  1. I read someone describe Simms as "Ryan Leaf without the attitude." I'd go Warner or Holcomb. Zona has no running game so they have to chuck the rock even against an underated Lions D. The Chiefs pass D is horrid, although they are getting healthier. I'd say Holcomb (gulp) is the safe bet for 200yds and a TD or 2. If you need to chance your QB to throw up large points go with Warner. I didn't see Harrington's name mentioned, but..... Looks like he'll start as Garcia's still banged up. He's good for a game or two a year that reminds us he was the 3rd overall pick and he's way overdue. Very high risk/reward.
  2. Looks more and more like T.Jones will be on the pine this week. Most likely a gametime decision. Pittman and Lewis will be splitting time. Taylor is out so I'd agree with you and go with Jones against a banged up Ravens D. Ray-Ray and Ed Reed are out and Terrell Suggs has missed some/all practices this week. I'd guess similar yards to last week (around 80) and hope for a TD. Jones did well last week, but cross your fingers and hope Del Rio doesn't split him with Pearman.
  3. Yowzas!!! Definitely three-quarters husky.
  4. Judas Priest. Put Halford on the stand!!!!
  5. You can't understand RIT unless you went there. Even the nasty chicks had attitudes. I guess that's what happens when there's 7 guys lined up to kiss their @ss. RSA Coordinator: "Kevin, how can we stop your destructive cycle of drinking and fighting." Me: "Kick me out of this school....please." I'm in grad school part time at UGA now. I cry myself to sleep at night.
  6. Even Gilbride?
  7. ...as opposed to every other week
  8. Macguire started to say that you don't call a weak OPI call that late in a close game, but quickly hushed up and started to sing a different tune.
  9. I believe he comes back this week...which may bode well for him depending on the severity of Brown's injury. Although Payton did allright filling in. Edit: I must have saw Payton have 1 or 2 good runs. I checked his stats and pffft!!
  10. They got the GA Dome right. Worst stadium...ever.
  11. I think he's giving people too much credit... Sorry, just spent most my day in an airport.
  12. Betcha Buckner could have hung onto those.
  13. You lambast Penn St. & Notre Dame as playing weak schedules and then tout VA Tech? I realize the toughest part of their schedule is still to come, but their hardest games so far were NC State and W. Va.
  14. I think a playoff system is a must, although I think 24 teams may be too many. The reason the NCAA keeps citing not going to a playoff system is time away from school for the athletes. Talk about blowing smoke. I'm sure that's their number one interest and it has nothing to do with their lucrative bowl packages. I'd propose the top 8 make the playoffs. Wrap the whole thing up in three weeks. If you wanted to extend it to 12 (ala NFL) you could go to four weeks. You'll see the griping come full force if Texas and UGA run the table this year. The SEC thinks they are by far the premier football conference and are still bent over Auburn not making the championship game last year.
  15. Ancient Chinese Secret?
  16. The other one you could argue is Julian Peterson. I guess last year's injury would put him in the "moderate success" column, but he's a monster when he's on the field. Other than that...spot on!
  17. Glenn's having a good year, but that offense revolves around Julius Jones. Their running game struggled the past week and with a high ankle sparain, Jones may not be back for a few weeks. Now with Adams being out, we'll see if Drew can carry the Boys.
  18. I know Tai-Bo.
  19. Looking at some of the names taken higher than Flowers, I don't feel so bad anymore...although passing on Keith Bullock for Erik is a kick in the pants.
  20. Fra-jeel-eh. Must be Italian.
  21. That someone was Topper Harley. "Playing to lose is like sleeping with your sister. Sure she's a great piece of tail with a blouse full of goodies, but it's just illegal. Then you get into that whole inbred thing. Kids with no teeth who do nothing but play the banjo... eat apple sauce through a straw... pork farm animals. "
  22. Exactly...and Antonio Gates wouldn't have anything to do with Brees' "luck," would he?
  23. “It was a stag party atmosphere on the boat with allegations of strippers and sexual conduct,’’ Who gives a rat's @ss? "..another woman called to complain that six or seven men pulled up in a shuttle bus limo and urinated in her yard, police reports said. She followed the limo to Al and Alma’s, but she couldn’t identify the men, said Chief Jim Kurtz." I'm still trying to figure this one out. Six or Seven large men take a leak in the front yard and she decides to follow them? Seriously, this story is drivel at best. Someone's girlfriend's sisters step aunt call the cops up to report "possible" drug use, prostitution & sexual misconduct (donkey anyone?). Was said hostess harrassed? Sounds like some disgruntled Vikes fans trying to get Tice finally canned. I think Charlie Sheen said it best...and he's an authority on hookers. "I wasn't paying them for sex, I was paying them to go away afterwards."
  24. C'mon, Gus Frerotte is a QB issue . Only a matter of time befor this thread is banished to TSW.
