This comes off as a parody. So embarrassing but VA seems to want this lady running the show. -

This is how I know you are just funning with me…Cheers was on NBC, the Queen on CBS!! Don’t even get me started on the two+ decade gap between these shows. You have been unmasked as an unserious poster! Schooled! Destroyed!! Pwned!!! That’s a lot of exclamation points but you brought it on yourself. -

Show me the numbers and we can move on. I can’t imagine ABC being so willing to lose the audience Kimmel delivered to GMA. What are they thinking? Madness! Next Sunday the Bills game is on CBS. They must be salivating at headquarters over the audience Josh will deliver to Big Brother. It comes on a mere 4.5 hours after the game. I’m sure it will be advertised during the game and some people will turn off their tv after the Saints are dispatched. What a lead-in!! Schooled! Destroyed! What’s next? Pwned? NBC frequently used the massive popularity of Friends to launch other sitcoms as a lead-in program, placing them directly after Friends in its lucrative "Must See TV" Thursday night lineup. By benefiting from the large audience already tuned in, these shows had a better chance of gaining and keeping viewers. -

Can we get a thread for the shat upon Matthew Dowd? Hard to believe nobody is talking about him. Sad. Very sad. Sad. -
A prime example of how politics and politicians are so dishonest and repellent. This lady has a very impressive resume and is rather intelligent. Yet she will lie through her teeth and demonize the other side without the blink of an eye. Effing horrible. Good luck to New Jersey as this woman is who the citizens want as their next governor.

I have moved up from being schooled to getting destroyed by “the libs” over the simple concept of a lead-in program. As a parting gift I give you this: NBC frequently used the massive popularity of Friends to launch other sitcoms as a lead-in program, placing them directly after Friends in its lucrative "Must See TV" Thursday night lineup. By benefiting from the large audience already tuned in, these shows had a better chance of gaining and keeping viewers. Consider yourself educated. That’s hurtful! -

Using your “logic” every show on a given channel is a lead-in for every show that comes after it. You might be onto something. I wonder if any Kimmel watchers ever switch over to watch the politically like-minded Seth Meyers. I bet he’s quite the lead-in for the Today Show that starts several hours later. Or maybe to ESPN. Not sure what SportsCenter would be a lead-in for. SportsCenter I guess. Muppy is an unhinged goof. I haven’t seen a rational thought out of her. Look no further than her lead-in idiocy. Does that work as an insult? -

I like that you want to pretend a well-known concept can be tailored to mean something it’s not. I don’t know why you want to do that but I like it nevertheless. -

You and one other person are trying to redefine the concept of a “lead-in show”. I’m not trying to stop you, just pointing out the ridiculousness of imagining that Kimmel is/was a lead-in for GMA, Fallon for the Today Show, or Colbert for CBS Mornings. It’s not a semantic argument. It’s an actual thing. Lead-in Program Definition: A "lead-in" refers to a program scheduled immediately before another program with the goal of drawing viewers to that subsequent show. Strategy: Networks use lead-ins to create a seamless flow of entertainment, boosting ratings and ad revenue by providing a built-in audience for the lead-out program. Effectiveness: A strong lead-in can give a new show a significant audience, making it more likely to succeed. Note the words “immediate” and “seamless”. A six hour gap starting at midnight kind of kills all that. Good heavens. edit - prime example NBC frequently used the massive popularity of Friends to launch other sitcoms as a lead-in program, placing them directly after Friends in its lucrative "Must See TV" Thursday night lineup. By benefiting from the large audience already tuned in, these shows had a better chance of gaining and keeping viewers. Maybe Friends was actually a lead-in for the Today show. It was coming on a mere 10-11 hours later. -

You have responded with feelings rather than information. Oh well. edit - yes. I am absolutely incredulous at what you said about Fallon. Fallon has been on the air for many years. He doesn’t need to lead in. That’s just goofy. Nobody is watching TV from 12 to 6 AM. He’s not leading into anything. Just so we don’t get too carried away by nobody I mean hardly anybody. -

ahem: a lead-in show is designed to have it’s audience carry over to a newer or weaker show in attempt to deliver an audience. In no entertainment world is a show televised 6-7 hours prior, leading into anything other than the show immediately after. Regarding the bolded - maybe in the heyday of network TV. If you have anything that indicates this is still a thing in the modern era/the time of Kimmel, it would make an interesting read. If you would like to show any bit of data that exists that indicates Fallon is a lead-in for the Today Show, I will humbly offer my apologies. I don’t expect that will be necessary.
