYS gonna get paid. It’s easy to say, “oh we lost our left tackle/WR, let’s just draft one.” A child could do that. It’s smart to say, “let’s draft an OT we really like now and we are safe if something happens in the next year or two and we have to cut ties with Tyron Smith” The Bills go, “oh man, we don’t have anyone at WR, we better draft one high.” or in 2021, “oh man, we don’t have anyone at CB, we better draft one high.” That strategy can work despite itself, and all teams do a little bit of it, but it’s a bad drafting strategy overall. It’s how you end up always playing catch up at the big time positions. 49ers saw a potentially divorce with their stellar WR group. Took one they liked in the first to get ahead of it. Proactive. Bills had to take a WR because they painted themselves into a corner and had no other choice. Reactive.

Hill was only there for 2 of the 4 seasons. The Chiefs scored 1449 from 2020-2022. 483 pt average per year. The Bills scored 1439 from 2020-2022. 479 pt average per year. In 2023, the two ships diverged. Chiefs scored 371. Because of their crappy talent. Bills scored 451. -
How close is Allen to Mahomes if all things were equal?
FireChans replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he’d have been the GOAT regardless. As evidenced by his ability to change those circumstances and win anyways. -
I think Mara wanted Jones more than Schoen and Daboll did.

Yep. Brady would still be the GOAT. He has proven this. He won immediately without the GOAT coach in his 40s. Any argument against Brady being the GOAT is dead. So is Brady the GOAT? -

We could probably try the “who has more yards in 2024, Franklin or Shorter” but I bet no one would want to play lol -

FWIW Troy Franklin was given a prospect grade of 6.35 by NFL.com and an 84 by their Next Gen Stats. Justin Shorter was given a 6.12 and 54 by their Next Gen Stats.
