Travis is saying all the right things for the Miami fans...a place he might end up. I still think he deserves to be pissed and unless Miami is breaking the bank, I don't want to see him end up there.

Anyone catch Teri Polo in this months Playboy

[raises hand] Ah...me too please. -
I think we are on the same page as where Henry ranks in those backs. My point is a team would probably rather sign an Anthony Thomas without giving away a pick, than use a 2nd rounder to get Travis.
-
I agree, but there other backs that will be available that will make teams think twice about offering up a 2nd rounder when they can get these guys without giving anything up. A-Train Lamont Jordan Marcel Shipp Dominic Rhodes Also, there are decent RFA's that can be had for less than a 2nd rounder. Brian Westbrook (3rd) Najeh Davenport (5th?) Throw in some other teams that may move a RB - Browns, Broncos & Vikings, plus the three RB's expected to go in the 1st round (Williams, Benson, Brown). This is why I'll be suprised if TD gets a 2nd rounder for him. I like the fact that they're leeting TH talk now. Move him early, before the market starts to define value.
-
I agree...with the glut of available backs this offseason, a 2nd rounder would be a major coup for TD. I'm also amazed at the indifference toward Travis...the guy played his heart out for the Bills...got shafted when they drafted Willis. I think anyone in his position would deserve to be pissed.

What, a waterfront proposal that doesn't involve a casino? Because everyone knows that the way to revive a down economy is to introduce gambling. Think of all the tax dollars from tourists that shun Atlantic City and Vegas tocome to the Buffalo waterfront. [sarcasm off] You can put me in the skeptical column.

Back when I was a product engineer, we used to take tubing and rig a complex network of fart delivey systems. Up and over cube walls, around corners, you name it. Fart in one end, apply fan and walla, everyone gets a wiff. There was also a part used for sound baffling, that made your voice sound like Darth Vader. Our office paging privileges were revoked soon after that discovery.

The Lions went out and got Charles Rogers, Roy Williams and Kevin Jones for him. They also "tried" to shore up there O'Line the past offseason. Granted Rogers is always injured and Williams and Jones were gimpy for a good part of 2004, so you can't totally pin it on Joey. If you ask Lions fans, the big knock on him is that he hurries throws or throws stupid passes to avoid getting hit. And I haven't watched him too much, but I thought he was rated so highly coming out of U of O because of his on field leadership and ability to get things done. I think the answer is that Detroit is such a messed up organization, it will ruin anybody. They extended Millen!!! What the hell is going on up there.

I wanna put together a team that will help us relocate to Miami. What do ya mean? Some of these guys are furniture movers? Hell of a situation we got here. Two on, two out, your team down a run and you've got the chance to be the hero on national television... if you don't blow it. Saw your wife last night. Great little dancer. That guy she was with? I'm sure he's a close personal friend, but tell me, what was he doing with her panties on his head? [Rexman pops the ball straight up] Uh-oh, Rexie, I don't think this one's got the distance -
-- International giving by U.S. foundations totals $1.5 billion per year -- Charitable giving by U.S. businesses now comes to at least $2.8 billion annually -- American NGOs gave over $6.6 billion in grants, goods and volunteers. -- Religious overseas ministries contribute $3.4 billion, including health care, literacy training, relief and development. -- $1.3 billion by U.S. colleges are given in scholarships to foreign students -- Personal remittances from the U.S. to developing countries came to $18 billion in 2000 I was listing non-governmental aide. Possible some of these private donations are targeted towards military aide, but I would be suprised if it is any significant percentage. My point was that while our gov't may be criticized for it's aide amounts, the American people are some of the most generous in the world.

Following up on my previous post... (I cut and pasted this from an email discussion I had with a friend of mine) Humanitarian aid in general? Yeah... http://www.aafrc.org/press_releases/trustr...ricansgive.html That's just private donations... we're the number one giver of aid in real dollars in terms of governmental aid as well... but if you look at it as a % of GDP, our governmental donations are not that great, something like .13% of GDP (Norway is the best, at .92% of GDP). You can find info on our governmental aid here: http://usinfo.state.gov/usa/infousa/trade/tradeovr.htm#aid In terms foreign aid... Americans privately give at least $34 billion overseas -- more than three times U.S. official foreign aid of $10 billion: from: http://www.globalissues.org/TradeRelated/Debt/USAid.asp Some highlights.... -- $1.3 billion by U.S. colleges are given in scholarships to foreign students -- Personal remittances from the U.S. to developing countries came to $18 billion in 2000

Pete, The U.S. does lead the world in dollars donated for humanitarian aide. The numbers you are quoting are dollars directly allocated by the government. What it doesn't take into account is money donated by private parties (i.e. your contribution to the Red Cross). We as Americans are generally suspicious of our government (especially wealthy Americans) compared to other countries, so a large percentage of donations by the U.S. goes unreported in the figures you quote. I don't have time right now (at work) to find links for you, but will provide later.

Dungy was on Sirius this morning saying he'll gameplan according to the day of their first playoff game. If they play on Saturday (shortened week) their starters will get some reps, but then he'll rest them. However, if they draw the Sunday game, the Colts will play Denver like any other game. Remember, if the Broncos beat the Colts, there's a good chance that they'll play each other the following week. Do the Colts really want to set a precedent?

Would anyone care if the NHL folded

I got an idea...we'll change the Western Conference to the Campbell Conference and the Eastern Conference will become the Wales Conference. We'll then name the divisions after people who played a big part in the history of hockey. Maybe something like Adams, Patrick, Norris & Smythe. Oh and here's an idea....if a city doesn't at least average...oh lets say a minimum of 10 inches of snow a year, NO TEAM FOR YOU! I'm still waiting for some diehard Habs or Leaf fan to step up and take Bettman out. I'm first in line to contribute to the defense fund. -

Good bless color printers. If anyone needs me, I'm heading out for lunch and to get a rub and a tug.

I agree, there should be some standards. Like jousting. Put it on pay per view. On tonights card....Sir Elton John of Lichtenstein vs. Sir William Gates of errr...Seattle. Madden: Well, I'm going to go out on a limb and predict whoever knocks the other guy off first will take home the win. Michaels: Sir Elton has entered the ring and is sporting his home armor of pink with blue rhinestones....and Gates has taken the field...and what's this, someone has thrown an octopus out onto the ice. (I have too much time on my hands today)

I recommend the Disney version (Sword in the Stone).... Seriously, I used to really enjoy the legend of King Aurthur and th Knights of the Round Table, till they cast Richard Gere as Lancelot. Now it seems tainted.
