12-5. I think their demise is being exaggerated.

The Bills' best defensive trait right now is the line and they're now playing basically a statue at QB. If anything this helps the Bills tremendously. The secondary (read: the soft zone defense) has tons of trouble when the opposing QB is flushed out of the pocket and has to improvise. I don't see that being a strength of Andy Dalton.

I think so too, these two losses are overblown because of how frustrating they were. The Bills have serious structural problems but I think they're mostly correctable if the coaching staff can get on the same page. There's flashes in every game of what they can be, I don't think it's unreasonable to think they'll be able to adjust.

It's not worse than the drought. I don't understand how anyone could think that. I'd rather have a relevant team that I enjoy watching vs. being a dumpster fire organization that's only slightly enjoyable if you've gotten hammered and jumped through a flaming table beforehand. For a more relevant example: I'd much rather be a Leafs fan, a perpetually decent team that gets booted from the playoffs in round 1 than a Sabres fan. I don't have that luxury.

If the Bills lose this week against Carolina then the sky really is falling. Here's to hoping that the coaching staff has changed their approach on gameplanning because I think that's the main source of our woes.

I think it's more likely that Payton was looking for any reason or excuse why Wilson was hot trash on the field. It's not like he got better on any of his subsequent teams. Allen's job on the Bills is just harder than it needs to be and I imagine it's exhausting. The WRs aren't being put in position to play to their strengths and it shows. The RB room is Cook, Johnson and Davis have regressed. The Bills have been really slow to develop counter punches and they're predictable. If you have elite talent you can get away with poor situational play calling, Allen doesn't have that right now.

You ain't seen nothing yet. Just wait until they get Nate Peterman in there.

This kind of speculation leans on having a conclusion and then trying to work your way backwards to to find evidence. I don't think it's particularly useful. I don't think any of their problems are from being too emotional or not emotional enough. The playcalling has been poor and the skill position talent hasn't been good enough to overcome that, especially during high pressure moments. Allen's commercials have nothing to do with it.

Last season I think you had a pretty solid argument for Ty being the best 3rd down back in the league. He was clutch a number of times. It hasn't panned out this year. After watching some game film analysis, I think Brady came into Monday with a horrible gameplan. The personnel decisions and situational playcalling is part of it, but thematically what he was trying to do didn't make a lot of sense. He wasn't maximizing the Bills strengths or attacking Atlanta's weaknesses. That's my only problem with the "everybody eats" mantra. It should be match up dependent, and you hammer those matchups until they make you stop. One week it should be Cook blowing up gap runs (the only thing that was really working Monday, they should have done more of it), the next week Coleman has a big game against an inferior corner, etc... Trying to keep even distribution of touches within every game makes zero sense to me. It's antithetical to a gameplan, because it makes your gameplan the same every week.

I definitely wouldn't bet against the Bills yet. Year after year they've put themselves into a similar position and dig their way out by the end of November. Have you watched Joe Marino's All-22 breakdown? I don't take his word as gospel, but the losses so far are pretty squarely on coaching and gameplanning. Game script is probably the one thing the Bills have the most control over. I don't buy the argument that the Bills are just so devoid of talent that they can't be competitive. Okay, sure. That wouldn't be in the realm of hardball to me, but I can see where someone may think differently.

I think it would be a pretty horrible sign about the team if he had to, so no, I hope he doesn't start playing "hardball". What would that even look like? Is he going to hold out unless the changes he wants implemented are made a reality? A large portion of the fanbase (and this board) eviscerates players for doing that. Cook did it for like 4 days and people here were losing their minds over it.

Nothing has to be purposely rigged for the rules to be enforced unfairly or with bias. The Bills opponents O-Lines have had a single holding call levied against them in 6 games, do you think that's because they never held? I certainly don't. Intentionally or subconsciously on the part of the refs doesn't particularly matter. There has been a real, verifiable disparity in distribution of calls that goes beyond random chance. Now I'll say this again: The refs are not the only reason why the Bills have lost the last two games, far from it. They are a contributing factor though, and when it appears that those calls or lack thereof are biased or unfounded, it is extremely frustrating. If he's Offside, it's by millimeters. What a trash call.

It points to a pattern of other team's adjusting to the Bills strategies, and the Bills coaching staff being slow to counter. It's hubris.

That's where I'm at as well. This team can still go on a run, but there needs to be some accountability and ownership of the fact that what they've game planned (at least on defense, and situationally on offense) has been a spectacular failure. I think we're all justifiably nervous that the coaching staff won't be able to pivot in a meaningful way.

It feels like they come in with the same exact gameplan every week. We rarely see the Bills take advantage of a matchup or weakness. We don't ever see anything exotic to stifle an opponent's strength either. I'm not smart enough or knowledgeable enough to see the nuance in the gameplan week to week, but wasn't the "everybody eats" plan supposed to be very matchup specific? It doesn't look like they're tailoring the gameplan with that mentality. Somebody make it make sense.

Ozzie Newsome before Flacco is the only one that comes to mind. 2001 Ravens had the best defense since the 85 Bears.

I think it's going to come to a fever pitch with Kevyn Adams. The Sabres are beyond a joke and it's baffling that he still has a job. That being said, I'll gladly sacrifice the Sabres to keep Pegula from messing with the Bills org. I'm fine with coaching staff replacements but I don't trust Terry to actually be involved with the process.

They took Trey Smith in the 4th in the same draft. I wanted the Bills to get him and Humphries.

I would hope that nobody would be ruled out at this time because of their personality. They need playmakers and they don't have the luxury of being picky.

You're not wrong, but I think it's pretty apparent there are some major structural problems with the Bills right now. I think most people are probably hyper aware of the coaching staff and their deficiencies, and are frustrated that there hasn't been any meaningful growth in those areas. The season's not over, but there needs to be a lot of looking inward at the gameplanning over this bye.
