Including last year's regular season and playoffs, the Pats are a combined 13-8, but of those 13 wins only 4 came against teams that finished last season with records above 0.500, one of which was the Dolphins who beat the Pats in the final game of the regular season to finish 9-7. That's only four wins against "good" teams (only calling Miami "good" based on last season's record of 9-7) in the last 21 games. Coaching, calls and consistency will get them wins over most of the league, but when faced with significantly better-than-average teams, they haven't matched up well in quite some time. Not counting their playoff win against Jax last year (who had a hobbled Leftwich), their last win against a team with a winning record was Tampa Bay on December 17, 2005...and their last one before that (not counting Miami on November 13, 2005) was Pittsburgh on September 25, 2005.

You aren't alone, CT. Most reasonable people see the strides his game has taken with just three starts under a good coach. The handfull of people who don't see that seem to be the loudest, though. And for some, it's not really even about JP Losman, but their own agenda.

Peter King = Genius?
Johnny Coli replied to GhostsOfTheRockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In this day and age? With wireless, and internet? How is that work to pull up a depthchart, scan some local papers...a lot of local TV stations freaking post videos. If Peter King is having such a hard time ball-washing the Patriots and pimping overpriced coffee, all the while getting flown around the country to watch the NFL and mail in a few 500 word columns a week, then I'll gladly trade jobs with him for a season...just to see how awfull his life is. -

Excuse me if I shed no tears for a guy whose job is to watch football for a living. -
Fitness heads, I need your advice....

I'll second this. The South Beach diet kicks arse. I've been on it since January...you lose a ton of weight. I don't excersize at a gym because I don't like people, and I find running to be excruciatingly boring and a total waste of what valuable free time I have. But, even without any excersize, you lose insane amounts of weight on the SB diet (it says to stay away from beer, but I say "sh-- on that"). My wife and I eat whatever the hell we want on the weekends, but during the week we stick to it. You'd be surprized how much poundage you lose bringing your own meals to the salt mines, and not hitting a Quiznos for an overpriced sub. -
Gonna play hooky tomorrow.

Good for you, buddy. Sick days are completely wasted on the sick. -
What's the guy's team look like you are going up against? Week three might be a good time to take a risk...if I was feeling saucy and had your team I might trot out Toomer and Berrian. You don't want to fall to 1-2, but fug it man! It's fantasy football! Well...are you feelin' saucy?

How did the notion of JP being a turnover waiting
Johnny Coli replied to bluv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And even if he doesn't throw an INT until week four, five or beyond, as soon as he does people will point to that single pick in two-and-change months of football and say "There! There! You see! We were right, he sucks!!!" They're already dumping on him because "he could have fumbled" and "looked like he was about to make a bad descision there". Fug them. I wear the kid's jersey with pride. -
Not sure how GSK does it, but most Big Pharma HR systems use the e-submission forms/programs now, because they get so many CVs/Resume's. Make sure you set yourself up with two versions, one nicely formatted like you've been told, and one text-only without the bells and whistles (ie bullets, bold type, italics, etc). The bells and whistles will not format into the e-submission, and if someone eventually goes to print it out it will look terrible. You'll more-than-likely need a text-only version of your cover letter as well. Usually, there is a way to upload your formatted resume and cover letters at the end of the e-submission process. For your CV/resume', load it up with key words for the jobs you are interested in. An HR person is going to go into the e-submitted database, and do a database query for applicants by keyword. You don't need to stick a list on there, but it helps to have them somewhere in document. I'm going to be brutally honest with you, Ed. Unless you know someone on the inside it will be hard to break into Big Pharma. All my jobs in the industry have come via inside contacts. Now, I have absolutely nothing to do with sales, so maybe it's handled a different way. But I suspect sales may be even more competitive than the research side, because there are fewer positions, and they're expected to move a ton of product. I'm not trying to discourage you..it's just the reality of the industry. Maybe someone involved in Pharma-sales would like to chime in here, or perhaps you know someone yourself for more specific advice. Good luck to you.

Freaking Delhomme and Plummer are killing me. Killing me. I'm gonna need 26 points out of Pitt DEF and Miller the TE tonight to win my matchup in that league. The guy I'm up against is done for the week. Plummer's point total in that league is negative. Negative! -
I can set my watch to you, guy.

Fear not. He's always lurking, my man. He can blow a QB, and still keep an eye peeled...well the one that didn't get a load in it.

It's been several years, to be exact. They only won 3 games against teams over 0.500 in the regular season last year, beat a Jax team with a hobbled QB for the first playoff game, then folded like the pretenders that they are against Denver. You're watching a team circle the drain, with the league (the twelfth man) being the only thing keeping them from spiralling into a septic tank. They should be 0-2, but Krafty Bob has deep pockets. Cueing Hollywood Douchebag...

They threw a flag, then picked it up because the Pats got the first down anyway. What a joke.

The Jets are getting screwed in the Jets v. NE game. What a shocker. -
There's going to be a fair number of "experts" choking on a black bird that eats roadkill by the end of this season.
