The SALT ceiling could hit middle class in high cost of living areas. The other issue is if you live in a state that pegs state income tax to your AGI. In some instances it may be best to itemize even if you come in under the federal standard deduction when viewing income taxes as a whole. In the end however (as mentioned above) people really need to focus on their effective tax rate, not what they get back. I have to write the feds a check this year but my effective rate is down almost 2%.

I’m torn between what’s the more ridiculous statement: *eliminate fossil fuels but no new nuclear plants in 10 years (not that we could get a reactor site approved and built in a decade) *the unwilling to work blurb *replacing all buildings in the U.S. *replacing planes with trains She is single handidly devaluing Economic degrees for everyone else.

Are we automatically assuming that after 180 years the descendents of those people need such benevolence?

Atlanta's homeless problem has been getting worse over the past few years. As the city gentrifies they've been shutting down shelters. Some for good reasons (safety, mismanagement, sanitary reasons)...others due to NIMBYs. Actually now that I think about it, the increase in visible homelessness correlates perfectly to the arrival/explosion of the filming industry here ?
