Bringing this back up from yesterday. Over the last five years or so Georgia has seen the the development of a fairly large film industry and with it an influx of folks moving here to work in the field. It has shifted the political table a bit, more so in Atlanta and the surrounding area. If the people I know who are part of this industry and what I hear third person are to be believed. They overwhelmingly moved here for opportunity and to enjoy a favorable cost of living. My question is why for **** sakes would you want to implement the same $hi**y policies that made you leave where you came from? My other favorite concern is that if GA is too conservative, the entertainment industry won’t want to film here anymore. You mean the same hypocrites that film outside of CA and in any state that’ll Shower them with tax breaks? -
protests ready to go for tomorrow here in Atlanta. Where do these people find the free time?

He’s pacing in the Oval Office. His phone sits on his desk with a contingent of Secret Service assigned to tackle him if he makes a break for it. -

Took me 2.5 hrs in GA. Hearing similar times from others. We usually have a dozen machines at our polling place. Only four today and they closed the next nearest polling facility and roles it into ours. Go figure. Contentious governors race here. No national implications for my district but still big turnout. -
This is becoming the norm in corporate America. The phone carriers do this once year as an annual “cut the tail excercise.” Think Jack Welch’s old bell curve system. So far a lot of companies, including my own have been generous with severance. We’ll see how long that lasts. Technological efficiencies have evolved fast in the corporate space as well. As an example, consider the cheap computing power now available. Think what one person can do from a simple accounting standpoint versus a decade ago. Extrapolate that to HR, purchasing, etc and there’s no need to keep people around who are at the bottom of the curve. For the most part, if you’re good at your job and you have a marketable skill set, there’s nothing to worry about. If anyone with a laptop and a decent work ethic can do your job....may want enroll in some online courses.

It’s BS. I can see one of the ticket locations from my office. Backed up traffic pretty bad. If President Obama needs help filling a 6K auditorium, at a HBC....in Atlanta. The Democrats should just quit. Are we sure these aren’t just pics/video of sound checks and dry runs? Not a fan of the Democratic Party, but it can’t be that bad? -

This guy rolls through Atlanta on a semi regular basis. He puts on a fantastic show and has albums you can enjoy start to finish. I loop his music in my office and people always ask who it is.

I appreciate all the work DR does and it’s informed me quite a bit, but I’m a grain of salt kind of guy. Maybe this dude truly is the most epic f’n idiot to ever walk the planet and maybe I’m giving human intelligence a crazy level of benefit of doubt. But...if you’re going to send high level officials, celebs and businessman bombs (fake even..wtf is in it for you)...maybe parading around in the asstard van knowing that you’ve already submitted DNA as a requirement of your parole isn’t the best way to lay low. We’re all constantly amazed at the achievements of human stupidity(hence the Darwin awards) but holy $&@!. Not ready to don a tinfoil hat, but is there a golf visor version available in the pro shop?

Starship or Petty? Stuck on an island and one is your eternal background music.

JC....it’s like they pulled this guy (and his van) right out of central casting from a Stephen J Cannell series.

So no one around the conference table raises their hand and says “Charles, three days ago you said...”

To be fair, they could have been sitting around some mailroom and once the alarm went out people started looking (shrugs)

Considering just the number of protest/fight/assault vids linked on this board, how could one not see this escalating. Eventually people swing back. I think that poor girls death in Virginia slowed down the burn for a bit but as that falls farther back in people’s memories we’re going to see the conflict ratchet up. -
