Is there a comparison available for the other contenders (SF, Niners, Philly etc?) I would imagine most playoff teams can hope for .500 against other playoff teams.

The off-season discourse around the Bills was always funny. We lived through the Pats dynasty. Best QB in the division + best HC in the division equals cruising to division titles. Doesn’t matter if the team is less talented than the year prior. But of course, folks were out here thinking we were a 7 win team. Foolish then, foolish now.

If the other teams gameplan is “let Josh throw to Mack,” that kinda tells you all you need to know, right? I think we are having two different conversations. Mack can clearly be productive with Josh throwing him the ball. He was the most productive WR this week, so props for that. Like I said above, if the opposing teams gameplan is “let Josh throw to Mack” that should be some kind of indicator to his ability. I don’t blame Mack for Cooper/Coleman being hurt or for him being the best of a weak bunch otherwise. I still think that’s all he is, despite catching a deep pass that Josh had to scramble to create, that we’ve seen lots of lesser WR’s do in Josh’s tenure.

No. I just don’t think it’s a coincidence that when Mack is more involved, Josh has pretty bad stat lines. Mack’s great game and Josh’s 66 passer rating seem inherently linked imo. Just like when Mack got a team leading 6 targets vs Houston and Josh completed 9 passes. Or when Mack was second on the team in targets vs Baltimore and Josh had a 73.9 passer rating and we lost by 25. I want Mack to be Hines Ward. I don’t think he is.

Hey come on now. We haven’t had any embarrassing losses like losing a playoff game after scoring a go-ahead TD with 13 seconds left, or shanking a game-tying FG wide right by like 20 yards.

Their divisional rival went to the SB 2 years ago and has been a playoff team 3 of the last 4 years (and will likely be a playoff team this year) That’s better than every single divisional opponent in the AFCE, right?

We also have the far better QB than Dallas does. Dak is good, but he isn’t Josh Allen. If we switch Josh and Dak the last 4 seasons, does Dallas look more like Buffalo and Buffalo more like Dallas? I think so. This topic solely exists as revisionist history to kick Dallas when they are down and to rewrite that they haven’t been one of the best teams in the NFC the last 3 years.

I find the obsession with the Cowboys very odd. They won 12 games the last 3 seasons. 2 division titles in that span. They had a little bit of talent erosion, as all teams do, had a down year and their QB got hurt. trying to pain their last 4 years as some kind of systemic failure of Jerry Jones is really just entirely inaccurate.

And we are back to what I originally said. By design or not, he doesn’t produce in the passing game because he can’t. If we threw him the ball 10 times, like we did vs Houston, he would stink. There’s other guys of his similar level on lots of teams. None of them play more than Mack and underproduce him.

I mean, the only game where Josh HAD to throw to Mack, Josh had one of the worst games of his career and Amari was a Bill a week later. this circular logic is bizarre. You don’t understand Mack’s role in the offense is 100% based on his ability in this offense. If Mack was a better WR, would he have better production playing #2 WR snaps? Of course he would. But he’s out there blocking and not touching the football BECAUSE HE SUCKS AT IT. You think it’s a coincidence that Mack makes minimal impact on the stat sheet. It’s just “because of his role.” His role is what it is because it’s ALL THAT HE CAN DO. It’s Reggie Gilliam getting 60% plus of snaps.
