McCain's passport also breached
Johnny Coli replied to Bishop Hedd's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Social security number, every address you've lived at previously, all the personal information you filled out to obtain and renew that passport. There's a lot more info in there than a stamp from every border you crossed. Just obtaining the SS would give these people to a whole host of info that they could use to obtain further info. Think about it. In most cases all you need is a SS, mother's maiden name, and a previous address, and your off and running in any number of directions. This is a very big deal, no matter whose file was breached. -
I haven't read or heard anything like this anywhere. You are constantly making things up and attributing them to the main stream media or "liberals" without a link, or in many cases, not even any context with the thread you're replying in.

Awkward, maybe. But is that really a statement that should have gotten the attention it did, today? Was it newsworthy? Did it warrant the level of coverage it got by cetain media outlets? I don't believe it did.

Saw the Wallace segment earlier today, but hadn't seen the Kilmeade walk-off. The Wallace segement speaks directly to Bluefire's post, in that he's chastising the idiots for taking Obama's statement out of context. Finally some news people getting sick of this crap.

Reverend Wrights post 9/11 sermon
Johnny Coli replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Wow! Finally had the time to sit down and listen to this. I'm not sure I've ever heard a guy so misrepresented by the media in my life. I didn't hear any hate in that sermon. I didn't hear and anti-American rhetoric. For those who choose to listen to it, you hear a man trying to articulate what all Americans were feeling the week the towers were brought down. To the people who have villified this man, you are so far off base on what this man was saying it's hardly worth discussing. You want to talk about injustice. A terrible, terrible injustice has been done to this man. -
Woman killed by stingray... while she's in a boat!
Johnny Coli replied to Fezmid's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Maybe one of her relatives should have her cremated, have the stingray stuffed, and then have her ashes jammed inside of the stingray. -

What goes in has to come out, my man, and that's not a place you want to end up. -

You could go the Huggable Urn route. They stuff your ashes into a teddy bear. "Hold me when you think of me" -

I'm taking everything with me into the fire. The less that get's burned the smaller the stein. Anything smaller than at least a pint isn't worth it, really. I'm not going to take the chance that the absence of my liver ( , like anybody will want that thing) or kidney's turn a vessel for beer into a juice glass. It's all about dignity, El Decano. -

I'm going the cremation route. Spending eternity in a box in the ground doesn't seem so great. I'll do the vase thing for a while. It's got to be a cool-looking vase, though. And I don't want it handed down to any idiots. Actually, if there was a way for my ashes to get mixed with ceramic and made into a beer stein, that would be awesome. Glazed...is there a more fitting way to end up? Not in my book. -
Are you seriously trying to make the case that Drudge is pro-Obama?

She knows, man. She's an alcoholic that was in the program. She knows exactly what she did, and confronting her isn't going to do a damn thing. Telling her she's not welcome and you don't trust her isn't going to stop her from drinking. Telling her she's not welcome and you don't trust her isn't going to make her want to get sober. You tell her roommate, someone who is in the program, and they try and get her sober and back into recovery. RtDB has given her chances, has been a friend, and she blew it. I know people like her. I have lived with people like her. I have lost trust in people like her. Confronting her isn't going to do anything. At some point you just have to get out of their way. I'm not saying RtDB should abandon her, I'm saying confronting her about what she knows she did isn't going to change anything, and it's not going to help her. She's an alcoholic. Don't ask her over to watch your place the next time you go away. She will know why.

I think it has more to do with why the Obama people weren't notified sooner. The news this morning said that the incidents didn't make it up the chain at Justice until recently. I think that warrants at least some answers, as he's a Presidential candidate and you would expect that a flag like that would get bumped up to a higher person. Plus. they happened on three occasions and on dates that were pretty significant with respect to campaigning. Not saying there's anything to it, but at some point you've got to do better than "it was just curiosity." No one's going to believe that.

Happy B-day! -
Sarah's an alcoholic, she's off-the-wagon, and it would appear she's no longer with the program. There's a better-than-good chance she knows what she did and has the classic alcoholic regret and shame. I don't see the point in confronting her, really. Get the keys back, mention it to her roommate, and next time you need someone to watch your pets find someone else. She'll know why you didn't ask her. As someone who's lived with people like Sarah, you can only try and do so much, and the confrontation thing never works.

More details.

Your Union's got to get on the ball, Bill. The cops up here don't make a ton of money up front, which is tough especially because they've all got to live within the city limits (cost of living here is pretty high), but anytime anybody does any work at all--cracks a manhole cover, works on a stoplight, digs a 14 billion dollar leaky tunnel--there has to be an officer on duty. It's all ovetime pay, and you don't have to be there for the whole detail...work at least four, get paid for eight.

Wow, man! That is a great story. You are not alone in thinking Burke was/is the greatest drummer. He's got that great style--banging out 8th notes on his floor tom with that high, straight-up-and down arm delivery. Always has fabulous hair, too. Glad to hear he's really cool in person. Christ, the people that dude has played with. I've got my copy of Eat to the Beat framed and hanging on my office wall. What a cool birthday story.

HBD! What was Clem Burke doing at SXSW? Was he sitting in for someone or just taking in shows?

With detail money, you could make close to 150k a year up here in Boston. Do they not require a detail cop at all construction sites in NYC?

Well, what the hell are they waiting for!!!! The coverage for this has been excellent, IMO. ScotusBlog live blogged it yesterday, and had the transcript up by 2:30PM. Oyez even has the arguments up in an mp3 file, and you can follow along with the transcript (here). Remarkable. Combine this argument with Obama's speech on race, and we had quite a day yesterday as a nation.

McCain's Experience!
Johnny Coli replied to molson_golden2002's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The White House is useless if you've got 60 seats in the Senate and a substantial majority in the House. The Dems have a chance to gain more seats at every single level of govenment. That's why the GOP strategists and their chatter-monkeys in the media are trying to destroy Obama's momentum. He brings people out to the poll. No Hillary, no polarized voting block. She's a GOP recruitment machine. The GOP's worst nightmare is an undecided/indy-moderate electorate voting for a charismatic, history-making, articulate Democrat, or a 71-year-old guy who will continue with Bush's failure of an agenda. I really don't think we should be worried about an Obama-McCain election, really. -
McCain's Experience!
Johnny Coli replied to molson_golden2002's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
You do realize that this election is not just about the Presidency, right? That this election is about continuing to gain seats in both houses in DC, in gaining significant seats in every state legislature, and in gaining more Governorships? You do see that, right? Obama brings more moderates, indy's and first-time voters out to the polls. Hillary will polarize the GOP voters and they'll destroy us in local, state and national elections. We have a real chance at getting the White House with Obama, and with it massive pick-ups at every level of government. This isn't just about getting another Clinton in the WH.
