Way back in art class I was told white was the presence of all colors. Does that count?

Yeah, the lack of foresight by the GEU is why we use foreign eagles today.

Friend recently converted his F-250 to run off of vegetable oil (The Veg-O-Matic 250). Bought a conversion kit (I think he said it was 4K) and has deals worked out with local retaraunts to take their used oil off their hands. He has to put it through a centrifuge first to clean it out and of course has a big spare tank in the bed of his truck, but the thing runs as good as it did on gasoline. You also get the added benefit that it smells like General Tso's chicken.

What's a couple trillion among friends
Kevbeau replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
C'mon, people were complaining about Bush the same way before he even took office. Not saying they weren't right and a lot had to do with the election debacle that year, but it did occur. -

As were the Dems towards Bush for the last eight years. Same story, different actors. -

So which is it...people's own business or blinded by hate? -
Great advice from EII. You've already ponied up for the trip. Don't try to teach her to ski, it will only lead to frustration. Pony up for at least a day of lessons. As for Vail itself. I have a love/hate relationship. Love. Some of the best open bowl & inbounds "expert terrain (Blue Sky Basin) in the country. I'm not a huge fan of groomers, but riding a groomed bowl is unreal. Despite the pretentiousness and astronomical prices, you can still find little out of the way bars restaraunts that have character. Katlenberg Kastle. Used to be in Lionshead. They've redid the whole place since my last visit, but they had phenomonal liter beer specials. Hate Can get ridiculously crowded by some of the snootiest/rudest people on the planet. Higher concentration of Euros than other resorts...not enough Aussies. For good skiers/riders I think BC down the road offers a better on mountain experience. Just as snooty, but 20% of the people (No lift lines) Again...haven't been there in a couple years (and maybe I'm getting too Disney) but the design of the whole place seems sloppy. Kind of like the South. A build whatever and wherever you want kind of feel. Best I can explain it. All in all, probably not a bad place to take her for hte first time. They do a great job maintain their trails (which she'll appreciate) and there's enough off mountain activities/entertainment to satisfy anyone.

1.) Scott TP. Definitely the way to go. 2.) Leave this to the professionals. Once she's back on her feet & has this d-bag completely out of her life, then you can consider possibly moving on with her. I had a cousin that was always trying to be the nice guy. Never ended well for him.

Favorite "Gin Mill" in WNY that you....
Kevbeau replied to EndZoneCrew's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Anyone remember that bar at the junction where Mineral Springs & Indian Church merged in West Seneca. Seemed like somebody put a car through the front of it at least twice a year. It was just down the road from the Hidden Hollow. -

Co-worker has two. Some of the nicest dogs I've ever met and are great with his kids. He definitely needs to "introduce" you to them so they know wou aren't a threat to his family. However, as great as they are with people and each other, they do not care for other dogs. I would say this is true of most the pit bulls I have known. No matter how good they are with people, they tend to be agressive towards other animals they were not raised with. Personally, I think you have to look at the type of people who own pitbulls. Yes, there are responsible ones, but every thug wannabe, trailer park chucklehead thinks they need one to show how "core" they are. These people can't manage their own lives let alone train a dog that needs a lot of attention. So a lot of the blame falls on the ownership group.

Agree, I find it one of the easiest airports to navigate and until recently I was logging 100K+BIS miles a year. As other posters have said, you can make it gate to gate, but there's a fair chance you'll be dleayed coming in, or have a delay on the tarmac. If the ticket is much cheaper with the 30 minute connection...and it's on the same airline, I'd buy it. Delta/Airtran are fairly good at accomodating passangers with missed connections. Just assume you'll end up on a later flight.

I used it as a blanket term. Call it cronyism or whatever. It's all still about who you know. -

In my experience, Ivy Leaguers tend to rise to the top because they are inherently more ambitious and well connected. I wouldn't say they are exceptionally smarter then the rest of us. Also, i find it amusing that people criticize McCain for nepotism on one hand and then trumpet Harvard (a bastion of nepotism) in the same breath. -
Best local beers are Sweetwater (Atlanta) & Terrapin (Athens). Both their flagships are excellent IMO... Sweetwater's 420 and Terrpain's Rye Ale. I would give Sweetwater the nod on secondary brands, but Terrapin really shines with their seasonals. http://www.sweetwaterbrew.com/ http://www.terrapinbeer.com/ Atlanta brewing is another one that I would say is pretty good. I used to love their Red Brick Ale, but I've moved away from browns/ambers and am now a fully committed hop head. So not so much a slight against them, just I prefer the other two breweries' offerings. http://www.atlantabrewing.com/

Can you still find Celis in TX? Was a big fan of their beers, then I think they got bought out by Miller and then somehow went independent again?

Two things come to mind. This Mr. Bolton guy is quite the expert. and.... What kind of boat are they using for surveying that wieghs over 10K lbs (even with a trailer)? A destroyer? I have a similar brake controller set up in my F-250 and horse trailer. I can tell immediately when stopping any time an adjustment is made to the boost settings on the controller. If the controller had malfunctioned at all before, the guy would have noticed it even if he was just slowing down.
