  1. Seeing Shelvin listed as 6'3", 346 lb. Ted Washington: 6'6", 365 lb. Vince Wilfork: 6' 1 3/8", 340 lb. I know it's not a weight competition, but Shelvin's big enough. Someone else can tell me about his ability to anchor or lateral movement but if he were no worse than Star his first year...........
  2. Do Barmore and Oliver hypothetically play on the field at the same time or is Barmore also an NFL (not college) 3-tech?
  3. Every year I remind myself we'll never get all the pieces we need. I think with the 1-tech DT figured out, the Bills get a more effective Oliver and Edmunds so with one position fixed, you upgrade two others. Maybe Star is still the guy, but a big DT is a need to me. In much the same way, if the Bills can't get a new RB and TE, a solid OL player could boost the running game with the players we have. Odd for a such a talented team to have so many perceived needs.
  4. Hold or trade back. Only trade up for a QB IMO. Beane reaches and ends up with Cody Ford and Edmunds. Also, you have to decide whether you're going to cut down the number of rookies you bring in BEFORE they ever step on your practice field with your coaches and get evaluated in your system OR you bring in a full compliment of rookies to evaluate (again) on your field with your coaches in your system with your players etc. and do a proper Bills evaluation for a month or so before making cuts. To many holes to get cute trading up. Get these guys into camp and look at them then.
  5. Romo talks too much. Game is a snoozer thus far. Having trouble rooting either for or against either team. Beavis and Butthead were appreciated.
  6. Wasn't near as bad as the Super Bowl losses. Dallas losses were awful. Then you have to consider the Ronnie Harmon drooped pass loss against Cleveland.
  7. Like Albert Haynesworth without the head stomping. I'll say Oliver is at minimum good enough for certain packages if a big DT can keep him clean.
  8. XC skiing. Coffee. Sabres.
  9. Rroethlisberger is not a mentor. You keep Ben to start or make other plans.
  10. Jackson in a tough spot. That said, this is how you defend an interception:
  11. "Best game" may mean giving up 160 on the ground but limiting big passing plays, frustrating Lamar, and causing 2 turnovers. We've kind of been winning with that formula.
  12. Gabriel's Gate has let me down with soggy wings. How can you not render the fat and crisp the skin properly? Not downtown Buff, but I greatly prefer Bar Bill in East Aurora.
  13. The run-fueled 7-minute drives (as we saw from the Colts) are infuriating. I can only hope that there is real data showing the 2 LB set is the answer based on matchups because it's not obvious to my simple mind when I see it happen. I see Klein as a choice between limiting chunk plays from the run vs chunk plays by TE's.
  14. Ben is no longer productive enough to warrant his disruptive/selfish nature. Pitt would do as well or better with Fitz (for example) in addition to getting a team guy.
  15. Watching Antoine Winfield spoiled me. Not big at all and a great tackler.
  16. Klein has a physicality that I really like against the run and for rushing the passer. Maybe Klein never sees the field since Baltimore loves throwing to the TE's. Weigh that against getting gouged by the run.
  17. Sympathetic detonation perhaps.
  18. Not having that 1 tech DT is huge.
  19. Tie goes to the better pass protector.
  20. Play Klein for run support and pass rush or view him as a coverage liability? Would have liked him in the first half to de-establish the Colts run game.
  21. The inference being that if your starter is out and you have to play the backup QB, your season rests on the backup's ability. Going to your #2 LT, CB, RB etc would have less team impact. Think Allen to Barlkey vs Diggs to Brown. You can still have a good season with Brown.
  22. I chose LT for the survey, but there is the saying that the most important position is your starting QB and the 2nd most important is the backup QB.
  23. Agree. Needs legit competition. That's the best motivator.
