This Drunk Down the Road
Johnny Coli replied to catchescannonballs's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I had a cabbie once that I got into a discussion on record collecting with. He collected old 78s. They don't make record players that go to 78, but you can convert one that does 33 and 45 into a 78 (33 + 45 = 78). I never thought of it that way, and was pretty damn amazed. I was, of course, also quite drunk at the time, so while I could now figure out how to play a 78 with a standard player with minor adjustments, I will not qualify for a liver. -

My world's got two speeds...33 and 1/3, and 45. -

I'm calling BS. They almost never give a new liver to someone who lost theirs via alcoholism. The list of otherwise-healthy recipients is far too long. -

I'm not really a death penalty guy, but this seems like a bit less-than-adequate of a punishment for tossing a baby into traffic. -
New Concept here, All-time great songs
Johnny Coli replied to justnzane's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Now we're getting somewhere. Outstanding selection. As an aside, the only version of "House of the Rising Sun" that I liked was this heavy, fuzz-driven, Blue Cheer-esque interpretation by Frigid Pink. Fabulous. -

Holy Cow. Except for the 'Mats and VU songs mentioned this thread could be re-titled "Songs that Johnny Coli Hates." Anyway... The Ramones, "Rockaway Beach" See you in four hours.... -
Looks like the chair of the Armed Serv Committee
Johnny Coli replied to VABills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
His new SecDef was in the damn Iraq Study Group. So, what you're saying is, he is so far out of touch with reality, so far out of touch with what the American people want, so far out of touch with members of his own party, and so far out of touch with current and former members of the military, that he would ignore everyone and every bit of advice just to not admit to being wrong for two more years? -

Whether or not we end up with the Levin-sponsored plan (which, if you read the entire transcript of his remarks, calls for a bipartisan-supported plan), or end up acting on the ideas/plans recommended by the Baker-Hamilton report, the important thing is that seven days after the mid-term election and a full three-plus years after this war began, we are finally seeing other ideas being batted around than the "we know better than you" arrogance of the Bush administration and it's inept handling of this war. You would have to be a complete imbecile to think that any of these new plans will be implemented without a great deal of work and imput from both parties, the DoD, and even Bush himself. -
Giuliani Takes First Step in Run for President
Johnny Coli replied to EC-Bills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Ah, you mean Baker, Scowcroft, Gates, Powell and the rest of Bush I's team, not to mention too many retired generals to even link to. One would have thought that the "Stay the Course" and "Cut and Run" jingoism would have ended when they realized the American people were too smart to fall for it. -
Effin'-A right I would! And I'd play for damn peanuts, as well!

Bench Losman for Moulds Bowl I? Are you crazy, man? The bitterness. The bad blood. The benching. The bellyaching. There's too much history there. EM and his 3 catches for 10 yards is in for a world of Pain! A World of Pain!!!

Offensive line might have issues but,

Instead of whining about the QB not making the OL "look good," lets get an OL that "is good." -
Hey Mr. Above-it-all, don't post in the fugging thread, then. Those of us living in NE have been waiting a long time for our divisional rival to start the decent into mediocrity. Now that it's happening we're going to celebrate every loss, every injury, every interception and every sack. You don't want to participate, we don't care. But the Paytoilets just lost two straight (and 3 of 5) at "the Razor" and I'm freaking sky-high. You may now return to being better than those of us who are Bills fans living in NE.

When can we start the "Belicheck can't win without Mangini" talk?

Agreed. Tommy-boy was throwing as the dude hit him. He didn't pick him up and throw him or drive him into the mud. He hit him square in the chest, both were in the air, and he landed on him. Clean, legal hit. Should not have been a roughing the passer call. That was pretty weak. As for The Genius, they were killing him on the radio this morning as I was driving in. Pats are 5-10 against teams with winning records since beating Philly in the Superbowl. That team is done. Time for Pats fans to break out the Eli Manning jerseys.

Jesus. Drudge has six bullet links at the top of the webpage, all linking to the same Time article. The righties are becoming unhinged. Just because a few people got together and found a lawyer that would file the lawsuit doesn't mean that any court will allow it to go forward. The German courts already bailed on a similar case two years ago. Much like all of the other doomsday scenarios that the right spewed out before the election to scare you into voting GOP, it has no merit. Does anyone for one second think that this would actually go forward? Anyone who doesn't already believe that a gay cabal threw the election?

Let's throw more unskilled employees at a problem and pay them even less. Where have I seen that business model before....hmmm...oh, yeah. Slavery and sweatshops. Let's turn back the clock to the 1890's. -
Err America files Chapter 11
Johnny Coli replied to KD in CA's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The beauty of this thread is that you can leave it for a week and then come back to it and start arguing exactly where you left off ten pages ago. Others will pick up the slack in your absence, and you don't even have to read over what you've missed. Some new and exciting misinterpretation of science and statistics is waiting for you when you return. -
So the emotional trauma and scarring from the rape isn't enough for you. You also want to tack on the physical reminder, for 9 months, of that trauma, not to mention the added bonus of knowing for the rest of her life that the progeny from that trauma is walking around somewhere. So you can feel better. That's sick.

The only place this is even getting any play is in the conservative press and blogs...just another sign of the apocalypse ushered in that much more quickly by the satan-worshipping liberals.
-
I love how the Conservative Voice took a small piece of information from this Time article and then links this farce of a case to Harry Reid and the Dems, who aren't mentioned at all in the original article, and have absolutely nothing to do with the German case. Not to mention that Germany isn't even going to take the case up.
