  1. Please provide the specific quote where I stated or even implied that he is a good guy. I stated he might be, I don't know. Do you know? Having worked with young people for decades I can assure you there are some self-centered ***** and some really nice people both groups who end up making foolish and sometimes every costly (to them or others) mistakes. My reference was he helped a food bank (a good thing to do). This also does not prove he is a "good" guy, but you cannot take one incident and from that evaluate a person's full life. Admittedly, you are probably the incarnation of Mary Poppins herself so you can throw stones, but for the rest of us we are flawed. Oh except that you misread / mischaracterized what I said, so I guess you are not so perfect after all. BTW - Do I think he will and should be punished .. Yes 100%.
  2. It is not necessarily that they don’t care .. when you are young you just feel invincible… “I got this” mentality. This particular piece of ******* very well may be a great guy who made a collassal misjudgment that will impact the victims family and his forever. “In April 2020, Henry Ruggs partnered with Three Square, a southern Nevada food bank, to donate meals to those in need because of the COVID-19 pandemic. On May 7, 2020, Ruggs’ daughter was born.” Tragic for all parties involved, except the lawyers of course.
  3. well most years we would start predicting who would land in our laps at pick 12 in the NFL draft while hoping the team would show progress while losing to get us a better draft pick. Now we are stuck watching a team that is tops in most defensive categories and one of the better offensive teams in the league. Dang it Beane.
  4. Minor trade yet again with the Chefs He was a starter last year .. but the likelihood of the Chefs trading with us 0.0%
  5. The Washington Football Team and Bills are trying to work out a deal to send Mitchell Trubisky to Washington D.C. per Chris Trapasso https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-trade-deadline-2021-live-updates-rumors-and-latest-deals-as-teams-get-set-for-second-half-push/live/
  6. My favorite as well .. Peyton is just so funny in an understated way https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2021/11/1/22758694/watch-peyton-mannings-son-chose-j-allen-for-back-of-his-jersey favorite player .. kid has promise.
  7. At the 32 yard line a Linebacker grabs him around the waist Then slides to his ankles and then falls off at the 30 and skids on his back to the 28 by the end of the play. Josh and Christian Wilkins (6’4” 310 lb) collide at the 28 yard line and Josh drives him onto his back then bursts through the gap he created before being pushed OOB at the 23 yard line. You have to go second by second to see how impressive it is.
  8. Titans add Adrian Peterson to the practice Squad .. amazing add 6 years ago .. now .. not so much. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2021/11/titans-to-sign-adrian-peterson
  9. J.J. is owed $28 million on a 2 year contract of which $23 million is guaranteed https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/arizona-cardinals/jj-watt-7726/ There are only 4 Bills players averaging more than $14 million a year. Dion, Tre, Stefon, and Josh. The way of thinking about this is instead of landing the splashy but older J.J. we are paying Matt Milano, who most, including me, did not think we would be able to retain for $10.4 million per year or $3.6 million less than J.J. Well done Mr. Beane https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/contracts/ We should all remember this as the Von Miller and Chandler Jones sweepstakes open up in a few months. In the NFL younger and cheaper is better than name recognition. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/
  10. Right .. they knew he had Covid .. and they were like .. well we need him for the traditional player / coach dance .. so heck with it .. come on in coach. They clearly found out post wedding that he was positive. I am not certain where you live but in most places you don’t have to be tested to walk out your door and go to a restaurant / grocery store etc. The Bills seemingly have done an excellent job so far avoiding the Covid trap .. let’s hope that continues.
  11. I often take umbrage to help with my truculent .. I guess it is an age thing but those umbrage really do the trick
  12. Jason McCourty and Malcolm Brown to IR https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/10/25/jason-mccourty-malcolm-brown-will-be-placed-on-ir/ Anything can happen, but it normally doesn't .. Buffalo should steamroll them
  13. This is it exactly. One of the unknowns was Patrick Mahomes. We talk as if it was a guarantee he would have this outstanding start to his career. Yes some people on this board loved him, but those same people have LOVED other people who ended up being a bust. ESPN's Jeff Legwold was so high on Mahomes they had Tre White 19 spots higher than him (23rd to 52nd) in their 2017 top 100 draft prospects. They had Trubisky at 42 and Deshaun Watson at 28. I have liked 100s of players I anted the Bills to take .. some have been good, some have sucked. I always remember the ones I liked that turned out well. https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2017/story/_/id/19180310/ranking-top-100-prospects-available-2017-nfl-draft-espn-nfl-nation-reporter-jeff-legwold NFL.com Mike Mayock had him at 32 https://www.nfl.com/news/mike-mayock-s-2017-nfl-draft-top-100-prospect-rankings-0ap3000000802568 Daniel Jeremiah from NFL.com had 3 Qbs in the top 50 but none named Mahommes. he had Deshone Kizer as his top ranked QB https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-s-top-50-prospects-for-2017-nfl-draft-0ap3000000775479 Sporting News actually had him as their top QB at #12 with the following write-up "12. Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech Mahomes is the best quarterback in a class that lacks a true No. 1-worthy prospect. Right now he’s a more reckless version of Jay Cutler, but his upside is Brett Favre/Matt Stafford. That upside is worth a team making him the first quarterback selected." Gil Brandt had him high, but his third ranked QB. USAToday had him as their 4th QB The myth that everyone should have known that Mahomes would be a franchise level quarterback is not backed by the facts from the time. Alll that to say, I prefer Josh, because he somehow is Buffalo. I hope he can win a SB for the Bills like Mahomes has done for the Chiefs but as of today .. I would rather have Josh.
  14. "Bro, we lost two games [without Brady],” Bennett told the McCourtys, via NBCSportsBoston.com. “One of them was because Jimmy Garoppolo was being a B word. He decided not to play right before the game. Jacoby [Brissett] came out and played with a f–ked up thumb and played his heart out, but Jimmy was just being a B word about it all. “That’s why he . . . you can’t win with a B word for a quarterback, first of all." “So anyways, he’s not going out there, so now Jacoby straps up and we lost to the Buffalo Bills. We shouldn’t have lost. It was just last-minute, trying to make adjustments for what Jacoby could do.” https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/10/22/martellus-bennett-piles-on-jimmy-garoppolo/ So happy we have a QB that makes the competition his B
  15. My problem is there are typically only a few "can't miss" prospects per year, and McDermott keeps screwing up Beane's chance to get them by going to the playoffs. We should fire McDermott and get back to drafting all those stud players For where they were picked I think these guys have shown very well: - Gregory Rousseau; Spencer Brown; Gabe Davis, Tyler Bass; Dawson Knox (recency bias); Taron Johnson I also think these are solid players, and you need solid players, as no team can have a roster of superstars .. it is unrealistic and unmaintainable from a salary cap perspective - Tremaine Edmunds; Harrison Phillips; Siran Neal; Ed Oliver; Devin Singletary; Zack Moss; Dane Jackson; Carlos Basham Almost all of the players he has drafted are on an active roster and the ones that are not are on a Practice Squad. That is quite an achievement.
  16. If I was Whitney I would see if the Cardinals were interested. A little bit of Houston West with JJ and Hopkins, and great winter weather. If the Bills make a run .. Butler could be axed .. the fantasy that we will get someone to trade with us for him is just a fantasy. You can sign him to a couple year contract a d spread the signing bonus out.
  17. McD needs to let Cole out if his doghouse … ofh nevermind
  18. Saw this on a Tennessee fan forum ... Nice
  19. ESPN Marty Smith interviews Josh Allen. - Break-down the Hurdle - partII. - Does a Tiger Woods impersonation - how he loves what he does Just the first 3 1/2 minutes - the kid makes me smile .. just so genuine.
  20. If you look at nothing else today .. read this .. really, really well done. Thanks @johnk for posting
  21. The ESPN Process also used by other sports "media" like Fox (PFF likes to use it as well though not to the same degree). It was clarified by @Billy Claude (thanks) that Nick is a Fox guy, but to lay out the process .. I stuck with ESPN who perfected it. 1) Fill in the ESPN type "personality" (for our purposes Nick Wright states something emphatically with little basis 2) The network posts it on youtube with a title like "Nick Wright BLASTS Bills" 3) Fans click on it in outrage and become more outraged over the actual comments. They send the link to others to hear the outrageous claim. 4) The network receives ad money from Youtube based on the clicks. 5) The "personality" in this case Nick gets to stay on the air saying even more dumb things because he brings in revenue 6a) The "hot take" comes true. The "personality" basically crows about it which produces another video where the "personality" Nick Wright doubles down and acts like they are Nostradamus. 7a) The network posts it on youtube with a title like "Nick Wright Bills 2nd Tier Team" 8a) Fans click on it in outrage and become more outraged over the actual comments. They send the link to others to hear the outrageous claim. 9a) The network receives ad money from Youtube based on the clicks. 10a) The "personality" in this case Nick gets to stay on the air saying even more dumb things because he brings in revenue 6b) The "hot take" fails to come true. The "personality" emphatically states that they are "shocked" but does not alter their position but rather makes up reasons why their "hot take" as solid as it was failed to come true. The fans of the affronted team listen in to hear a mea culpa but instead hear the double down and excuses and become more enraged. 7b) The network posts it on youtube with a title like "Nick Wright SHOCKED Bills ..." 7c) Fans click on it in outrage and become more outraged over the actual comments. 7d) The network receives ad money from Youtube based on the clicks. 7e) The "personality" in this case Nick gets to stay on the air saying even more dumb things because he brings in revenue There is one that was just recently posted titled "Derrick Henry and the Titans will shock Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills". You have 2 choices .. i) look at it and be outraged and share it with others to express your outrage and in turn provide money to these "media" entities and Nick Wright to continue this foolishness ; or ii) Ignore Choose the second option please.
  22. https://forbarefeet.com/collections/knox-sox They have several styles to choose from and benefit P.U.N.T - Pediatric Cancer Collaborative. ==== Here is the POD SQuad interview .. not my favorite, but ..
  23. Not many guys can get it 55 yards down the field even in the vicinity of the receiver. It was a great play.
  24. Now THIS is a troll. Literally none of those players are superstars. Some never were; the others are old and no longer very good. At least @Billyboy made it clear that he is not a Bills fan "they surprised YOU" not "they surprised US". He does have some valid points though .. WE were fleeced by the Diggs trade and all Beane gave up to get the hack QB we are stuck with. He also correctly points out that we could have had JJ Watt for no picks but he did get 28 million over 2 years from the Cards .. or roughly $825,000 per game. He is averaging 2 tackles and zero sacks per game .. so basically $412,500 per tackle. The Cardinals also stole Jordan Phillips from us for $10 million per year .. or .69 tackles per game (11 combined tackles) and .125 sacks per game (I did not count this year as he has been on IR all year (not his fault). Dang it Beane .. be better @Billyboy - if you are going to troll at least be good at it .. you know kind of like Beane has been building this roster.
