I’ll be the first to tell you we still wouldn’t have made the playoffs with Fitz as the Starting QB if he had stayed. The Jets had one of the best defenses In 15 and all he had to do was beat us to get in and he couldn’t. He extremely inconsistent and it looks like he’s at the end of his career at Miami

Whaley had nothing to do with Fitz getting cut, and Nix realized they made a mistake paying him all that money for mediocre production

No I watched the games and plenty of them and minus a couple nice ones he outright sucked in most and held the team back for several years If he was that good then why did Buffalo cut him, why wasn’t he able to take the Jets to the playoffs back in 15 and why didn’t he take Tampa bay to the playoffs last year and get benched for Winston for the third time? Also if he was as good as you claim him to be then he would still be the starting QB here in Buffalo

No my friend I have to disagree strongly, Fitz was not the best since Kelly hell he’s not even the best since Flutie. Fitz for what he is as a QB is very mediocre to poor. He’s a great leader and good locker room/roll model guy but that does not win you football games at the end of it. We overpaid for a career back up who looked good because of TO and Johnson. We wasted so much time on developing him it was ridiculous. Modern day Joe Ferguson but with a weak arm PFF hates Buffalo

Honestly who gives a goddamn about throwing for 300 yards I’d rather have the W then a 300 yard game, PS Kelly didn’t always throw for 300 yards sometimes he’d throw for 145 to 200 yards per game, not saying he didn’t have his moments cause for sure he did. But Kelly never once in his career broke for 4,000 or over passing yards the way Marino would do almost every year. Stats are for losers, the final on the scoreboard is for winners

We need more OL, a pass rush, TE, WR, etc. QB is the last position this team needs to think about. Honestly go get a veteran in free agency. He was not overrated until Allen we haven’t had a QB worth of damn since Flutie played here. Had he not gotten benched I firmly believe we could’ve beaten the Kurt Warner led Rams. We beat them in the regular season and contained Falk. I have the feeling if we pay him that he will disappear and the fan base will turn against not only Philips but Beane and company as well for re signing him and the fan base will begin to question Beane as a GM but same can be said if we don’t resign him and let him walk into free agency and watch him dominate with another team.
