  1. I hear what you are saying. He was the DC under Fisher, had one go-round as HC (and most likely knows what would need to be done now if he had the right GM), and just did 2 years under Gibbs. I'm probably in the minority, but I think he'd make a decent HC with the right team.
  2. The youngest guy in the room will be old enough to collect Social Security. That sure puts a hop in my step.
  3. I don't know how old Modrak is, but if Modrak, Ralph and Marv are in the war room on draft day, their combined ages would date back to the Roman empire. I hope to god that we could get a live feed that day. Golden Girls, look out. Competition is on the horizon.
  4. This comes up a lot when any one of a number of sports columnists for the two Boston papers has the “audacity” to not lock-step in and throw praise around for the local squads. The issue is what is a columnists’ job? They have maybe two columns a week to opine on local sports/politics, whatever their beat may be. It is their job to dig for stories, but they are not exclusively constrained by a reporters’ “just the facts, ma’am” approach to dispensing the news. It is their job to create a bit of controversy, get a few scoops now and then, and sell subscriptions to their rag. Is Sullivan a hack? It probably speaks to whether-or-not you agree with him on a consistent basis. I don’t read every one of his columns, but in this case I think he is dead-on.
  5. I wear my Bills cap and Losman jersey around here in Beantown. You have to show you support for the team even if they suck. It hasn't been easy. You have to put up with a lot "loser-man" and "you know what BILLS stands for" crap, but in the end it will be worth it when the Bills get their shiat together and start clobbering the Pats again.
  6. I won both leagues I'm in despite having lost Deuce McCallister to injuries on both my teams. It takes a lot of hands-on work and screwing guys out of their backups when an injury hits ( ), but winning without a stud RB can be done.
  7. He's 31-49 as the GM of the Bills with a single season over 0.500 (9-7). But Ralph should keep him around because he's a class act? I'm a nice guy, but if I don't produce my bosses will get rid of me, and they won't wait five years to do it. He's failed...end of story.
  8. How can you justify keeping him? Seriously, what has he done to win you over? I see an abysmal failure.
  9. At this point just firing TD and MM won't satisfy me. I want a good, old fashioned perp walk.
  10. You bring up a good point, Mr. Blue. Why wait? I was advocating giving them the boot after the Miami meltdown. Ralph could have easily elevated Modrak a month ago, and handed the reigns over to Wyche for the interim. What the hell is the point of waiting?
  11. Creamed corn, offensive lineman, applesauce....
  12. Losman for 2 games, then Holcomb for 4 games, then Losman for 3 games, then "other" for a couple games, then....
  13. I put this in another thread, but it seems appropriate for your argument as well.... Holcomb had 23 completions: -16 were for 9 yards or less -5 were for 10-19 yards -2 were for 20+, the longest being a 22 yard gain Of his 4 INTs: Three INTs came on passes of 20, 17 and 18 yards, the fourth was to Shelton for 3 yards He was 5 for 7 passing to McGahee/Williams/Shelton for a total of 33 yards with the majority coming from a 19 yard catch and run by Willis. Note that YAC are included in these numbers.
  14. To add..
  15. Mularkey was trying to squeeze out a win to get to 6-10. That is the only explanation. I'm not an Xs and Os guy, though. I clearly don't understand the complex nuances of the game. I'd also like to add, why wasn't JP playing the second half of last season when this all could have been sorted out?
  16. Would the Bills have won the KC game had Holcomb stayed in? Would the Bills have held on to beat Miami had Moulds not pouted on the sidelines? Would you be using the Cinn game for your argument had McGee not single-handedly scored 14 points? Would JP have thrown 4 picks in a game because the defense knew the QB was incapable of completing a deep pass?
  17. Then this should be even more evidence damning Mularkey. He chose to put Holcomb in there after watching him check down to that option in every single game he's played here. If Mularkey has plays designed to get a first down, and Holcomb keeps dumping it off to Shelton/Williams/whoever, then Mularkey has no one to blame but himself for continuing to trot him out there.
  18. Running a play that hasn't been run since 1941 is a real knee-slapper, all right. If he wanted to get Flutie some snaps in front of the home crowd then why not let him come in to the game and win it...all he does is win and it would add to the truly New England Flutie mystique. If Miami goes for the block and breaks the Magic One's leg on a gimmick play that hasn't been attempted since WWII that would surely cement Belicheck's HOF status, wouldn't it? I bow before the more knowledgable NE Pats fan because I simply don't see the genius of a backup QB drop-kicking a meaningless extra point. I apologize for missing the historical nuance of that play. Also, WTF does his dead father have to do with drop-kicking an extra point?
  19. Maybe I'm grasping here, but is anyone else just a bit puzzled by the all-of-a-sudden great game by McGahee on the last game of the year after almost half a season of mailing it in? If you call me nuts I won't get offended, but it just seems to smell a bit to me. Smells a bit like Rosenhaus.
  20. Why not just kick the extra point, then? Why the stupid circus act? Anyone else but "genius" calls that play and people call it a BS play. The Dolphins certainly didn't consider it a scrimmage. It was a crap play to anyone who isn't a Pats fan.
