  1. Don't know about that Pete. I would probably be considered a "beer snob," but the U.S. definitely has some offerings you could put up against the premier offerings of other countries, especially in the hoppy categories. Plus, when I get done with the yardwork in mid-July/August down here in 100 degree/95% humidity conditions, I'm not reaching for Chimay. Rocky Mountain refeshment it is!
  2. Great effort by Drury to flip the puck back through the crease with the Montreal D-men bearing down on him. Probably just trying to get it on net, but can't fault the end result.
  3. Yeah, it must make people's day to hear him say that. I listen in if I can't find anything on Sirius or sports talk. If i work late I can listen to Savage on the way home... ...at least there's a numbing entertainement value to him.
  4. I tried to give it Air America programming a listen on Sirius Left, but it's awful. Rhodes is the best of the bunch, but most of the programs border on childish whining. Almost as funny as Hannity telling every lickbag that calls him up that they "are a great American." About the only host I can stomach is Boortz and he even has his off days.
  5. Was at the game... Boring and sloppy in the 1st (both teams), but the Sabres, as usual, picked it up in the 2nd and beyond. As for the crowd...Sabres gear was all over the place. Thrashers fans were getting pissed at the loud chorus of "Lets Go Buffalo," every time they tried to start a "Let's Go Thrashers" chant. To quote the woman in front of me, "What are you all doing here, go back to Buffalo." Was even what I would call a Sabres pep rally (for lack of a better term) in the concourse between periods. Special recognition to the group up in 315 or 316, the Sabres would be lucky to have them at home games.
  6. I travel all the time for work. The shoe policy is different at every single airport and is there is no consistency at a single airport. Sometimes seems like they flip a coin in the morning. I try not blame the front line workers as a realize that the management I've also had the "recommendation" to remove shoes and didn't. However I was pulled aside for additional screening for not following said recommendation, despite not setting off the metal detectors. The reason TSA is being so friendly is that there has been a deluge of complaints from passangers and crews over abuse of power. However, I have found for the most part that they are nicer, friendlier and more competent (i.e. not sleeping or talking to co-workers) than when security was farmed out to private firms. However is anyone thinks this makes a difference security wise, you're deluding yourself. It's to lull the "mom & pop" travellers who fly once a year into thinking the gov't is on top of things.
  7. All airports will want the laptop put in a bin by itself for x-ray screening. Most airports will want the same for the camcorder. TSA may run the explosives check on your stuff if they're not familiar with the devices being screened, but that only takes a few minutes.
  8. Wow...I wondered why this thread was in PPP. Thirteen pages later, and I'm speechless. Dawg...put down the shovel. The hole is deep enough already.
  9. ... the Vikes (at least on paper) should have had one of the best D's in the league. The LB corps is average, but the DL and secondary are stacked. DT - Kevin Williams, Pat Williams DE - Scott, James, Johnstone LB - Cowart, EJ Henderson, Newman (avg) DB's - Winfield, Smoot, Sharper, Chavous Not assigning blame to Cotrell. The D did improve as the season went on and id spend a lot of time on the field because the O was in shambles. However, they should have been much better than the end result.
  10. Miller has been SHARP! D has had some lapses, but has been decent.
  11. Yeah. I have to admit I was skeptical on the Numminen signing, but he's been solid.
  12. Illegal stick...ugh. I hate that F'n rule.
  13. OK...I take it all back.
  14. Too many lapses tonight. Even on even strenght the Sabres are letting them hold the momentum too long. I was just thinking how well Max is seeing the ice and he leads Paille by 10ft too much on a pass. Oh well.
  15. That's two on Pronger. Connolly faked him out of his jock and he way overcommitted on Max.
  16. Way to go Max!
  17. It's not the Chinese water torture invoked by listening to the Florida/Tampa/Carolina crew, but I expected much better from Edmonton. Sabres better punch another in. The Oilers are filing like ants into the box and we can't capitalize.
  18. Looks like he caught hemsky in the jewels. I expected the color guy for the Oilers to be better. He's killin' me.
  19. "Hartman tagged him right in the beak!" "There's no cement in that goalie's trapper!" (for a while I thought he said crapper )
  20. First off, The Thrashers and the vaunted Gwinett Gladiators have a horn. Second, my favorite Robyism: "He stood him up like a cigar store Indian!"
  21. Bobby April. Why not?
  22. I thought it was pickle juice. Did I miss a revision?
  23. According to radio down here, Pope has declared.
  24. It's pretty good. Friend bought some just to try it. Hear's a little blurb from his write-up.... The scent of the Kopi Luwak coffee is rich and spicy, and definitely not unpleasant (we're assuming that the beans are well-cleaned from their, um, harvested state). With that, we took our first tastes. The first sip of the brew was definitely a shocker. It leapt into your mouth the feline ferocity, and was a combination of... wow, it was hard to tell. Subsequent sips, once your palate was accustomed to the particular taste, were quite pleasant. It was definitely spicy, maybe a little bit musky too -- but with the sweetest aftertaste. There was no bitterness that you often find in the more robust brews, it was almost like there was a coating of sugar on your mouth after the sip washed down (and we were drinking coffee the way it's meant to be, folks: straight up black).
  25. I think so to, but the staff has to get him the ball in that capacity (28 receptions over 16 games) From what I can find he was thrown to 42 times.
