Saw this on vice tonight. Why address the real issue (mental health and drug abuse) when clearly putting everyone in a house is the real answer. As as a side note I love the hipster attitude of “Amazon is driving up housing costs!” Amazon hasn’t even made a selection on HQ2 and people in Atlanta are already freaking out. The beauty of it all is that these are the same douchebags that had no problem displacing poorer folks who occupied their trendy neighborhoods prior to them, but as soon as a bigger fish shows up in the pond the wailing begins.

It seems overbearing but you’d be amazed at the stuff you can ban bring back unknowingly. I have horses and occasionally go riding in other countries. I buy boots and pants that I throw out there when I’m done. It’s probably being over cautious but you’d be amazed the resilience of what sits in/on soil.

This. I’m going through the process of sponsoring an employee or an H1B. Holy $&@?! Also learning how this particular visa is abused by Indian consulting firms is somewhat eye opening as well. I digress...having dealt with the immigration folks in our govt, these people are either the most overworked people in the country or possibly the most inefficient. My past experience with governmental services has me leaning one way. Quick edit: I think we should accommodate people from all walks of life who want to work hard and build a better life, but I don’t understand why someone would come here and not make an attempt to somewhat assimilate. It doesn’t mean giving up your culture, but they left for a reason.

Have you gone camping lately. Or tried to cut down a few trees on your property...or build an addition without paying the environmental impact blackmail(your mileage may vary depending on where you live)

Actually that is the point. Regulators have yet to show any sort of restraint when it comes to any sort of legislation when it comes to personal freedoms (see: California.) as a result the gun lobby has decided to not give on anything, wary that an inch provides a crack in the armor for future momentum on restrictions. This creates an environment devoid of logic or rational solutions.

If this was truly about saving lives, they’d be marching for mandatory defensive driving courses. Also the quality of signage flies in the face of an “organic” march.
