  1. An English Gentleman and an American Cowboy are standing side by side at the urinals in an exclusive 5 star restaurant. The Englishman finishes first and goes to the sink to wash his hands. To his horror, the American walks out the door without so much as wetting his hands. Outrage overcomes the Englishman and he hurries to catch up with the American to give him a piece of his mind. Englishman: "Excuse me sir, but we Englishmen always practice proper hygiene and wouldn't dream of leaving the loo without washing our hands!" The American thinks for a second and answers: "Well.... we Americans don't piss on our hands."
  2. "The Houdini" or a distant variation..."The Immobilizer" My buddy told me to look up this one..."Arabian Goggles"...funny as hell.
  3. Or it's cousin...The Tony Danza
  4. Mid-Air Refueling....I leave it to the imagination
  5. Agree completely...although I heard Shelton is done for the year. If Davis is healthy, it's his job to lose. Foster is going way too high in drafts. He has the potential, but his injuries make him a late-mid round flyer to me. We could very well see Nick Goings again.
  6. Your first 4 picks are solid, but depth is a question. Also, how many RB's WR's do you start? QB - Set RB - 1. L. Tomlinson SD - Solid 2. R. Brown MIA - Ricky has looked solid and he's the type of back that needs 25-30 carries to be his most effective. Hold onto Brown, but at best I would expect him to split carries. 3. TJ Duckett ATL - Excellent TD vulture, plus he'd put up great numbers if Dunn goes down. 4. T. Henry TEN - Watch his turf toe...although Brown is his own M*A*S*H unit, so I would expect Travis to be the starter at some point. 5. F. Gore SF - Potential....but Barlow is hanging on by a thread and Gore couldn't win the job in preseason. He'll see 8 in the box consistently. Hopefully, one of those guys will emerge as a #2 back. If not, either start Brown until Wicky comes off his suspension or play matchups with Duckett. By week 5 you should have a decent idea who your #2 will be. WR's - 1. Chad Johnson CIN - 2. L. Evans BUF - Hinges on JP 3. M. Muhammad CHI - Hinges on Orton...teams will blitz the hell out the Bears and stack the box...you drafted him late so he's good value at that point. Last year was the exception for Mushy, don't bank on him too much. 4. M. Robinson MIN - He's fighting Travis Taylor and now Koren Robinson for the job. Both are Round 1 busts, so there's an outside shot he has value. 5. M. Jones JAX - Who knows...great upside though. Same problem as RB's. Great #1, but who'll be your #2.
  7. Very good starters and great depth. I would expect you could start any 4 of your RB's, and having 4 good starting backs gives you trade bait if injuries hurt you elsewhere. Moss allows you to play with your 2nd WR position. I like the other guys you have (although I think Robinson is going to be lost in the shuffle) but watch how Tenny's and GB's offense starts out of the gate. Bennett doesn't have Mason on the other side anymore, and Driver is still the #2 behind Walker (he still should be good for 1000yds 7-8TD's). If they falter, move a back for a top WR and have the guy throw a RB prospect in. You can do better than a one for one swap. IMHO, Anderson would be the prime candidate. Never trust Shanny.
  8. Is this a six or eight team league? Not to bust on you man...it's a great team, but you're either in a small league or laughed all the way through the draft.
  9. Did you guys even hear the interview...or just read it. Impression I got is that she was referring to the people who are now housed in stadiums or shelters as being better off compared to being in the Super Dome or convention center. Did she choose her words carefully...No, but I think we can cut the woman some slack.
  10. I'm flying up from Atlanta Friday. Tailgating w/family and college buddies, but would like to try and stop by the TBD gig.
  11. That avatar rocks.... Retatta...it never gets old!
  12. Seems with Garcia out and McMahon gone, the Lions have no choice but to put their faith in Joey. Don't give away too much for Shockey. While he has the talent to be a upper tier TE and a nice addition to your team, McMichael is servicable when he isn't busy in court. There's always a few TE's that suprise every year...like I said, watch the WW. - Good Luck
  13. I do know Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, CW McCall & John Denver sang it also. Admittedly, I had to look up the writer so I won't throw my hat into the ring.
  14. It means my land will only flood once every 100 years...right? The way I understand it you have an approximate 1% chance of your land flooding every year...and depending on how far back an area's records go, determining a 100 year, 150 year, 200 year, etc. flood plain is just a shot in the dark. Remember..our country isn't that old old, so designations for flood plains are not statistically significant. As a result, a home that is considered to be in a 100 year plain can easily find itself designated a 25 year flood plain (or some other level) after a few good storms. Conclusion: Basing development on flood plain designations = bad idea. How'd I do?
  15. Do they really need a sliding roof in Arizona?
  16. Found the story...I guess Ford was working as a carpenter on the set. Lucas came across him and remembered him from a bit part in American Graffiti. Lucas asked Ford to read opposite the actors he was auditioning (I've heard along with Pacino turning it down...Christopher Walken, Kurt Russell & Billy Dee Williams)...and the rest is history.
  17. Possible, just parroting what I had heard. I also heard that there were big name stars that read for Jaws (Redford comes to mind) but Speilberg wanted the shark to keep center stage.
  18. I had heard Tom Selleck turned down Raiders of the Lost Ark beacause of his contactual obligations to Magnum PI. Also, several actors (Pacino, McQueen) turned down Richard Dreyfuss' role in Close Encounters. Pacino also turned down the role of Han Solo. There's a rumor Ford was working on the movie and was picked by Lucas from the crowd.
  19. How many teams in your league, because you look pretty stacked. Your starters are solid. Mason is a question mark because of Boller. Parker should be a decent gap fill in. Jury is still out whether he can take the pounding as a starter. Keep an eye on Travis Taylor...he may be overtaking M. Robinson, plus you already have Burleson. As I mentioned in another thread, I don't care for starting/having WR's from the same team. Also watch Lee Suggs. He probably won't be ready for the opener and Green has been tearing it up during the preseason. My feeling on TE's is that once your past the top 3 (Gonzo, Gates, Witten) the rest are a crapshoot. I've heard Troupe is doing well, but at the same time with the WR's Detroit has, Pollard will see some favorable matchups. On the same note, with KJ and the WR's they have, will Pollard see the ball that often? Like I said...a crapshoot.
  20. You should be fine with Hass as your starting QB. Hang on to Harrington in case he starts tearing it up, but don't be afraid to cut him loose....Mooch won't. You have decent depth at WR, but beyond your first two, everyone else has at least one question surrounding them. WR : Randy Moss - Best in league WR: Marvin Harrison - ball being spread around more, but still consistent WR: Jerry Porter - Slightly injured, You already have Moss...I personally don't like starting 2 WR's from the same team. WR: Eric Moulds - JP will struggle (at least early on). Losing ground to Evans. WR: Mushin Muhammed - Rookie QB, although he's in better shape now that Hutch is gone. WR: Tyrone Calico - Good upside. I think the Titans will be throwing a lot. I would bet one or two of your bottom 4 recievers will pan out, and you should be set. RB...after McAllister, you have issues. Plenty of potential, but also plenty of risk. RB: Deuce McCallister - Solid #1 RB RB: DeShaun Foster - Can he stay healthy? He's shown monster numbers when he has played, but Davis is back and Shelton is in the wings. RB: Najeh Davenport - If Green goes down or falters, the Phantom Pooper will be big time. RB: Ricky Williams - Has looked good so far. But Ronnie Brown and his suspension loom. RB: Travis Henry - Turf Toe. Good news is that Chris Brown is made of sticks. You'll have a decent team...keep a close eye on the waiver wire and look into getting Duece's backup as a safety handcuff.
  21. We used to have a plant in one of the worst sections of New Orleans. Had to hire armed guards to escort people to and from their cars...and no one was allowed outside for a smoke because people would take potshots at them. Everyone laments the fact that the "cultural" New Orleans is gone, when in fact the majority of the city was seriously crime ridden and filthy a long time ago.
  22. "Don't throw it to Stone Hands!!!" Great Movie
  23. Hollywood has everyone believing that a pallet of goods floats gently down to earth with hardly a thud. When in fact as far as the dropped goods are concerned ,being airdropped is an extremely violent event. Your choices would be either to drop in sparsely populated locations: 1.) Could people get to the goods? 2.) Would armed people take control of the goods before the masses could get to them? ...or drop into a crowded area and risk deaths which the media would crucify the gov't for.
  24. Haven't seen any stations closed down in the PTC-Sharpsburg-Newnan area although the population isn't as dense as the northern Atlanta burbs....yet. Prices have seemed to stabilize. Can still get gas for $2.99...highest I've seen is $3.19.
  25. Filled up late last night at $2.99 (SW Atlanta Burbs). More than one pickup filling up a bed full of gas canisters. Haven't seen today's price. Luckily, I work from home on Thursdays. My commute is 45 miles each way...which is not unusual in Atlanta. And I'm one of the lucky ones as I have an Accord. Public transportation is a joke here. For me to get to work, I'd have to drive 22 miles, take a train and then 3 bus connections. Total time is about three hours This is gonna suck
