Around the NFL, Week 6, October 13-14.

Do you mean Jones around? If so, yeah that's accurate and a bad decision but Daboll is doing a lot with the players he's got. -

Daboll deserves some credit for keeping the Giants semi competitive considering the void of talent that is Daniel Jones. -
Samuel and Shakir not practicing Wednesday

Yall got any more of them trade rumors? I'll take B tier guys at this point. -
Hire Saleh as defensive coordinator IMMEDIATELY
Bruffalo replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
It might make sense from the outside as a fan, it doesn't make sense as something that McDermott would do. He's not going to fundamentally change the only thing he's good at, which is coaching his system of defense. If Saleh ever came in to be a Bills defensive coordinator, it's because McD has been fired and someone else is the HC. -

He will have multiple coordinator offers, he'll sit out the rest of the season. He's not going to take a job being an assistant. It also makes no sense for the Bills at all. -
Yeah, I think those a valid criticisms, but some of it I'm chalking up to a lack in trust on what he's got out there and then the pass catchers just not executing. If things aren't cruising along, Allen pushes it, often times to the Bills' detriment. I think it's understandable, and it's not new, so it's on the coaches to mitigate that tendency. Daboll was great at this, Dorsey and Brady seemingly not so much. McDermott just seems like an absent father at this point when it comes to the offense, just not involved.

They mentioned yesterday on WGR that Allen was 7th in the league in "catchable deep passes" but 31st in completion percentage with throws past 20 yards this year. That kind of advanced stat unequivocally points to what most of us already know: The receivers, particularly the outside guys, are not up to snuff.

The dumb part is that I think this is probably bad for the Bills on Monday night. Teams usually get that "we fired the coach and now nobody knows what we're gonna do" bump for 1-2 weeks after a firing.
-
Is anyone really surprised? He didn't really do anything with a lot of talent and then with Rodgers there we knew who the real boss was. That team is so desperate for any kind of NFL relevancy that they're giving control to a psychedelic-addicted 40 year old who should have probably retired by now.

You can really tell the folks who only watch the Bills in this thread.

We will probably never know the extent of the Diggs issue. It could be McD who told them to take the trade. I'm not making excuses though, once Diggs was gone it was his responsibility to fill that role. He took a shot with Samuel but that has not panned out. I'm hesitant to blame Beane for that either, but we absolutely should have drafted (at least) two WRs.

It's what happens when the pressure gets completely stacked on him because nobody is doing anything well. The coaching staff keeps saying they don't want Allen to be superman, YAC... All the things everyone wants to hear, but when it comes to investment he gets castaway WR5s from bad franchises. This year could be excusable if they drafted 2 WRs and we were seeing rookie growing pains out there, Instead we're seeing Hollins ceiling, which is catching 1/6 passes.

Worst WR core of separators in the NFL and getting pressured 1/3 plays but: "AlLeN NeEdS tO hIT tHE OpeN MAn"

I'm skeptical they'll do anything. They're probably confident (and for good reason) that this team can win the division, and while it'd be nice to have more consistency in the WR room, it ultimately won't translate to enough wins for it to move the needle to the 1 seed or similar. They're set up really well for next season with a lot of picks and even more cap space. I'm not confident they'll use it bolstering the offense though, which sucks.

Pats' Peppers Facing Strangulation and Drug Charges
Bruffalo replied to RyanC883's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't know why it's so hard for some people to not hurt others. It's really sad. I've been in a few fights but I never started one. Side note: Jabrill Peppers sounds like something I'd order at a Caribbean restaurant. -
I mean there's like 7-8 drops in there, but yeah. It's not pretty.
-
We won't ever know, but I feel confident in saying that there's a lot of WRs in the league (like WR3 types) who will make that catch routinely with the exact same throw.

What O adjustments can the Bills make short of a trade?
Bruffalo replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Stop giving Hollins read 1 routes. He's Gabe Davis with worse hands. Throw more 50/50 balls to Coleman if you have to, at least he has upside. Curtis Samuel is apparently a race horse with a broken leg at this point. You know what to do there. Elevate a speedster from a PS. I don't even care who. -
Hollins didn't need to make a huge adjustment on that throw at all though. He just needed to continue running and not try and track the ball for 30 yards.
-
He's played with a rookie, a bunch of guys who should barely be in the CFL, and the ghost of Curtis Samuel. You can only elevate the dumpster players so much until they hit a ceiling.
-
There's like 50-75 WRs in the NFL who will make that catch. Hollins is a WR by name only. He's basically a blocking TE. You might as well throw that to Lee Smith. The people blaming Allen for poor decision making are taking the humanity out of the game. Would you trust these guys to do anything right? I wouldn't, so it's understandable why he's holding the ball for that extra 2/10s of a second, and that's all you need in the NFL to screw up the rhythm of an offense.
