  1. The Pats don't look so great against the run. Hmmmmm.....
  2. ....And the Saints get a crappy spot. And so it goes...
  3. Rodney Harrison going for the head in a pre-season game. He's all class.
  4. It's on Fox in my area. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman in the booth. Excruciating.
  5. Goat-boy throws a pick on the first play of the game
  6. Sí. la espera ..no. ..uh, no. no. ...I no sabe. ..maybe.
  7. What car is he going to drive to his HOF induction?
  8. I asked The Magic 8-ball, and it told me to go to hell. I didn't know it could do that.
  9. I too have a conundruum. What is the proper way to say 24/7? I say "two-four, seven", but most people call me an idiot when I say that and tell me I should say "twenty-four, seven." So, who's the idiot?
  10. Not only did I burn up vacation time, I left a patient on the operating table, and killed two squirrels and a mailman racing to get home. I should have just paid the $5. I sure feel foolish.
  11. Clearly this falls into the "to each his own" category, as you say. Personally I'd rather watch a couple guys slug their way through a tune than watch some "virtuoso" bore me with his technical prowess for countless minutes. I'd rather hear a pick-slide than a long guitar solo, and I never want to hear a bass roaming all over a song. It appears I am in the minority here.
  12. It's more personal taste, I guess. Finger picking leads to noodling around. I think the bass should be a rhythm instrument, and should follow the drums more. I like the Dee Dee Ramone style of bass playing. I don't like guys like Billy Sheehan that are all over the place. Like I said, personal taste.
  13. Have your kid fire up his new bass in your garage. I guarantee it'll be a hell of a lot more entertaining than REO Speedwagon.
  14. Didn't know they were in town (or even touring, for that matter). Where'd they play? Must have been a weird crowd.
  15. Usually, but not this time I took one guitar lesson. This was a long time ago, mind you. He showed me how to play the intro to "smoke on the water" and gave me some lame-o blues scales to work on. I never went back and I taught myself how to play. Did I know what was technically "right" or "wrong"? Nope. Did I care? Nope. I played what sounded good to me, then found other guys that were into the same thing. I had a hell of a lot more fun than some kid practicing scales in his bedroom. Let the kid have some fun.
  16. What takes more creativity, learning how to play “Smells like teen Spirit” or writing a song with his buddies about how they hate Social Studies? I’d much rather hear a band of 14 year olds blasting out original tunes about what bugs them than a cover song. Maybe that's just me.
  17. Someone should add a Wikipedia entry. Make sure you do the full history, who invented it, the Retatta War of 2005, all the pertinent information. Edit: Here's the form...someone make history. Retatta entry form (anyone can edit an entry once it is in there...that's the beauty of Wikipedia.)
  18. Solid post, bilsoverdue. The guy sucked here...totally sucked. What's so wrong about ripping a guy who couldn't do his job? People forget he came here from NE and they all said the same thing...nice guy, blows as a QB and a leader. He comes here...nice guy, blows as a QB and a leader. Now he's on the hated Dallas Cowboys, and I'm looking forward to watching him suck there, too. I bought into his crap...actually bought a damn jersey with his name on it. I can't stand him, and I'm not going to apologize for it. I hope he plays just good enough to keep his job on a team I hate, for a coach I hate, in a state I hate.
