  1. I wasn't offended. I support a Democrat in a leadership position that's finally willing to speak up and fight back. I support leadership that will finally go on the attack. While he may not be the best person to be actually running for political office, I think him going on the offensive (both meanings of the word) isn't such a bad thing, and quite frankly, it is something that has been missing in from the party. You don't have to like Howard Dean. He isn't the head of your party.
  2. Label us (me) what you want. RichIO wanted to hear from someone that likes Dean as DNC chairman. I think he is/will continue to be a fine choice as DNC chairman. You want to call me a buffoon because I agree that some in the republican party are "evil" and "corrupt" that's fine. I'd also throw the term "scumbags" out there as well. That uncivil enough for you?
  3. It works for the right. Like I said. You're not Dean's audience.
  4. I say good for Howard Dean. So he pisses off a few hard-core republicans, and some libertarians, none of whom are going to switch how they vote anytime soon. You're not his audience. As the DNC chair, he's merely attempting to fire up the base. As someone who is part of that base, I'm pretty fired up. So, good for Howard Dean. I hope he never shuts up.
  5. That's too long to go between drinks. Just pound away, maybe a beer before every commercial break (it's a marathon, not a sprint), then get another one when they go to commercial so you don't miss any of the action. The Bills aren't picking until the second round, so try to keep it together until then. You can find out who they drafted in rounds three through seven from the nurse when you come out of your coma on wednesday. See you on thursday, fellas.
  6. You should give it to a homeless person. Hey, isn't that guy peeing on the alley wall and talking to himself the former QB of the Buffalo Bills? They said that guy had a hall-of-fame arm. What a waste. I'd give him a dollar, but he'd clearly spend it on a bottle of booze.
  7. Right freakin' on, Newbie! Down with the Man! I'm sick of voting. By God, it's easier to throw a brick than throw a switch. Take it to the streets brother!
  8. What exactly makes you think a homosexual man would even find you attractive? I've got news for you, if most women find you repulsive, so will most gay men.
  9. The joke'll be on him/her when he/she shows up in heaven, and God is an African-American Lesbian...and a Unitarian.
  10. While Ebola and Marburg are currently the "sexy" doomsday plagues for the American Idol crowd, the real concern right now is a possible outbreak of avian flu from southeast asia. That will be the big one, and most agree it's a matter of when, not if. It only took SARS a few weeks to make it to Toronto.
  11. It is better to see it and step around it, than it is to smell it and have to look at the bottom of your shoe.
  12. The Chief of Police in our town told us to be on the lookout for roving gangs of senior citizens. They've become such a problem in the area, that they are thinking of putting in a curfew. You're lucky all you lost was your bumper.
  13. This sure has been an enlightening weekend. According to you, my party is the party of poor, gay, terrorists, and according to beauxsox in the other thread, all libertarians are dope-smoking hedonists. It's good thing we have your party representing all that is good and moral.
  14. That's their damn job. That's what they go to school to become pharmacists for. Doctors write the scripts, pharmacists fill them. We already have HMOs refusing to cover certain expensive meds, we sure as hell don't need "conscientious objector" pharmacists.
  15. That's why we (liberals) call it "Pro Choice". "Pro Abortion" gets tossed around by the same people who toss around "Partial Birth Abortion". Not a single liberal that I know would prefer using abortions as the primary line of birth control.
  16. Weren't most of these judges Reagan, Bush I appointees? Aren't they all card-carrying Republican, Christian Right conservatives? You right-wingers love to throw "treason" around, don't you. Maybe you ought to see who the turd hits before you toss it. Those people are your own.
  17. Absolutely keep him somewhere where we can see him, and everything he does is public record. The best place for that scumbag is in the spotlight. He should be miked at all times, and every hatefull, bigoted statement that blurts out of his mouth should be recorded and played for the masses.
  18. Back in the mid-80s, I got a letter in the mail (probably a bill but that's not relevent to the story) and someone had stamped "boycott grapes" on the back. I did some digging (sure could have used Google back then) and found out how crappy the farm workers in california had it (some still have it crappy to this day). Chavez' campaign was successful in getting a good number of pesticides banned from use.
  19. The only "movement" I see coming out of this, OGT, is that there will be a wave of DNR and Living Will documents filled out. I don't see there being a sliding of society towards widespread euthanasia. The industry would rather have a ward full of Terri Schiavo's, vegging away for decade$ and decade$, than a ward full of empty beds. The old and feeble require care...expen$ive care.
  20. It's not the itching, it's the scratching.
  21. There should be a way to see who has made the most "Ignore" button lists. That would be a good benchmark for shame. Anybody that made it over a certain threshold (say 50 people have you on "ignore") could be banned for life, but still get their name in the lights. Mountain high, valley low.
