  1. I have to live here in Boston, and no matter how bad it's gotten, I've still been up-beat on Fridays, especially when they're going to play the Pats. Now, Monday's haven't been too swell for me....but you have to take the good with the bad. This is starting to turn around. I have no doubt that this coming Monday will be a very good one.
  2. Excellent. Let's just suspend any and all civil rights for anyone in this country who isn't an English speaking Christian/Jew/Hindu. Jackass, indeed.
  3. We knew you'd come around . One of us...one of us...one of us....
  4. Because Civil Rights are not considered unconstitutional.
  5. Because I live in Massachusetts, and we actually gained democratic seats in our state legislature, despite 3 million dollars used by our Republican governor to try and gain seats for his party. Kerry will be a Senator here for as long as he runs.
  6. It's a pretty big tent . We even have room for you. One of us...one of us...one of us...Join us Darin...
  7. The Right has an easier time keeping its base. They will all flock to the polls for God, Guns, and Apple pie, and to keep the "homo's" and slacker-dope-fiend youth from rolling back this country's morality. The Left has a harder time keeping it's base unified. Despite the loss, the voter turnout was impressive, and had Kerry carried Ohio, which he came pretty close to, we would be talking about "How the Dems finally unified their Party." We''ll concentrate on the mid-term elections now, but it'll be harder to go after the "smaller" targets.
  8. Yes G.F. Us liberals should roll up our sleeves, pick up a bible, and get behind our president. After all, 53% of the vote is a "mandate". Let's all unify behind our great leader.
  9. Yes, wow. I know a lot of people here in Mass that voted for Nader last time that LOVE Moore. You may not know it, but Boston is a pretty big college town. Students overwhelmingly supported Dean in this town because of his outspoken attitude about the war, and liked Moore for the same reasons. The Dems needed to keep that base energized.
  10. No, I think the analogy holds, regardless of the visibility of Moore. The Right has a virtual monopoloy on the radio for the type of hysterics that Rush and Oliver North bring to the table. That fires up the conservative base, and they can get away with a lot more than the visible part of the party would allow themselves to. The Dems used Moore to fire up their base in much the same way, only he was more visible at the convention, because, quite frankly, as part of the Dem's core base, I wanted to see him there. The Right needed to bring in more moderates, so they needed to keep the Rush's and the Ralph Reed's behind the curtain. The Dems needed to bring in the Greens and the students, a base that would be attracted to Moore.
  11. Jeff Jacoby is the resident right-wing nut columnist used to "balance" out the Boston Globe op-ed page. I love where he rips Kerry for not condemning Moore et al for calling Bush a nazi, but doesn't mention any of the same coming from the right (hello Rush). Jacoby is a tool.
  12. He still retains his senate seat. He's not going away.
  13. They related to just a shade less than half of everyone that voted. That's a lot of abnormal people.
  14. He's gonna need his rest for when he gets nominated for the Supreme Court. It also conveniently gets him out of the public eye for a while...let someone else take the beating on elimination of civil rights. So, does Bush nominate a moderate judge first, to test the waters? Or does he try to ram Ashcroft down our throats right away? He could have up to 3 or four chances this term.
  15. If the county is 200 square miles with only 40 people in it, and 21 voted for Bush, it will be red.
  16. Just think about what annoys you most about a Pats or a Red Sox fan, and then do the opposite, and you will be fine. If you go over there with an "In-your-face, Europe" attitude, then you deserve whatever you get.
  17. Not surprising that the counties would be dead on the same four years later. It would be cool to see the voter turn-out comparisons by county compared to the last election. A couple hundred people in either direction, even though the majority went to a certain candidate would have affected the totals for the entire state.
  18. Yes, bored...also waiting for my fiance to get home, whom I haven't seen in a week. Then I won't be bored, and I won't be logged in here either.
  19. I can't believe that I just read through all four pages of this thread. Stevie Nicks had nothing on Debbie Harry, by-the-way. Both haven't aged well. I'm looking forward to my bloated, over-the-hill days. You don't have to pretend to like anyone when you're old. It's comforting.
  20. That dude Brian Jonestown was in the Rolling Stones, right? Or was he a Monkee?
  21. This is going to de-volve into a debate on the pros and cons of irradiated meat, isn't it?
  22. Using it to get through the day is one thing, but I doubt you consult with TSW on how you should do your job, or who you should pick to fill certain positions at your company. Unless your about to hire a microbiologist for an insane salary, then I'm your man. Shhhhhh....hire Johnny Coli.....pay him lots of money......Shhhhhh.
  23. It doesn't freak any of you out that the President of the United States "talks" to Jesus?
  24. Clearly I am allowed a bit of hyperbole today.
  25. I was gone for a week and look what happens. It'll take me a while to get caught up again at work, but I plan on being a major liberal pain-in-the-ass.
