  1. So the knock against Allen a couple of years ago was because he had only done it for one season, so he shouldn’t be in front of other QBs-why are the goal posts changing for Hurts? Allen was better in most statistics his 3rd year compared to Hurts. Do it for another season and then people can put him up there, but not yet. Is Burrow really blowing people out of the water with his 200 yards and 1 touchdown a game average in the playoffs???? I understand his team beat the Bills last year and he has gone to a Super Bowl, but has he ever played exceptionally well in the playoffs?
  2. So a line like this is why the player has almost no negotiating ability. I have seen that $16 million number thrown around a lot-where did it come from? Certainly didn’t come from the player. Makes a ton of sense for the team to leak a ridiculous number like that because look at what it did. Makes Barkley look greedy and unreasonable, and now public opinion is that Barkley’s demands were too high
  3. Except your argument doesn’t apply here. They weren’t allowed to negotiate with other teams to find out what they could get paid
  4. So the problem with this statement though is exactly what’s happening with the Giants. Danny dimes is not worth 40+ million and Barkley is worth more to the giants than what is being offered to him
  5. Because people root for teams, not players. A team can leak pretty much anything negative against a player, fact or fiction, and most fans will back the team. A guy asks for more money and people on here rage and say “you signed a contract, now honor that contract” but never say that when a team cuts a guy. Lots of guys say Thurman and Bruce are 2 of their favorite players of all time, but this place would’ve gone ballistic when they signed with other teams-especially Thurman going to the dolphins. That’s just how this works
  6. I get what you’re saying but you can say this about every top team-KC is nothing without Mahomes, we’ve seen the Bengals without Burrow, etc. it’s why the MVP award is essentially just a QB award now
  7. Not disputing or agreeing, just wondering how you came up with 7th
  8. Couple of things: there’s probably not much (if anything) that’s going to be shown that Josh doesn’t already know about these guys. Second, those guys aren’t the enemy to Josh, that’s not who he faces. Mahomes vs Allen is media and fan driven. His enemy is the other team’s defense
  9. There’s a whole lot of conjecture in this statement. There were a ton of questions about Addison going into the draft, stud is a pretty subjective word to use there. All of these receivers (Kincaid included) were taken within a handful of picks from each other-the of the “reports” really don’t have a ton of merit. For all anyone truly knows, Kincaid could’ve been there too guy-so could any of those receivers. Sounds like you still feel as though the Bills barely got a consolation prize out of this. It’s a mismatch league and if he can become the mismatch we all want him to be, that’s going to be a considerably higher value than anything Addison or any of those other receivers could have brought to the team
  10. No way, this dude needs to be locked in 24/7 (nay 25/8), in the playbook and out on the field at the same time, bringing receivers in, learning the defense and special teams as well-these distractions are only going to hurt the team…he’s not the guy am I doing this right?
  11. Not sure this is a true statement. You even say it yourself that the receivers were allowed Ro get mugged. They were bigger but a lot slower. Those linebackers wouldn’t be able to keep up with offenses today just like current linebackers would have to be able to handle more of a beating back in those days
  12. There’s literally nothing that is coherent about this entire statement
  13. Damn, if the Bills had only kept Hodgins, then they would have….still no #2 and just another 4/5 on the depth chart
  14. I see this point made a lot and to me it’s one of the stupidest arguments people make. So basically what people are saying is he needs to yell at people in public and embarrass them in order to be a “better leader.” Because only the greatest leaders made sure to yell at their teammates publicly and make a spectacle out of it. As if there haven’t been a billion threads crushing Diggs for doing this exact thing. Yelling or getting in your teammates face doesn’t make a person a good leader. Also, how do people know that Josh doesn’t handle these things privately? You can’t demand poise AND also demand he loses his cool and berates his teammates for making mistakes
  15. Dude what are you talking about?? How is your first thought about this a race thing?
  16. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha this is the type of comment I came I to the thread to read!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
  17. Didn't they just pay him a ton of money? His cap hit would be huge
  18. No but he paid him earlier than many on here wanted him to pay Josh. That is due to his contract skills
  19. This is what every GM does though, so it’s not as if Beane is doing something reckless that all GM’s aren’t doing. Not saying you in particular, but there’s a really odd obsession with what the cap will look like in 2-3 years around here.
  20. It’s quite amusing that some people on here think that the only way to be a good leader is to be “tougher” and “get in someone’s face” and yell at them publicly during a game. Getting angry and yelling at your teammates or slamming things on the sideline doesn’t make you a great leader or show you have more passion than anyone else. It shows you can’t handle your temper, that’s it. People need to stop equating 5 year old temper tantrums with being this amazing competitor
  21. There’s absolutely no chance the NFL would flex Bill Chiefs to a Thursday night. They aren’t having 2 of their top teams play on a short week-they want all week to hype that game up and give both teams a chance to have all of their starters ready to go
  22. Except the team that had the worst disadvantage isn’t a bottom feeder-they played in the NFC championship game! Also, how did this thread make it almost 2 pages without anyone mentioning the whole “Jets don’t play in NY” thing? According to this guy, the Jets play against the Bills several weeks in a row!!
  23. Just wondering, what would make or break look like for McDermott? AFC championship game? Must win the Super Bowl?
  24. Oh god so that means this place will be a cesspool 6 or 7 times next year and only slightly less miserable the other times
  25. Exactly-the article could’ve been written so much quicker by simply saying “i don’t really know so I’m going to choose 3 random positions and then LB because Edmunds is gone”
