  1. I have no class or shame, and there's very few lines I won't cross. Bills win. Brady could be done for the season. Yeah, I'm celebrating.
  2. I may drive to Watertown and throw eggs at Smerlas' house.
  3. I think I remember you living near Boston. I may take the day off from work just to drink beer and listen to the wailing and gnashing of teeth on WEEI. Bills win. Brady crippled. Yup. I'm having a good day.
  4. I don't think I have to explain to you that not all 37 million tuned in because they agree with her or McCain on their platform (or lack thereof). And just about every one of us who can't stand her in this forum all said she made a good speech. She made a fabulous speech. But it was short on any specifics, long on rhetoric and personal attacks, something McCain says he's above, and loaded with inaccuracies and flat-out lies. However, it doesn't mean she didn't orate those lies well.
  5. Where in the OP is there any cheering for a recession? He's pointing out the obvious. If we're in a recession the party of record is hosed. I don't see anything suggesting he's stoked at all.
  6. Anti-government? Like the secessionist group Todd Palin belongs too?
  7. He asks a valid question. Since the announcement of her as McCain's VP choice, she's yet to give an interview or go before the press, outside of the People puff-piece.
  8. It really sucks having a guy think before answering a question. Considering the arena of the absurd he was walking into on Fox, I think Obama did an outstanding job.
  9. This might fall under commercial use laws. Not sure, though. If it does, you just can't pay a small fee to BMI and use the song in a commercial. EDIT: I believe John Adams is involved in patent law. Maybe he has a take on this.
  10. One of those "immature lefties" is an Iraq war veteran.
  11. Posted elsewhere, but relevant in this thread, as well. Stop using the USW as a prop
  12. "The Republican campaign did not ask for permission to use the song, nor would they have been granted that permission."
  13. Worse. It was 84,000. Not much from McCain in his speech last night regarding how he's going to help. Some nonsense about how cutting taxes will help, which it hasn't. McCain: Hmm. So he's going to pay for all unemployed workers to go back to school and make up the difference in their wages while they're in school? Education is a Civil Right. I hope someone holds him to that, and I wonder if the people in his party know he's got socialist tendencies. I sure didn't. But other than the above, saying he's going to cut taxes and lying that Obama will raise them, that's all he said last night with respect to the economy. The American people deserve more.
  14. Where's the right-wing outrage for the GOP using 9/11 footage? This is the party that gets outraged when the press takes photos of fallen servicemen's coffins being loaded onto a plane, yet they have no opinion when their party stages a military funeral and shows a slo-mo of the plane hitting the Tower at their convention. The GOP exploiting military and civilian deaths to market their ticket. These are not the people that should be leading this country.
  15. Well done. You've persuaded me to send even more money to Obama's campaign.
  16. Sick. The RNC used a staged military funeral for a patriotism video shown during the convention. A military funeral as a prop. These people need to be kept as far away from commanding the military from the Whitehouse as possible. That a former POW would allow a military funeral as a prop is sick. That's the leader some of you want to vote for. That's the guy you want putting our troops in harms way.
  17. You can add the United Steel Worker's Union to the list of who isn't that enamoured with Palin. She likes to float out there that her husband is a USW union member. The International President of USW wants her to stop. Sarah Palin, explain yourself, or stop using the USW as a prop
  18. I think there's a point that being missed here. When Palin fires off the "community activist" line, it's a somewhat subtle GOP dog whistle tactic meant to pander to a specific segment of the right wing base. Think of it as the 2008 version of "welfare queen." Really, why else would Palin the speech writer try and disparage Obama's community activism, which on it's surface is right in line with the GOP's faith-based charity initiatives that they've wanted to replace government social programs with? Ripping Obama for working in a church-based community organization is pretty low. But I'm sure what the writer intended is even lower.
  19. Are you that big of an idiot? There's hundreds of videos up all over the 'tubes of Obama speaking with just a microphone and no podium or teleprompter in sight. He just had a massive town hall with union workers yesterday in Ohio.
  20. Yes. I hope like hell she articulates "civil rights workers should !@#$ off" every time she get's in front of a microphone.
  21. One campaign is willing to get it's message out. The other hides from the media unless it's a staged photo op (No questions please!).
  22. She slashed funds for special education two years in a row. A real advocate for special needs kids. And yes. It is a windfall tax on oil.
