  1. It ought to be a national holiday. (no agenda implied)
  2. They were probably referencing the fact that in some counties they couldn't get any of the machines to work, bailed on them, and have opened late in order to switch to paper ballots in some places. AP via Boston Globe
  3. Yes, I will. I get to work way before any polls open, but get out early so I will be voting.
  4. There was about as much humor in that post as there was substance.
  5. There hasn't been a single exit poll released anywhere, yet. Are you going to post this kind of fabricated crap all day? I'm all for letting you continue to look like a fool on your own, but I'm also willing to tank my productivity today to make you look like a bigger one.
  6. The version they played is a new cover by some nameless (and talentless) band. It's so close to the Femmes' version that you have to ask 1) why even cover the song if you're not going to add anything original to it, and 2) why wouldn't the stadium just play the superior, original version?
  7. If there is a God and he's enjoying this hypocrisy as much as the rest of us, then these are the types of "hard"-hitting questions that will get bounced around in the MSM until the next Guardian of the Righteous falls from their perch on high. I see that Foley was due to end his 30-day rehab assignment, but he's been stuffed back into the closet for another 30 days. I guess he's still an alcoholic.
  8. Well, he's using the "I paid for the drugs but didn't use them" and the "It was only a massage" line. I'm straight and drug-free...honest! There you go. Three years of buying methamphetamines (that you never used) from your gay masseuse. What's not to believe?
  9. My response was in reference to Chcknwing's post suggesting that liberals want to see "America fail." I think a very clear distiction should be made when we have this discussion. If Iraq is ultimately deemed to be a failure, and I believe it will be, America is not to blame. The responsibility lies entirely with Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney. That was my point.
  10. If pointing out the people responsible for this huge strategic failure lumps me in with John Kerry, so be it. But it changes nothing.
  11. Blaming the Secret Service. I hadn't thought about that angle.
  12. Exposing the hypocrisy of one of the most vocal anti-gay critics is not bashing gays.
  13. I heard that Diebold was pushing HBO to not broadcast it. That should tell you something.
  14. Let's make something crystal clear here. The failure in Iraq lies entirely with Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney. This was what they were gunning for from day one, and their arrogance and failure to explore any other course of action but their own put us in this mess that we're in. Let's make something else crystal freaking clear. Pointing out that Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld failed miserably is not something any of us are dancing for joy over. Whether you like it or not, those of us who have critisized this administration for it's blunders love this country just as much, if not more than you do. Following an idiot blindly into a mess, consequences be damned, is not how I would measure patriotism or love of country. Watching our kids get killed for an imbecile's arrogance is not how I would catagorize supporting our troops. The only one elevating those doing harm to this country are the ones who have them hoisted far upon their shoulders.
  15. I wasn't that impressed, really, and had these guys been in jerseys for another team we'd be crucifying them right now. Screw it. I’m going to crucify them regardless of the Bills unis. My biggest problem with it is "What was the point?" For a recitation of a handful of historical moments, I felt overall that the lyrics weren't that clever, or funny, or thought provoking. The choice of the song was abysmal. The montage format wasn't surreal enough, or weird enough to make me want to watch it again or show it to anyone. If using the handwritten cards was an attempt at introducing a crude, DIY feel to the piece, it fell far, far short of creativity and the effect ended up appearing juvenile. Had this been done by grade-school kids, then I might have been amused by the naiveté, but the lyrics lack even the innocence that a pre-schooler could have provided. I guess my overall point is that it wasn't even bad enough to qualify as camp or kitsch. I love stuff that’s good because it’s so terrible, but this missed on almost every level. The music wasn’t good enough for me to want to hear it, or aurally abrasive enough for me to give them props for getting a reaction out of me. Add in the fact that the lyrics did nothing either, and you could have watched this with the sound off. I’ve already stomped on their feeble montage, so all that’s left is…well, nothing. This video is a bland, waste of time.
  16. Here's a snarky opinion piece in the Boston Globe today from novelist Steve Kluger, representing the "Homosexual Agenda" and taking responsibilty for everything that's gone wrong in the US. Blame it all on the Gay Agenda A perfect example showing that the most effective way to fight bigotry, racism, and stupidity is to throw it right back in their face as a joke, using their own hatred as the punchline.
  17. I completely understand your giddiness, but there's really no reason to go "shrill" in the few remaining days of the campaign. A far better way of going about this would be to stick to the more sobering issues that have put Bush and the GOP in the defensive position they are in with respect to the American people. Bush's endorsement yesterday for the jobs Rumsfeld and Cheney have done comes to mind, despite the fact that the American people have a lower opinion of Cheney than they do of even Bush, or that many people of his own party are openly calling for Rumsfeld's resignation. He's clearly out of touch with reality and the GOP is only happy to continue to enable him, despite the mumbling of a few incumbents in tough reelection campaigns.
  18. I'm not disagreeing that a lot of money went the Dems way. But it is a documented fact that the GOP raised more. That's not a partisan attack, or a biased observation. It's been written about by all media outlets, both conservative and liberal. Money buys you ad time. Money helps you man phone banks. Money helps your GOTV and ground game. The GOP has more of it. Your boy Karl Rove stated that almost word-for-word when he was interviewed about his optimism on retaining control. The rest of your post is gibberish, and I've already stated in multiple posts that the national polls mean nothing.
  19. The Herald photographer clearly photoshopped the Bruins jerseys off of them, and replaced the front of Sullivan's Tap with a pic of a church. I'm surprised she put down her Marlboro 100 long enough to take the shot. "Hey Taw-mee, kick his ass!"
  20. Agreed. Money + incumbency + gerrymandered districts + superior ground game = status quo. The Dems should be commended for making as many races as they have competitive, ie GOP strongholds like Wyoming, Idaho and Texas. But the GOP is a cornered dog with tons of money at it's disposal, and quite frankly a ton of stuff that they would rather not come to light. Losing isn't an option for them.
  21. You bailed too early on the rif. You should have followed with "Damned activist Judges!"
  22. Not if rags is a boy dog! We must protect the sanctity of marriage.
