That HoF coach Dungy lost to the Herm Edwards’ Jets in the WC, the Pats in the AFCCG, the Pats in the divisional, the Steelers in the divisional in a four year span. With PEYTON MANNING, Harrison, Wayne. But McD only basically losing to the GOAT is somehow malpractice. Dungy is a HoFer despite losing to Chad Pennington and McD should be sweeping up movie theaters because he can’t regularly beat what might end up being the greatest QB/Coach combo of all time.

Bills spent the second most in the nfl on defense
FireChans replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I didn’t like having no depth or other young prospects in the wings as a boundary WR for effectively two seasons. It would’ve been nice to have a young second year role player who could have maybe seen his snap count increase when Diggs lost a step or if Gabe got hurt, both of which happened this season. Instead we watched Trent Sherfield and last year Jake the Snake Kumerow play out their fantasy of being actual NFL players. But really, that wasn’t a problem because of defensive spending. Just a failure to target a completely obvious move. Now we are painted into a corner of drafting one this year high, and god help Beane if it’s another Quentin Johnston bust. -
At least as far as McD is not “better than McD.” You tried to stretch out your definition. There’s no real reason to nitpick “a few.” Half of these people are absolute jokes to include. The other half has just as much failure at their feet as McD does. “McD is wasting Josh Allen” like LaFleur did getting blown out by the Niners every year with Rodgers? I guess wasting the last 5 years (2 MVP seasons) of a HoF isn’t “malpractice.” Lmao. If you step back and actually examine every HC you listed here instead of crucifying McD, you’d realize that almost none of those guys have proven anything MORE than McD. “Oh no, McD loses to Mahomes in the playoffs, that means he sucks, because other teams get to play the Jags or Texans or Bucs or Lions and then lose to the Chiefs later in the bracket. This is a fair critique”

Because he was defending another teammate.

I challenge you to name 15 better HC’s.

Does this team actually have the guts to move on from Tre White?

This post is hysterical. “Tre White is a JAG except for a few above average seasons.” Well, let’s see: Tre has only 7 seasons in the NFL. He has been hurt and missed large portions of 3 of them. And as you said “injuries aside.” So, looking at the other 4: Second in DROY voting Fifth in DPOY voting First team All Pro Second team All Pro 2x ProBowl. A JAG when he wasn’t an All-Pro. Got it. These troll attempts are so low effort. -
I’m slightly concerned too but the fact of the matter is that Hyde effectively missed 2022, and was a shadow of himself this year with his head falling off. Poyer only slowed down first last year because he was the only one playing so it was obvious. And this year played a lot of dual LB/S big nickel hybrid which allowed him to compensate for the step he clearly lost. The last time we had both safeties playing at the elite level we are accustomed to was probably spots in 21. We have basically made due without that level of play since, retaining a pretty good defense and still being one score away from beating KC. So ultimately, if we get a mid tier FA or a solid rookie, I don’t think the defense is going to miss a beat. Part of that is why I do think McD is a good defensive mind and far better at adapting than folks give him credit for. Once Milano went down, and Dorian Williams played himself off the field, McD brought Poyer down and ran a ton of 3 safety looks. Poyer playing LB was our best option, McD recognized that, and our defense found its level. And it sucks that Taylor Rapp injured himself picking off Tua, because his absence meant we couldn’t use that look against KC without putting Hamlin or Cam Lewis out there, both of who completely suck.

I would like to keep him, think it’s going to be about financially impossible. Tackle market is absurd. Jawaan got 4 for $80M. We don’t have that to throw around.

Unpopular take: The Bills have really not been that talented in this Super Bowl “window” and I’m not that worried about the future because of it. 2020 was probably the peak in terms of overall talent and we were an AFCCG team going up against probably an All-Time Chiefs team. Since then, the water has found it’s level a bit between both of our clubs, which is why that was the last time they ever blew us out. They have a great team/org along with an All-time QB and we have our work cut out for us going forward. But it would not surprise me to beat them in the postseason once or twice in the next few years. We have a better shot than probably every other team than the Bengals.

This is what SUCKS about the modern NFL. Brown had some shaky seasons but he’s always been a physical beast (he was probably the best offensive Bill vs the Cowboys, he was mauling them), and we stuck with him, developed him, and now he’s probably gonna get top 6 RT money by a team like the Texans and we are gonna lose him. So yes, we have found our RT until next seasons, where he plays elsewhere.

I think it would be very bad publicity. -

You admitted its bad PR. I'm not talking about end of the roster guys (spoiler: end of the roster guys are pretty much interchangeable and don't matter all that much), I'm talking about guys like Leonard Floyd, mid tier FA's who might raise eyebrows if the team cut the dude who died on the field and had multiple teams to pick. -

Being an attractive destination for free agents helps winning. -

PR matters. You don't want free agents thinking "Buffalo is the place where they cold-blooded cut the dude who died on the field for them." -
McD puts Beane in a full-nelson on draft day and makes him take a 1T DT in the first round
-
He is. I’m not running away from anything. You just tried to add in “obviously” and something I never said to win. Sad.
-
I never said that. It’s not as fun when you try to pivot and create strawmen because you lost. “obviously going forward.” Oh wait? No. Not obviously.
-
We gave Andy Reid Mahomes!!!!!!!!! He is. He, with a little help from Joe Burrow, is why we haven’t won a Super Bowl yet. That’s a fact.
