They've been figured out. When the fans can call out the tendencies of the OC with a high degree of accuracy imagine what a team doing 30+ hours of film study can do. Dorsey can't innovate or pivot in a meaningful way. Execution is part of it, but the execution is excruciatingly difficult when the other team knows exactly what you're trying to do. It's why we look better up-tempo, because Dorsey has no time to call the same stupid shotgun run.
-
I've waffled back and forth on whether it's warranted to actually fire Dorsey, but the difference between our hurry up offense and what we look like when Dorsey has time to sit back and call plays is undeniable. I'm not qualified to say if Dorsey's scheme isn't being executed properly. I don't know how you can look at our team and say we are playing to our strengths though. He's got to go at this point, and if nothing changes then McDermott should be on the hot seat. I think he's a good coach but whatever he's doing isn't working anymore.

If White isn’t cut. Cold truth is that I think it’s likely we have seen his last snap as a Bill.

I don't know how he wouldn't be starting over Jackson. In my (uneducated) opinion, he's better at almost everything.

He's a tier higher than Levi Wallace, at least.

Hot take regarding McDermott and the end of games
Bruffalo replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
I called McD "not a likeable guy" after the Giants win and I caught a ton of crap for it on this board, with some fellow going off on a tangent about how he has more testosterone or something. For as good as McD is, he does seem like he's always under extreme constant stress. -
I'd love to see the Bills make a splashy mid-season trade, even if it didn't work out.

Bills signing Fournette (for real this time)
Bruffalo replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Right. I get it. I just don't know how detrimental it is. I don't notice Allen getting pressured more when Cook is out there, but I'm sure it's possible. -

This is the best "We got Derrick Henry at home" signing we could have made I guess. It's fine. Just use Cook more though, especially in the passing game. -
Week 8 - Around the NFL (i.e. NOT a Bills thread please)

Maybe the Bears should just throw the ball. Take the kid gloves off, you're gonna lose anyways. -

This is the best example of Stockholm Syndrome that I've ever seen. -
Do you think the offense was better yesterday?
Bruffalo replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen is the best when he's up tempo and able to audible to what he's seeing. Dorsey called a pretty good game, but we still see some dumb plays that just don't work for whatever reason, and they have basically never worked. He needs to be a little less stubborn and move to what the team is best at. -
No coach is ready to win a superbowl until they actually do it. The disconnect between some fans here and the reality of the team is nuts, people saying that McD is worse than some rookie HCs. I don't think McD is perfect, far from it, but there's no reason why he can't win a superbowl. If we had the entire starting defense and were 5-3 I could understand the teeth gnashing, but the circumstances are what they are. They absolutely should be more aggressive and shift to an "offense first" mindset. That's where the future of this season lives or dies by, and they're starting to do it right. This week was a big leap in the right direction.

He's a top 10 coach, full stop, maybe at the tail end of top 5. Has it likely been easier for him because of Allen? Yes, absolutely. Is he the guy who can win it all? I don't see why not. Maybe it's more likely for an offensive mind, but lots of great offensive coaches haven't won a superbowl. It can be a lot worse. Hopefully he grows as a coach and improves. There's lot of things that can be done better, but that's true of virtually every coach in the NFL.

Johnson essentially does that every play. He's so streaky, for like 10 games out of the year he looks like the best Nickel DB in the game, and then the rest you're kind of questioning why he's the starter.

The Ripoff Report: The Good, the Bad and the Irritating
Bruffalo replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
You can't pay him like a #2 WR. He's like Edmunds, he'll probably get a contract that we can't match and honestly that's okay. He's a good player but I truly think he's elevated by just how good Allen is. I'd like to replace him with a high draft pick if possible. -
Look, I think McD has way too much faith in this defense considering the injury situation. I do think we need to be more aggressive, but I'm not sure if I trust Dorsey to be consistent or creative enough to manage that. So it's a rock and a hard place kind of situation.

Beane reportedly looking for LB help (possible rumor)
Bruffalo replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Williams just doesn't look ready, and Dodson is a failed experiment that they should have given up on a season or two ago. Bernard looks fantastic and is a big surprise, to me at least. He's one of the last really dynamic guys we have on the field beside Hyde. I feel like a 1 tech DT is a bigger need but I get LB for sure. -
You can be dynamic in 12 personnel too, the Bills just choose not to do it. Kincaid is a WR, and by all looks of it he's a good one. He should have the second most targets on the team behind Diggs. I've been saying this for weeks: Going to our #3 option WR or TE is going to be more successful than forcing it to Diggs. The quality of DB defending guys like Shakir is way lower than the coverage on Diggs and even Davis. I'm confident that Kincaid will consistently beat a slot DB or LB. We saw it this week, we need to keep that up, and when the defense pivots the attention away from Diggs, that's when your superstar comes out to play.
-
I don’t understand the mentality of putting the game in the hands of your most injured and depleted defense time and time again. Especially when you have a documented history of making questionable (at best) choices in high pressure situations. The Bills dominated and still almost snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. To me, it’s becoming clear that the coaching staff need to pivot.

I would love this move more than anything if we traded for Adams midseason. It's such a "we're winning now, screw you all" move that I'd love to see the Bills have enough confidence to make. Diggs, Adams, and Davis would instantly make us the most threatening big play team in the league (or at least equal to Miami).
