The inertia associated with a government controlled program for manned space flight is mind-blowing. Zero tolerance for risk which is understandable but it has gotten worse as time goes on.
I’ve been in the space industry most of my career - which is nearing an end. 10 years ago I was certain I would see a man on Mars in my lifetime. Very pessimistic about it now. An incredibly plodding effort.
